    First lesson, chalk pastel

My kids are now 10 and 12 and went to Drawn2Art for a little over one year. They loved it and learned a lot with them. They learned how to work with pastel, watercolor and acrylic. The lessons were very nice and I was always impressed with their work when they brought things home - and they noticeably were getting better at it each time. Their instructors were great - I always heard from the kids that Mr. Kevin and Ms. Jordan were super nice. Their classes are small (not sure about the teacher-student ratio, maybe 1:8?...) and tuition is reasonable. The only thing that was a bit of an issue for me was to schedule makeup classes. They are a small studio and work pretty much at capacity, so sometimes it is extremely difficult to get a convenient spot for a makeup class if you miss one, especially if you have 2 kids and need to get 2 spots the same day/time. I feel like they do their best to address that and have a fairly good system in place to make it easier for the parents, but it's just hard the way it is because they have limited spots and classes are usually full. As the kids are getting older, they are becoming interested in other things and have asked me to try and sign up for other activities. Unfortunately, we dropped Drawn2Art because we just don't have enough time to do it all, but I would definitely come back in the future and recommend them to anybody looking for art classes. We had a great experience! I'm sharing, just for reference, a picture of my daughter's first lesson in chalk pastel (she did it in her first class) and her last project in acrylic.

I'm always impressed with what my 5 year old accomplishes here.the instructors walk around and help each child by suggesting a tip They are calm and patient. My child specifically loves that she can pick what she wants to draw. Each student is working on their own choice, independently.

My son is planning to transfer to Miramar College from another community college with hopes of eventually attending UC San Diego. Unfortunately, he had a difficult experience with administration at his previous school, so we were already feeling pretty discouraged and overwhelmed trying to navigate the transfer process. We attempted to contact the counseling office and called several different numbers without any luck. Finally, we tried another number we found on Google, and to our surprise, someone answered. We explained our situation, and the gentleman we spoke with apologized and explained that the entire SDCCD district network was currently down. Even though he worked at an off-site location and had limited access because of the outage, he still took the time to help us. He asked whether we were military affiliated, and when I explained that we were not and had simply found the number online while searching for Miramar counseling, he immediately said, "No problem, I'm here to help you." From that moment on, he went above and beyond. He patiently walked us through everything my son needed to get started with the transfer process and assured us that once the systems were restored, he would follow up with additional links and information. His optimism, kindness, and genuine excitement for my son's future at Miramar College were truly a breath of fresh air. By the end of the conversation, we both felt relieved, encouraged, and excited again about this next chapter. A few days later, just as promised, we received a detailed email with links for transcript evaluation, counseling appointments, financial aid, and additional resources. We want to give a huge thank you to Mr. Ron at the Miramar Base for his professionalism, compassion, and willingness to help complete strangers during a stressful time. People like him make such a difference. We only wish we had base access so we could thank him in person. We sincerely hope Miramar College administration sees this review and recognizes him for the outstanding support and care he provided.

As a mother who's always seeking new opportunities to expand my child's experience/ expression, I am thrilled that the kiddos enjoy this art studio so much. The kids always come back asking to attend another class because they had so much fun, made new friends, and are so proud of their final art work. I am always surprised with the art work they come home with... the art is very creative, fun, and beautiful. I love that they introduce different materials (different paints, clays, etc.) and the kids really take ownership in their art work. We proudly display many of their art pieces and even send some to grandparents to enjoy. It's a cute little family owned branch located in the same plaza at Bad Ass Coffee/ Pitchers Sports Bar in Rancho Penasquitos. Ms. Alicia is the Principal/ Branch Owner. She exercises strong communication, is very approachable and kind, and coordinates great lessons (so there's new activities throughout the week). I also appreciate that she has a team of assistants to coordinate each class and to ensure the kids are supported. Most of all, she creates wonderful memories during the moments the kids are out of school (saving the sanity of parents balancing work). We truly love our experience through Global Art SD PQ and intend to return as often as we can. Definitely recommended.

(see back muscle pics LOL) Haven't been to indoor rock climbing in a minute but this location is what got me started. This is one of the bigger climbing gyms in San Diego with tons of wall space for both top rope and bouldering. First timer or seasonal climber, you'll fit right in. The staff are awesome - helpful, motivating, and great at walking you through the basics. We opted for belaying lessons and I recommend that for first-timers! The front desk was polite and efficient but may be a bit corporate than warm. Tip: sign the waiver before you arrive. The gym is clean, routes are reset often, and there's a slab wall full gym, sauna plus a small shop with gear and snacks. They also have a Mission Valley location closer to my work! Tempted to check that one out! Overall: 4 stars - solid climbing, great workouts, even yoga, and good vibes. I'd recommend a membership if you really want to commit. They have several options on their website. HSA/FSA eligible too! Great for a group event and birthday outing in my opinion! Just be ready to get humbled (and sore).
