The Boca Del Mar subdivision was first planned in 1971 as Boca Granada by the Behring Corporation, who also developed Tamarac Lakes. The name was changed to Boca Del Mar to avoid confusion with a condo complex in the area. Construction took place throughout the 1980's. Bonita Bend is a passive park with paths both paved and unpaved. It has a lot of shade trees but no other amenities, not even a parking lot. You could have a picnic, exercise, or take the kids to run around but that is about it. If you are not from the neighborhood there is no reason to come here. Calling Bonita Bend a park is a bit of s stretch. If you are looking for a park in this area head to nearby Sugar Sand which has many amenities including a science center, incredible multi story playground, sports fields, hiking trails, and so much more. It has everything someone wanting to visit a park would need.

Oakmont Park is a passive park in the Oakmont subdivision of Delray Beach. It is more of a tiny natural area set in the middle of the neighborhood. It has a small gravel parking lot and six picnic tables. At first glance there isn't much here but after looking around I discovered that someone had put a few beautiful orchids in the trees and further back I found some banana plants along with newly planted trees. Oddly dogs are not allowed in the park so you can't even use this park to walk your dog. It looks like it should been a lot for a house. You might be able to have a picnic here if you live in the neighborhood but I can't see any other use for it. If you are looking for a place to take the kids to play go to the nearby Orchard View Park or if you want a place to hike try Delray Oaks Natural Area.

The location is also nice for parking and walking across the street to the public beach. Anchor Park is also the location for the Delray Ocean Rescue offices. In the corner of the park is a sign commemorating the historic Atlantic Avenue Crossing over the intracoastal waterway. Close to Atlantic Ave is a beautiful sea life mosaic fountain. Park amenities include a huge gazebo that must be rented in order to be used, meeting rooms, restrooms, barbecue grills, benches, bicycle rack, memorials to the the veterans, and a pirate ship themed playgrounds for the kids. There is a huge green area where the city can hold events like the art fair that was being held during my visit. The real highlight of the park is the gorgeous view of the intracoastal waterway. It's such a relaxing spot to sit and watch the bridge open and close as the beautiful boats glide down the waterway. If you are looking for a place to stroll after dinner on Atlantic Ave this is the perfect place to come and take in the picturesque view.

The park was quiet an unoccupied on a weekday afternoon so now it's my outdoor office! The park has a playground, restrooms, fitness equipment, basketball and athletic fields including a lighted baseball field. It was clean of trash and very welcoming. This review is specifically for the children's playground from the parent of a young child. There…read morealso soccer fields, tennis fields and racquetball courts which we did not try on this day. The children's playground is completely unfenced, which is less than ideal since it's right next to a parking lot which can get quite busy. The play equipment has some areas that feel like it is geared towards younger children, but then linked to tall drops with tight rope like climbing areas, which could be very fun for older children yet dangerous for the younger ones. There is a lack of seating around the playground border and only has some picnic tables under the pagoda, which is off to the side near the bathrooms. We did not use the bathrooms, but our friends did - they did not complain. The play equipment is in need of a clean- hopefully the city park Cleaning team can address this. There are baby swings, regular swings, and even a tandem mommy and me swing plus a swing which caters to Dissabilities. We loved this. Another great part of the park is the inground merry-go-round, which makes it much safer than the ones that are raised. This is close to some other areas that we visit so we might come again, but it's not our first choice for a day out. We would only choose it for convenience and closeness and a short visit.

All of the parks in Boca are meticulously maintained and University Woodlands is no exception. You can find it across the street from the prestigious Pine Crest School on St. Andrews Boulevard. The L shaped park doesn't look like much from the road but pull in and prepare to have your expectations exceeded. Park amenities include baseball fields, restrooms, picnic areas, and beautifully landscaped and shady playground surrounded by pine trees.. The park also has soccer fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, and grills. Come out and play sports, take the kids to play, or enjoy a picnic. I enjoyed the paved exercise path that winds through the park. The first cool front is finally coming our way. Get out and enjoy the beautiful weather.

The playground has two sets of equipment for climbing, slides and a large log for hiding. The only downside of the large trees are the amount of berries falling on the sidewalk around the playground. The berries are smothered in the soles of your shoes.

Meadows Park is a nearly 13 acre park centrally located in Boca Raton just east of Boca Raton…read moreMiddle School. Set next to a canal, it has a plenty of parking and many shade trees. A popular amenity at Meadows Park is its 8 lane, 25 yard by 25 meter pool with two diving boards. Resident children pay $2 and adults are $4 while non residents pay double. You can also purchase monthly, semi annual, and annual memberships. The Boca Mantas Swim Team trains at the pool and the pool offers swim lessons. Meadows park is also the home of the 1.4 acre Boca Community Garden which opened on October 16, 2021. The garden is sponsored by the Junior League of Boca Raton, Brightline, City of Boca Raton, Community Greening and Tree City USA. Garden plots can be rented by Boca Raton community members from $60 to $110 per plot. Residents can also participate in gardening classes. Inside the garden is a gazebo with seating. There is a new playground being installed that is themed to match the community garden. The garden smelled lovely and I really loved exploring it and getting inspiration for things I can grow in my own school community garden. The garden and pool make Meadows Park a special destination in the Boca Parks and Rec holdings. The park also has a baseball field, sand volleyball court, tennis courts, picnic tables, and grills, and a paved exercise path. The park will be even nicer when the brand new playground is completed. Come out and enjoy all this park has to offer.

This 25 acre preserve is off of 10th street in Deerfield Beach behind the Tivoli apartment complex…read more It has approximately one mile of paved trails running east and west. Most of the sand pines for which this preserve takes it's name were killed during the 2004-2005 hurricanes. This area looks rather neglected with a lot of invasive species strangling the native species. Some of the informational signs are so buried in vines that you can't even read them. However I am a fan of nature in an urban landscape and this area is providing a home for wildlife just feet from !-95. Some of the species of animals that make their home here include the endangered gopher tortoise, cardinals, mockingbirds, red shouldered hawks, burrowing owls, and butterflies. I came across some interesting looking scat on the pathways while I was walking indicating animals were in the area. Plants found here include prickly pear cactus, coco plum, blue mist, and staggerbush. Benches and a picnic pavilion are located along the path. After having visited the wonderful Sullivan Park which is a park Deerfield Beach really cares about I think they can do better by this preserve. Nevertheless life continues to thrive here as the refuge provides a safe oasis for the animals and plants of Deerfield Beach.
