The Boutique Chocosina is in the heart of Old Montreal on Rue Saint-Sulpice. The gorgeous store is stocked with all types of chocolate, sweet treats, marshmallows, bars, gift baskets and gift boxes, bulk candy and pretty much whatever your sweet tooth desires. We picked up a small bar of salted caramel chocolate and a gorgeous chocolate bar with candied orange rind for us, and jars of caramel and chocolate covered marshmallows for the grandkids. Chocolate and orange combinations have long been a favorite of ours, and I gotta tell you, their version of this combo was fantastic. Delicious milk chocolate with a distinct undertone of orange. You'll find the store in Old Montreal on the corner of Rue Saint-Sulpice and Rue Saint-Paul Ouest just up the street from the Hotel Nelligan.

On one wall, there were stacks of caramel pebbles, crunchy balls, and gummies. And by the door, there is an attractive display of sweet gifts. I went with the milk chocolate French bars. The chocolate was creamy, perfectly-tempered, and studded with milk, dark, and white chocolate pearls. I only purchased two bars but there is an online shop to indulge my sweet tooth for when I am done.

He's so humble and happy with what he does, you can really see it in the way he talks, which is what made our experience all that it was. I went with the twist soft serve-which was so thick and creamy, almost like a custard. Delicious. It's nothing against the other places but it's just a taste preference probably. If you love dark chocolate then Les Chocolats is definitely the one for you and Divine Chocolatier is definitely just as good but this place does offer more variety. The owners were really nice and put up with translating almost every single piece of chocolate for me as I picked up a few along with some Maple fudge. After sampling some, I can say I really enjoy the variety and quality of both the chocolate and the filling. However, this place was the only one out of the three that didn't offer me a little niblet with my purchase. At the time of this review, there are only 4 locations in all of Canada and they are all in Montreal and surrounding areas. Their chocolates are pricey they are $2.20 a piece, except the cornets which are $2.99 a piece. They are very tasty and worth the occasional splurge. The chocolate is smooth and creamy. This location is a kiosk inside the Carrefour Industrielle Alliance. Service was pleasant. Fun fact: There is no person named Jeff de Bruges. The owner/founder's name is Philippe Jambon. He realized that with a last name that means ham in French, he might have more success as a French chocolatier using a different moniker. Apparently he chose Bruges because it's a city in Belgium and his chocolate is a mix of Belgian and French styles, and he chose Jeff because he liked the song Jef by Jacques Brel. Review #153 (2025)
