He is such a gentle, patient, and charismatic art teacher who made painting fun for people of all ages. Leo is an incredible art teacher for all ages! My daughter thought she could not create art very well and would not paint or draw. After lessons with Leo she loves art again and has a wall full of art she created herself! She has also participated in some of the MM beautification projects. It is delightful to see their work. Leo reignited my long lost interest in art and more specifically painting. A friend invited me to a birthday party and it was one of the most entertaining birthdays that I have attended. Leo was our instructor, he was patient, knowledgable and made painting our masterpieces ;) look easy. I would recommend Leo and his art party/class to anyone who would like a fun and entertaining experience for any event. Leo also offers one-on-one lessons and the first Saturday of every month he has a paint party at a brewery in Mira Mesa. I am planning on checking the brewery paint out sometime soon too. read more

Leo taught a painting class for my sister's 40th bday party. I've been to many wine and paint nights and Leo was truly the best and well priced. Leo is a great art instructor! I hired him for a private 2.5 hr family event in the backyard. He is extremely laid back and chill. He brought all the art supplies for 15 people, and was very accommodating for all the requests - lots of questions from the family and extra paint needed. We chose a medium level painting, and even though we're not Picasso or Gogh, Leo was able to guide us through step by step and we all ended up with pretty decent works of art. I'm a mom of 4 years old boy. Since i've tried art, soccer, swim, and gymnastics every group classes, my boy never been happy. But now, he loves this art private lesson. He's having a lot of fun with Mr. Leo every time. He really likes his teacher. My boy enjoys painting and also learning various art activities. I am so glad I found such a great art private teacher. Specialties

I am a community artist that specialize in teaching studio arts to all ages. I help support students who benefit from personal art instruction to grow in not only technique, but also understanding. I studied Studio Arts at SDSU where I focused on painting and illustration. I teach fundamentals such as drawing and painting in various mediums. I have longtime students who take me to build up their portfolios and practice their skills with. My art teaching is specific to my student's artistic goals. The other part of my business is that I host two hour paint party events. I have fun with people as we navigate through an image of their choosing. I provide all the supplies and know-how and my clients (kids or adults) provide the interest and we have a good time! What sets me apart from other places is that my time and effort comes back to my community. If you are ever in Mira Mesa and noticed the painted electrical boxes that is a project I started to beautify the area.

Established in 2018.

I used to be an art teacher in San Diego till 2015 working with kids of different ages. I then moved to the mid-west for three years and continued working there in art. I am now teaching art via private tutoring, group classes and workshops in various locations of San Diego. I also provide paint party services.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Arts from San Diego State University with a focus on painting and illustration. I have students of all age ranges taking professional art classes and/or fun workshops. I offer both group and private classes to all ages as well. I have strong traditional fine arts skills with some photoshop knowhow and I use a range of wet and dry media such as acrylics, gouache, charcoal, oil, ink, and pastels to name a few.

I am always surprised with the art work they come home with... the art is very creative, fun, and beautiful. I love that they introduce different materials (different paints, clays, etc.) and the kids really take ownership in their art work. We proudly display many of their art pieces and even send some to grandparents to enjoy. It's a cute little family owned branch located in the same plaza at Bad Ass Coffee/ Pitchers Sports Bar in Rancho Penasquitos. Ms. Alicia is the Principal/ Branch Owner. She exercises strong communication, is very approachable and kind, and coordinates great lessons (so there's new activities throughout the week). I also appreciate that she has a team of assistants to coordinate each class and to ensure the kids are supported. Most of all, she creates wonderful memories during the moments the kids are out of school (saving the sanity of parents balancing work). And yet, now Julian models those same behaviors. FDL teachers are kind and warm, but firm. They set a high bar, and the kids rise to meet it. At the same time, there is tremendous fun had on the daily at this school. Julian greets me at pick up with a big smile and a hug, his cheeks flushed from play and sand in his shoes. He excitedly shows me his projects and tells me funny stories and things he learned from the day. FDL is exceptional. If you have the chance to send your child there, take it. You would be hard pressed to find a more loving and capable setting. We will miss it terribly!

Several daycares/preschools in the region claim to be Spanish immersion but aren't actually (e.g., they speak English to the kiddos). At Lulus, I feel like we get a truly authentic Spanish immersion program for our son, knowing instruction is exclusively in Spanish. And it shows. My son 100% understands Spanish when it is spoken to him and he mixes Spanish and English in his vocabulary regularly. This is coming to an end for Aria at ABCD as she will start kindergarten soon. It is such a bittersweet moment. But at least I know I will bring my second daughter to her soon. Thanks Gladys and Pablo for loving her, caring for her from feeding 1 spoon of food at a time. She is now ready for K, and she is well equipped because of you. I prefer Art teachers who listen to me and have the patience to make feel free if you are looking for an Art teacher who has these characteristics, Leo is the one!! A very easygoing person with a nice attitude. After taking his classes I always feel relaxed with more ideas and motivated to continue painting. I suffered anxiety on a big level, painting is where I can express my feelings which is very important and Leo has been doing a great job helping me. The instruction is very detailed, clear and entertaining. We set up a time about a week in advance and discusses if there's anything specific I wanted to learn. I was open to anything so I was able to join in an existing group he had set for Sunday. I paid the registration fee on arrival and Leo brought all the materials needed and I just had to show up. He taught us how to use the brushes, dry brushing techniques, paint mixing and the right way to "reset" a brush to get the paint off of it before using lighter colors. The whole session was about 2 hours of time and he made all of it seem easy. My painting turned out great inspite of being a first timer! Will definitely take his classes again read more

My daughter had a great time during her painting class with Leo. Leo has a wonderful way of teaching technique and art elements in a relaxing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate way for the kids. I also like the fact that the classes are taught at the park which gives the kids the chance to play both before and after the class. The outdoor environment also makes the class more engaging as the kids are able to enjoy being outside, getting some sun, and fresh air. The lighting the kids get while painting outside is great too! My daughter can't wait to hang up her canvas she painted! Overall a great experience and will definitely have her attend another class! read more

I took my little cousin to Leo's group art class. The class was cheaper than the other instructors she's had but it was also surprisingly the best! She has had two different teachers the past year but she loved Leo's class so much we will be taking her there even though we are not from the area. She came up with an amazing painting in just 2 classes and is able to explain the techniques she used/learnt. Leo definitely knows what he is doing and I recommend him a 200%. read more
