I highly recommend this place if you, like me, have need for corrective lenses. I initially picked…read morethis place because it was near work and some coworkers raved about how awesome Dr. Brenda Murray is. I no longer work quite so close to Evendale, but I still make the yearly trek here to have my vision checked. Dr. Murray is an absolutely delightful person who does a great job making sure you will be able to see properly. Also, she either keeps super detailed notes or just has an amazing memory, because she will remember little details about you from visit to visit. That is not something I've found to be a common trait in many doctors. The place is a bit off the beaten path. But if you can find the light at the Wendy's on Reading in Evendale, that is where McSwain Drive is- across from the Wendy's, all the way up the hill, and then to the right. As a side note, I've also gotten some of the cutest glasses I've ever worn from them. Not only that, but whenever the awesome lady is who picks out frames for you to try (sadly I forget her name) has handed me a pair and said, "Oh, this would look cute on you." And sure enough, that was the pair I walked away purchasing. Usually I am stuck in an eye doctor's office for at least an hour, hemming and hawing over which frame to buy, but not here. And that has happened twice so far in the last 3 or 4 years I have been going here.

I've been going to this optometry practice for years (through 6-7 insurance changes) and I love it…read more I always see Dr. Jutte, who is very well-spoken and personable. The staff all know what they're doing, and they're friendly and efficient about it. The office is a little obscured from the road due to some aggressive shrubbery from a neighboring property, but once you know where to turn in, you're fine. There's plenty of parking, the office is clean, and the exams are thorough but quick. They're also reasonably priced, and offer discounts if you need to pay out of pocket instead of by insurance. I appreciate that they always give me a few pairs of contacts to tide me over until my order comes in, and they have a good selection of glasses. They also didn't mind me spending an hour trying on dozens of pairs, lol. In all, I couldn't be happier, and I would definitely still drive out here for my annual eye exam even if I ever moved away from the neighborhood.

I sat here for 5 minutes and was brought back to the examanation room and was told the Dr. would be right in. I waited 25 minutes and nothing! I got up and left and told the receptionist that I was not waiting any longer as I saw him go into another room 20 minutes into my wait so who knows how long I would be sitting there! Terrible practice sice they've lost all of their other eye doctors! Don't waste your time here

I figure if I have allergies (and in Cincy, who doesn't?), then I might as well get paid for them. On the initial visit they do a skin test to make sure you're allergic to any grass, ragweed, animals, etc in order to qualify for the study. The next several visits consist of reading a standard eye chart, getting eyedrops of different dosages of allergens, and eye doctors examining your eyes every few minutes to evaluate the degree of allergic reactions. Very simple, no daily diary or medicines to keep track of like in other research studies, easy money. The drawbacks are: having to drive out to Fairfield mostly on weekend days, having to wait until a couple weeks after the study ends to get paid, and the study staff isn't very personable. For $600 though, it's definitely worth it.

The entire Apex Eye organization is Awesome!! I go through my appointments & surgeries knowing I am in good hands. When you meet people who go to the same doctor as you, usually you get an "oh I go there too". Not with Dr C - EVERY person I have met who also sees him or has seen him starts the conversation with "Don't you just Love him! He is the Best!" If you have eye issues, THIS is the place to go!!

I had been a patient at Wal-Mart vision centers for the last couple of years, since I had no vision insurance and then for a year no insurance at all. I was so pleasantly surprised to be reminded what a real eye-exam was like. Dr. Staarmann (the male Dr. Staarmann, his wife works there too!) was friendly and pleasant. He came in and introduced himself and asked me a few questions about my eyes and vision. He took his time with my vision test and really seemed to be invested in making sure I got the right prescription. He also did a few more tests before informing me that the way I had been wearing my contacts was harming my eyes. I had NO idea! Turns out I was wearing my contacts too long and it was causing some irritation to my eyelids. He recommended that I come back for a visit in 6 months to check my eye health. I was really impressed. Afterwards, I chose to get glasses as well as contacts, and the friendly staff helped me select a pair right there in the office. For an eye doctor, they had a large selection of very chic frames. They were very patient with me, because I was being very picky! I wasn't too sure about the glasses I chose, but I picked them up today and have been wearing them for about an hour. I love them!
