I recently went to this location to get my biannual eye exam and was very pleased with the optometrist Dr. Abraham and his technician. At the end of the exam the doctor told me someone was going to help me pick some glasses as he spoke to one of the staff. This location gets pretty busy so there was a lot of waiting before someone could acknowledge me. After waiting quite a bit one of the representatives helped me get the glasses. After getting back home I changed my mind and wanted different glasses so I called the store the day after and they said there was no problem with that. I came by later in the afternoon ready to switch frames and I was initially helped by the same person that helped me the day before but this time she was very annoyed by my request and she asked someone else to help me. I switched from cheap frames to Meta glasses and it seemed like an easy thing to do for them so I don't get why this lady looked so annoyed. Avoid the LensCrafters at 6 March Avenue in Manchester, NH. They sold me a One Year Eyewear Protection Plan and then refused to honor it while it was still active. The staff incorrectly claimed it was expired even after I showed them the written contract. I was bounced between the store, corporate, and Asurion for months with no resolution. It got so bad that a representative from the NH Insurance Department stepped in to help -- and she was also given conflicting information by both LensCrafters and Asurion. Even with a state regulator involved, the store still wouldn't take responsibility. This is the worst customer service I've experienced, and I strongly warn others not to buy their protection plans. read more

Called Lens Crafters after getting an email stating it's time for an eye exam. My ex and I had an account there so I asked if it was still open as I wasn't sure that I cancelled it. My ex would charge things up and never pay for them so I would be stuck with the bill. On the phone I asked if they could check to see if the account was still open. I was told they cannot do that over the phone and I would have to come in. Then I was told that they wouldn't be able to tell me anything unless I bought a pair of glasses. WTH? I need to buy a pair of glasses to check an account??? Will not ever go back there! I pray I closed the account because if not, they will never get their money if he orders on the account! read more

Very disappointed in lensCrafters They simply do not care that the customer has been subjected to bad customer service on top of shoddy workmanship. Four months after I bought a pair of glasses, the lens popped out---they refused to replace the lens for free. I cited that this was due to poor workmanship, and someone didn't bother to do their job right. A few days later I found the lens and brought it in, so they could just pop it back into the frame. They said there were "other customers in front" of me and that I "would have to wait." I dropped it off and made a special trip to pick up the glasses a few hours later. I just think that if the customer buys something and it breaks or detaches due to sellers poor workmanship that the customer should be immediately addressed above brand new customers, I feel like once Lenscrafters has the customer in their back pocket they just don't care. Furthermore they did not produce my progressive lens within one hour, or even one week but rather two weeks later, just like all the other retail glasses outlets; in my view that is false advertising. read more

I went into the LensCrafters at the Mall of New Hampshire on 04/30/23 for their 40th anniversary sale. I left very disappointed after I found out that you could only take advantage of their 40% sale if I wasn't using my eye insurance which is completely counter-intuitive and deceptive. I was going to purchase some prescription glasses along with a pair sunglasses but if I used my insurance for the prescription, I could not get the sale. If I use my insurance and instead of the sale, I need to pay full price for the additional sunglasses which defeats the purpose of the sale. I had to prepare my insurance documents, drive all the way to the mall, walk to the LensCrafters, shop for the glasses I want - just to be told at the end that the two could not be used together. Very deceptive in my opinion. The real kicker is that through the whole experience, the store market manager was very rude and condescending. She gave me attitude when I said that I didn't want the floor model sunglasses, she gave me an attitude when I asked what difference in cost between the two options would be, and she gave me attitude when I asked her to explain the sale restrictions in more details. This sale was very deceptive, how many people with eye insurance ended up driving all the way to the store just to be disappointed that they did not qualify for the sale if they planned to use their insurance anyway? I'd rather just buy the frames and lenses online at a lower price. I've been a customer of LensCrafters for years now and I honestly can't see myself being bothered to go back again. "Glasses in an Hour - or 27+ Days; Whatevs." I paid for a pair of glasses on Tuesday June 3rd and was told they'd be ready by the next day at the latest, because they were having a slight issue with the lab. I was fine with that. Friday rolls around and I called them to see what was up. I'm told that they "weren't happy with how the lenses came out" so they decided to send them out to have them done. Again, I can deal with that, but I didn't understand why they didn't call me to update me - I had specifically requested that they call me when my glasses were ready, so they had my number. Apologies ensue. Skipping forward to the next Tuesday, 7 days after order. I stop by this time, and I'm told they're still not ready. No estimate of when they'd be ready was provided. More empty apologies. Now it's two weeks later. No phone calls, no updates, no glasses! I call again and they say they're not ready. Great. THREE WEEKS LATER. Today. I try one more time. Now I get an estimate at least - of June 30th. This is just an *estimate* of course. Who knows when they'll be ready? I sure won't because no one seems to want to call me and let me know! :) I'm heading down there shortly to get my refund and make sure they know that neither I nor anyone I know will ever do business with them again. ***UPDATE*** The General Manager of the store convinced to give them another shot. He said he had the lens they needed in stock, but it wasn't a gradient lens per my order. I decided to try it. I went to pick them up today... and they were literally Coke Bottle lenses. Horrifying. I have 4 other pairs of glasses and/or sunglasses and NONE of them are even remotely close to these monsters in thickness. Got my refund on the spot. Ordered contacts here, they got lost and they were no help. They told me to put in a claim but there were restrictions on their end so I was unable too. It took 3 weeks from when I originally ordered them for them to fix it and put In a claim. They never called back when they said they would. And will not be going here again. read more

The quality is just not there, I purchased three pairs here before going to a new eye doctor. The lenses become spotty after a short time, and I had to use my insurance to replace them every time. The last set I had, I asked to have them replaced, using my insurance and they told me the spots were due to a defect in the lenses and they replaced them for free. Wonderful, except they only stayed spot free for three or 4 months and when I went back was told they were out of warranty, over a year old and the spots were my fault. They were only a few months old, I only cleaned them as I was instructed to, and were giving me headaches. I will never recommend these to anyone. Glasses in an hour, yes you get them quick, but they are not worth it. The process they use to make them in an hour does not result in a quality lens. You are better off going somewhere else and waiting the 7 to 10 days for a quality product. Also the customer service could be better from both the store and online customer service. read more

I strongly urge folks looking in the area, to continue looking. I cannot speak for LensCrafters nationally; this is concerning my visit to this specific store in the Mall. My experience: I have worn glasses for thirty years and contacts for 16 years. I was in the military, and with my travels I've been to maybe twenty different optometrists. I assure you this LensCrafters was the worst among them. Short version of my review: Overpriced, rude, inadequate exam, incomplete exam despite full cost; deceptively offered more for my cost then after payment said I would not get what the sign said. Longer version of my review, if interested: (1) Overpriced - Cost is about $50 higher than other local optometrists for eye exam and so-called "contact lens fitting". (2) Rude - Counter clerk was nice, but the optometrist was rude. For example, you know the drill about which looks better, one or two? You better not ask this guy for a do-over, because he's not interested in your nuanced needs. Laughable. (3) Inadequate exam - Quickly ran through the exam (which is better one or two) and wrote something down. Did not ask in the end whether I could read that bottom line, just said, "You're all set." (4) Incomplete exam - This is perhaps the point that upset me the most, this or the one I'll get to next. I was there for a contact lens prescription. For this, one needs to get the eye exam (which is better one or two) and also what LensCrafters called a "contact lens fitting". Please note that this alleged contact lens fitting cost me an additional $80. What did it include? I had brought in the empty package from my contacts from two years prior to my visit. The optometrist wrote exactly what I bought in an empty box of, gave it to me as his prescription for my contacts and said, "You're all set." (4b) So what did he not do as a part of the $80 mandatory surcharge for a "contact lens fitting"? - Did not ask whether I was having any problems with my former contact prescription, which I was. They moved around too much, and I also wanted to know whether a newer type could be better for my astigmatism as well as oxygen flow. - Never saw a contact in my eyes. Amazing to charge $80 to fit something that he never ever brought into the room. The big window sign says "free" pair of contacts with exam (and the $80 surcharge for the free contacts, of course). I went in with my glasses, and he didn't give me any contacts to "fit" them or to just give them to me "for free" both of which are on gigantic window signs right next to us, and I left with my glasses. (5) Deceptively offered more for my cost then after payment said I would not get what the sign said - again, that it was mandatory that I pay the "contact lens fitting" fee, even though they did no such thing, and that I would not be getting that "free" pair of contact lenses for my $80 either. Before paying, I asked the desk clerk whether I had to pay the $80 surcharge for what they call a contact lens fitting. He said that I did. As I was paying the desk clerk, holding only my prescription for the contacts I had two years ago, I asked the kid, "Why does that big sign we are standing next to say that I will get a 'free pair of contacts' with the 'contact lens fitting' charge of $80?" The clerk said that I should have. So I told him I did not receive anything - no "free pair" of contacts, no contact lens fitting. He went back to ask this optometrist. When the clerk came back out he relayed that the optometrist said they don't carry the brand I used to use, so he couldn't fit test them or give me the "free" pair. THERE ARE TWO KEY CONCERNS HERE: #1 I had to pay $80 for a fitting, which he refused to do #2 That $80 was supposed to include a "free pair" of contacts, which he refused to give me. And I did not want a prescription for my old brand and strength. I wanted an actual eye exam and a properly fitting contact lens prescription. They are a despicable place to do business, based on my experience. read more

I went to this store because all of my previous Eyewear purchases had been at Lenscrafters in Danvers. Well, first you have to get past the staff, most of which are rude and have no business interacting in a "customer service" role. I bought two pairs of glasses less than 8 months ago. I had a skin reaction to the nose pads almost immediately. So I went to the store and was told it was "probably the pads. We'll replace them and if it continues, come back and we'll replace them for free." I went to the store today. Low and behold, I'll have to pay for the new pair and after my insurance, I get a great deal. I only have to pay another $149.00! Wait, what? Wow! So let me get this right. I spend literally thousands of dollars over the years with your company. I complain about an allergic reaction to the glasses. Your ill prepared workers do not disclose any of my options when I come in the first time. So now, because I followed the advice of your staff, I get to spend another $149.00 out of pocket, not to mention what my insurance will cough up, on top of the $549.64 I had already spent on just the one pair of glasses that I am allergic to? Thank you for the corporate screwing Lenscrafters. Me, my insurance and my money will not spend another penny in your stores ever again. The way I buy glasses, you're losing a lot of money not to mention all of my future business for me, my daughter and anyone else who ever asks me for a reference for Eyewear. I've worn glasses now for 20 yrs. I need lenes with near and far as well reading. My original pair broke, desperate for replacement pair I visited Lens Crafters! I paid for a new exam by their eye doctor and waited for my new glasses (3 hour window). Everything, seemed great until I left the store got in my car went home to my everyday lifestyle. I returned to LensCrafters 5Xs for issues on their part like the coating they put on my lenses kept spotting making it difficult to see! After the third time I asked them to remove this "coating"! Each visit, though I paid for insurance, cost me additionally $25 a visit, so why did I pay for insurance??? I was also having issues with the 3sight dimension lenses which they blamed on the size frames I chose, though they were the same size I've worn prior, for years! Well I let them change my frames and start over! Disaster!!! I've had headaches daily, I'm so frustrated with this company I can't even return . I'm 64 yrs old, on a budget, this experience cost me over $500 and I'm still wearing their defective lenses leaving me with headaches daily, and the left lens not set in the frame properly and lenses that seem to only have mid range sight! (Though I paid for three ranges) I can't read a book or use my cell phone (texts etc) without straining to hold the reading material arms length out then struggling because of the distance and size of letters to read!!! It's been 6 months I've lived with these glasses. after the New Year and $$$Christmas, I plan on going back to my trusted Walmart Vision care! For years they've given me incredibly fantastic service and products! I only went to lens crafters out of a time line situation, (pandemic and the wait list was month long at Walmart) but, needing the fastest service is not worth the cost, frustration, or my health! Worst customer service ever! It started with being greeted by the Dr office manager by her telling me we had to pay an additional $35 when there were 3 of us for some kind of imaging . I declined this and she tried to tell me I couldn't finally I convinced her I didn't want it done and wasn't paying for it. The dr was nice but I have double vision not single vision which he forgot until I reminded him. Then came the purchasing of glasses. I dealt with a gentleman that had no patience and did not know his job well. The manager had to get involved. To show him how to do his job. He kept telling me I was wrong on what my insurance covers when I knew what I paid last year and the plan year did not change. Finally the manager who was wearing sunglasses inside ( which was odd) got involved again and took over. I will never go there again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone it was a very frustrating situation. I went to this location as it was in the mall and figured it would be fast and easy, both sale reps were working with other clients so I was looking at frames.. I was the only other person eat that time.. about 10 mins later two gentlemen came in also looking at frames. A sales rep went to them and asked if they needed help before me. About 10 more mins the other sales rep was returning frames to the displays right next to me and never acknowledge me. Than was hanging at the store opening people watching. I booked an annual eye appointment here because it was easy to do online and they were close to my house. The people at the counter were great, but the optometrist was rude and indifferent. I walked out with an updated prescription I could not trust due to a poorly conducted and incomplete test. It was clear the optometrist did not care, but merely wanted to see as many patients as possible. I would rather drive another 15-20 minutes to never return to LensCrafters. I walked in with an open mind because the convenience was great, but I would never recommend them to anyone now. read more

Went to NH Eye Associates who fixed the remaining lens installed improperly by Lenscrafters which caused the lost lens to fall out in the first place and put in one new lens for $39! I spent 230.00 on Burberry frames. Within 3 months time the paint was peeling off of the frames at the top. Very noticeable to all. I went back and said I want a different frame. They said no to a different frame and because I didn't purchase a warranty they didn't have to replace them at all! I don't know what these other reviewers are complaining about as I have never had bad experiences with this particular Lens Crafters and I have been going there for many years. I went there again today to have new lenses made for my 2 year old frames. I had stopped at a competitor's shop earlier to get a price for the same work and after several discounts Lens Crafter's price was cheaper by $24 (approximately 10% less). Lens Crafters had lenses in stock that met my new prescription so after an hour's wait they had fitted them into my old frames and I was ready to go. So contrary to the opinions written by others, I like this particular Lens Crafters and will continue to do business with them. read more

My girlfriend works as a receptionist and she has had trouble with her eyes recently. So we decided to stop into lens crafters to get her an eye exam and eye glass prescription. Her and I are in our early 20's and this was her first ever real eye exam. So we were both entirely new to this process. We walk in and tell one of the sale reps that we have an eye exam and they go and find the optometrists assistant. She then takes us into a room to run a few tests on my girlfriends eyes. At this point everything is going good , it takes about 10 minutes to take the pictures they need for her eyes. We were then escorted to the main room to run a few vision tests with the optometrist. This is where the problem begins. She sits down and he puts the machine to her face and almost instantly starts with the test. He doesn't describe what he's doing , all he says is "is it better or worse?" As he shuffles through each slide. She and I both felt confused as to what was going on at this point. She starts to tell him the troubles she's having seeing up close on her computer screen along with street signs that are at a semi distant range. He essentially silences these concerns by saying her vision isnt that bad and that it happens to a lot of people who work at computer screens. Mind you she's 20 and has only been working at this desk for a year. Towards the end She asks again "what about the distance?" He proceeds to tell her that from the slides that he used to test her vision that they indicate she should be able to see completely fine from a distance and that it's only her up close vision she needs to be concerned with. Although during the 5 minutes of slides he never once said if she could see, only whether it was better or worse. When in reality each and every slide was difficult for her to see but she didn't know what to say except yes or no to his barrage of better or worse questions. At the very end she kept expressing her concerns for her vision at a distance and all he said to her was she could possibly need two pairs of glasses. One for reading and one for driving. Which I or her had never heard of but weren't entirely sure at that point. He proceeds to recommend glare reduction for her reading glasses since she's at a computer screen. Which in my opinion she just needs her vision fixed not the glare reduced. As we pack up to leave the office she tells him about our financial situation and if there were any payment plans she could use due to the fact we live pay check to pay check currently. He tell her there is one but after we got done talking to a sales rep they explained you needed credit in order to receive the payment plan. A simple no the our questions on the payment plan would have been better than to take us through the process just to get denied since she doesn't have any credit. All in all we left feeling robbed of what we payed for. She didn't receive a proper exam , we were left curious whether we needed two or one pair of glasses, and we never received a diagnoses. A printed copy of her prescription or anything. Lastly , we have to now wait 6 months for her insurance to allow her to receive a proper eye exam from a optometrist who cares about their patients and can give her what she needs to fix the problem. I only wanted an eye exam. Walmart in Hooksett NH had a 2 week wait. Went online and saw Lens Crafters in the Mall of NH, just up the street from work. Decided to see if I could get an appoinment for 8/17, a Saturday, as I had to work anyway. It was Friday night, 8/16. Was able to get one for 1:20pm Saturday. Submitted my insurance card that night. Arrived at 1pm. Was greeted immediately even though the place was busy. Told me my insurance was all set and I paid my $20 co-pay and $39 for digital imaging instead of dilation. Was asked to go into the room behind me and the associate followed. Instead of having me fill out all the medical questions, she simply asked me and wrote it for me. She did some initial checking on my eyes and then sent me into the Dr's room. I barely sat down and in he came.. no wait and early.. it still wasn't 1:20 yet! He was very pleasant. Checked 3 pair of glasses that I had brought. Explained a few things. Said my eyes had no big issues other than a slight near sightedness. Never felt rushed by him. He brought my prescription to one of the clerks. She asked what I wanted to look at first. I told her that I had a frame and lens program through work that I was going to use and not be buying from Lens Crafters. She said.. "Thats fine. Thank you for coming" and I told her I was pretty impressed with my visit. She asked that if I could, please give a review.. so here I am. Best eye exam EVER. Second time there, I though I give them a second chance , this was my last time. They talked so confusion about the price that, I ask them to write it down. At the end they still charged my credit card more than $100 over. Finally after long ...one other person refunded me the money. Still not over, they did a retinal scan. I ask only to do what insurance cover. Insurance told me only diabetic or risk diabetic. I wouldn't have taken the scan if I knew. Two weeks ago I went to my local Lenscrafters (Mall of NH in Manchester, NH) and ordered a new pair of progressives, a pair of computer glasses, and a pair of prescription sunglasses, spending close to $900. I bummed around the mall and came back to the store for my sunglasses and computer glasses. The progressives had to be sent out to a lab and would be available in a week (give or take). My computer glasses were fine. That was just a lens replacement. However, I didn't even get the sunglasses on my face before I saw that the lenses were two different colors. Not two completely different colors, but one lens was way darker than the other. I got an apology and was asked to come back in another hour. Well, having a life, I told them I couldn't hang around for another hour and I would have to come back the next day. The next day I came back for my sunglasses and this time, one of the lenses had streaks across it. Wow... really? You screwed them up twice? OK... I'm a normally patient person. I had wanted them for a trip I was about to take, but whatever... I told them I would pick them up when my progressives were ready. I went on my trip and today (my first opportunity) I went back to pick up the progressives and the sunglasses. My sunglasses ONCE AGAIN had two different colored lenses. Are you kidding me!!?? I didn't even put them on. I gave them back to the guy and said "Look at them and tell me what you see." He didn't even look. He mumbled something like, "Oh, sorry, I must have smudged them." And he wiped them off. I said "No, LOOK at them. Hold them against a white surface." So he did. I said, "Apparently, the THIRD time wasn't the charm." He "got it" and excused himself and came back with a lab technician who gave me a bunch of lame business about how the technician must have tried to remove the lines that were there and "inadvertently" removed half of the coating, blah, blah..." I said, this is the THIRD TIME I've come to pick these up. This is becoming downright STUPID. How about you redo both lenses at the same time instead of just messing with one at a time and getting it wrong?" So she said, "Yes, that's what I just said I was going to do. They will be ready for you in an hour, if you'd like to come back." I said I can't come back today and to call me when they get them right. In the mean time, the service guy gives me the progressives I ordered. I try them on and they aren't clear. He futzes with them several billion times and I'm still seeing ghosts when I look at small text up close. He then drags in the optometrist who assures me the prescription is correct. I tell him, "That's great, but when I put on my old glasses they are crystal clear and when I put these on, things up close are ghosty." The two of them went into the back and I could hear the optometrist telling the other guy to straighten out the issue because a third party lab made the glasses and working with the lab isn't in his (the optometrist's) job description (Not in so many words, but that was the gist). So the guy comes out and tells me that the optometrist figured out that the lab that made them had the position of my pupils wrong so the glasses have to be remade. Was I pissed? Well, I dunno... would you be pissed if you spent nearly $1000 two weeks ago on glasses and they screw them up left and right and you STILL don't have anything to show for the money you spent? Bottom line... I will NEVER do business with this company again, and neither should you. read more

Terrible experience! I only wish I had read the reviews before making an appointment for an eye exam at the Lenscrafters in the Mall of NH. I had made an appointment because the Lenscrafters on March Ave didn't have any appointments later in the day so I figured what was the worst that can happen?! When making the appointment online there were so many openings I figured it would be slow considering it was a Monday night. Boy, was I wrong. When we got there we were told they were running 20 - 30 minutes late because they ALWAYS double book appointments and was told they do this "to allow people like you" to get an appointment and that it "usually works out" (for who them?!) but sometimes it doesn't. Well, geez, had I known I wouldn't have bothered making the appointment. Almost like a bait and switch strategy where they get you to come in and figure you'll think you're better off waiting then going somewhere else. I waited with my daughter 40 minutes past our appointment time but the last straw was when the doctor came out and seemed so arrogant and completely unapologetic. That did it for me, we left even though she was "just about to be taken in" for the pre-screening. At that point, I didn't even want to give the doctor or this store my business. Wish I'd read the reviews before I went back. I had a decent experience last winter. The optometrist was good enough and the people were nice enough. I went back in the end of December to use my vision insurance that was about to expire. I told them that I was out of insurance at the end of the month. They swore up and down that the only appt that they had was on the 30th at 5pm. I called at the beginning of the month. Long ugly story short, I had told them I had to be out by 630 "No problem" they said. I waited for 50 full minutes. there was one other person in the store, no one told me the doctor was running late, every one saw me sitting there waiting after check in. When I went up to the desk to say I was leaving because there wasn't enough time, the woman said, "we aren't running behind." I inquired why I was left sitting there for 50 minutes if that was the case. She shrugged. They were rude, unapologetic. I sent a note to corporate to complain. Lucky me, someone from the store called to tell me that they were upset I complained and places run late. Seriously?? Stay away! read more
