New insurance at work, my provider was out of network. Lenscrafters was able to see me same day whereas other providers in network had a long wait. The place was spotless! Bright, clean and healthy feeling. I had prepared for an awful experience and it was not that at all. Amazed all fairly new equipment and technology to evaluate my vision needs. So far I've been waiting 55 minutes to see the Dr. I had an appointment. No apologies. The preliminary tests I took were in a room that needs a lightbulb change, it's like a room from a horror movie. I filled out my paperwork online before I came in to "save time". Is all good service dead?? I made this appointment because the Dr. comes highly rated. I'll updated if she is as good as she is hyped. Otherwise I do not recommend this place. Update, the Dr. was fine but not worth the hour long wait. I took my prescription and will buy elsewhere. The customer service for shopping was okay. However, do not let them make your glasses and mail them afterward! I went to their store on last Tuesday (7 days ago), they said they would finish the glasses on Wednesday and send them to me (in Manhattan, New York) by UPS mail, which will arrive on Thursday. However, I did not receive the package on Friday and then called them. They said they just mailed the package minutes ago and will send me a tracking number after the calling. That number never come. On yesterday, Monday, I called again, they gave me a tracking number, which shows a mailing label was created on Friday, but UPS never received the package (which means they still haven't sent it out). The women answering the phone said they definitely had sent it on Thursday (while on last Friday, she said they "just" mailed it, and the tracking number says the mailing label was created on Friday), and there must some problem with UPS. She will call UPS and get back to me. However, again, she never calls me back. When I check the tracking number this morning, it shows UPS received the package on last night, half an hour after my call, which means they finally sent the package after two of my phone calls, while lied to me that they already sent it five days ago. I will never recommend people from NYC to go to their outlet store to buy glasses and have them mailed. The customer service on phone call and mailing is just horrible! read more

I've worn glasses for about 35 years now. I've always avoided LensCrafters because I've heard bad things about the people who work there and their prices. To top it off, my prescription is so whack that I always need to special order my glasses or contacts, they can't be done in an hour, so why bother with this chain? I was in desperate need for glasses, after having these for 5 years, and decided to make an appointment on my day off during the week. Plus, I kicked off the year with my flexible spending account in full! John, the receptionist, was a cool guy. He recommended his frames (which I ended up with). Dr. Brenda Chan was great! I really enjoyed chatting with her about my eyes and my long history with glasses. After my exam and picking out my frames, I was SHOCKED to learn that they were able to have my glasses ready in an hour! I can't convey to you people how shocking that is to me!!! Technology must have progressed a lot in 5 years to make this possible! I also felt good about the move to everything electronic here, all the machines to test your eyes and record keeping. We bought a new pair of RayBans in March. After about five wears the lens popped out. We brought it in a month ago to get fixed. The man helping us said he will contact RayBan and ask if they can do anything. Today we came as no one had called us back with any useful information. The assistant said she can't do anything, they called us (they did not), she may be able to give us a deal on a new pair. This is not the way to handle a paying customer who has purchased over 5 pairs of glasses from them. read more

Terrible service. Lenses were incorrect. I am still fighting for my money back for the exam so I can get it done elsewhere. I was reimbursed for the lenses, but if I didn't call the insurance company, they would not have been reimbursed for what they paid and I wouldn't have coverage for the new pair. They would have kept the insurance payment. read more

Awful experience. The sales people lied about taking my insurance. I waited over an hour for my appointment. They tried to make me pay for an eye exam my insurance covered. Also they never called or texted to let me know my glasses were ready. When I went to pick up my glasses they asked to confirm my telephone number to see why I didn't get the text message. It was correct. I called corporate and they never followed up on my phone call. They too were surprised that they said they took my insurance because even he knew they didn't take It. read more
