I have been going there for several years and in my opinion of all the different eye doctors I've been to - Dr Dileo is the best.

I walking in, it was a December day, and I found the office was pretty HOT.I didn't think it was that cold out to be that hot inside, but maybe the ac was out or something. The medical secretary or receptionist, had greeted me, but there wasn't much warmth coming from her - no pun intended. Maybe she was hot but regardless, it didn't feel like a very welcoming atmosphere as my first impression. I went to get my eye pressure tested as that is routine for my eyes. And the antiquated machine they use, blows air into your eyes to capture the pressure. At least she warned me and I hesitated but went ahead with it. It freaking really BLOWS AIR! Which I am sure included dust with that air, and with my allergic conjunctivitis condition, makes everything worse. And I already had inflammation going on as it was. That was one of the reasons for my visit, to see if there was anything new in the world of dry eye for inflammation and to get an eye exam. After that somewhat painful eye pressure test, I go to the back to see the doctor, mentioned to him I did not like that machine for the eye pressure - that really, they should be using the gun test or the light test like every other eye doctor uses. He apologized, but the damage was done. He goes ahead and does the eye exam not addressing my inflammation or that it could affect my eye exam. He was a good listener at least and offered some other dry eye relief ideas. So, a couple of days later, my eyes were so much more inflamed from that eye pressure blower, I had to go to another eye dr for steroids and after a week of that, got another eye exam when the inflammation was finally down and it was completely different than the one, I got here. This trip was a total waste of time and only caused more discomfort. I really hope they no longer use that eye pressure blower machine and I am just glad it was not worse.

Thankfully, I do not need glasses at my tender age of 46 lol but who knows the future except God. So, while the wait was a bit longer than usual (per the assistant), she was able to get her glasses today, YAY!! That was a definite plus for us! According to the other reviews and his assistant, Dr. Tran is pretty good at what he does and his compassion appears to extend to every patient. From what I'm told, he also knows how to identify issues of the eye, just like any ophthalmologist. Seems like I'll be making an appointment for a wellness exam here soon and I feel comfortable recommending this optometrist for your eye care needs.

My experience was so pleasant! The staff is knowledgeable & friendly. I particularly loved being seen on time and not double-booked. The office is easy to find, clean, and the selection of frames is definitely fair. The doctor was extremely attentive, patient and thorough. Seriously not one complaint about this place, ladies n gents. I have been back twice since my initial visit, once for frames and once for dilation. I'm always greeted with a smile and I was flattered that the staff remembered my name. :-) (I could tell he hadn't noticed my name on the appointment sheet because he asked what I was in for.) Final Answer: Dope & highly recommended.

It actually looks as if there is a coating over the lenses that is wearing off in small areas. When I took my glasses back to Eyemasters, the clerk glanced at the lenses for approximately 3 seconds, then told me that the glasses were permanently damaged from hairspray. I told her I haven't used hairspray since 1989 during an unfortunate spiral perm incident. She then repeated that Eyemasters can't fix lenses damaged from hairspray. I then repeated my lack of recent hairspray experience. She finally asked if I visited hair salons. I told her yes, once every 2 months. That, she triumphantly responded, is where the hairspray damage must have come from. You're supposed to put your glasses away in a case when visiting hair salons to protect them from damage, apparently. Which is weird, since many of the stylists at my salon actually wear their glasses on their faces and don't seem to have any problems with damaged lenses. Since previous lenses purchased elsewhere somehow survived my salon visits (and even that embarrassing big hair decade) without a single spot, I can only conclude that Eyemasters offers subpar, poorly designed lenses. Buyer beware.

However, I recently went for a contact lens examination and was given trial contacts that were "about the same price" as my old lenses. I went on a Saturday and was told to call in a few days to let them know whether I liked the new lenses. I called back on Monday and was put on hold twice and talked to three people before I was told that the doctor was not in and I would have to call back on Wednesday. When I called on Wednesday half an hour before closing I was told the doctor had already left and they would call me on Thursday. When they called Thursday, the lady gave me the price for a completely different brand of contacts than the ones I was given to try. When I asked what the trial lens price was, I was put on hold, spoke to another person, and was put on hold AGAIN for so long that I just hung up. When I finally talked to someone who had the price for the trial lenses, I was told a price that was a lot more than expected and ended up ordering my old contacts. The people here are very uninformed about their products, are fans of putting people on hold for long periods of time, and the doctor seems to be out of the office more than he is in. Oh, and this Eyemasters is NOT inside Lakeside mall.

Bathroom was in need of attention. It is a large practice. I wanted to go to the uptown office but because I wanted evaluation for cataracts, I had to go to the Metairie office. I was seen by a technician who wore sweatpants as a uniform. Seriously? She did the refraction. Several times I told her that the images were NOT clear to me. Eyes examined and seen by Dr. Kurica who said I didn't have cataracts. Great. Given an rx and he said, "It's practically the same as your old one; I just tweaked it a bit". Got glasses made at Costco and the rx was WAY off. Costco said there was a BIG difference between previous rx and new one. Definitely not a "tweaking". Tried to get a return appointment for correction and was told I had to see same doctor and got an appointment for 3 weeks later! For second visit, the waiting room was completely packed. Several people in wheelchairs. Was seen by same technician as first time. When I explained my situation she immediately blamed Costco for error. When I pointed out that the rx he gave me was significantly different from my previous rx, in spite of him telling me he only "tweaked it", she said, "Well his idea of tweaking is bigger than our idea of it". ???? Went back to waiting room but it was so crowded I chose to wait in the hall. Looked like a COVID factory in there. My appointment was at 1:45. By 3:00 I still had not seen the doctor. I asked a few times about the delay and was told they were really busy (obviously). Clearly he was over scheduled. Finally I grabbed the doc between exam rooms and told him I'd been there since 1:45. Shortly after I was roomed. Doctor came in and did his own refraction and admitted the technician did it wrong. Gave me new rx. So I had two visits and an afternoon blown because of technician's incompetence. Not to mention time and material wasted by Costco. Now I have to go back and get another pair. I do not recommend this practice. No offense to Dr. Kurica but his staff needs training and improved dress code to look professional, and scheduling needs correction.
