At least 6 or 7 others came in after me in the course of 35 minutes or so and were all taken to get their haircut. At this point it was 4:45 when she FINALLY finished cutting the persons hair in her chair. Instead of taking me right after or even coming over to apologize for running late, she took her phone and went off somewhere. That's when I got up and asked the girl at the desk why is it taking so long, she apologized and said it won't be much longer. At that point, I didn't want this stylist to cut my hair any longer. After making me wait at least 30 to 40 minutes and I don't know how much longer it would have been before she decided to finally be ready to cut my hair, I left. Completely unprofessional!! You make an appointment for a reason, I can understand running a bit late, but this was so ridiculous!! I visited Boulevard Barber & Style today for a haircut. The sign clearly said "walk-ins are…read morewelcome," so I went in and sat down. However, no one acknowledged me. After waiting for a while, another gentleman walked in after me, and a barber immediately started cutting his hair. At that moment, I felt uncomfortable and disappointed. As someone from another country, it made me wonder if I was being treated differently based on my background. I got frustrated and decided to leave. As I was heading out, one of the barbers stopped me and asked why I was leaving. I explained the situation. He asked if I had an appointment, and I said no. He then told me I was actually next, which convinced me to come back in. While I was returning, I overheard the barber who had taken the other customer mention he had another appointment coming up. That made me feel like he was intentionally avoiding taking me as a customer. Thankfully, another barber stepped in and offered to take care of me. Derriance Hughes ended up doing my haircut and beard trim, and I have to say--he did an excellent job. I was very satisfied with the result. He was professional, attentive, and delivered exactly what I wanted. Going forward, I will return to this shop only if Derriance is available. I've taken his contact and will book appointments directly with him to avoid confusion. Overall Rating: (4/5) Great service from Derriance, but the initial experience could have been handled much better. If I experience anything like this again, I will reconsider my rating.
