The next day, the system automatically checked me out so I had to re-check in at the front desk. There was a convention in town so the line was long both times. I tried to check out early to go to a different hotel and was told I couldn't because it was an "event weekend." It seems they were under-staffed. Overall, the rooms are small and the amenities are sparse. They do have a good breakfast with lots of food options and a nice bar downstairs. But I wouldn't stay here again.

I was not a fan of the breakfast at all and the automated cappuccino machines weren't great. I think I only had watery yogurt there. Having an S Bahn Train Station downstairs is convenient in order to head to more interesting areas or a way to get to the main train station. Be very careful walking in front of the hotel. We saw the aftermath of a pedestrian get taken out by a bicyclist. Munich really needs to re-think their bike lanes because there are no clear borders from pedestrians and the bicyclists ride as fast as they can with no regard for pedestrians. The in hotel breakfast is wonderful and worth the price. However the front desk staff consists of young ladies hired for their looks. They were inattentive, offered no suggestions or advice. I asked one desk clerk how far the Hofbrauhaus was and she looked at me (while reapplying her lipstick) and said, "which one, there are many in Munich". Seriously? Then she explained that none of the desk ladies are German, so they shouldn't be expected to know such things. We asked for directions to the train station and we were quickly shown a tiny map on one of the ladies's cell phone. Utterly useless.
