There was nowhere local that would so this and the closest, in NYC, would have cost almost more than I paid for the boots ( and they are all designer). Leon's was very communicative, and super fast. I found this place online. At first, I was hesitant because google maps shows the address at a residential area. I knew it might be a home based business; but with internet scams proliferating these days, it is hard to trust everything you find in the net. I tried to find reviews online. There were a few google reviews but none on yelp. I contacted the business and they were responsive and professional. Still, I had my doubts. I decided to drive to the address and check it out. If it seems fishy, then I will drive away. When I reached the place, there was a small sign at the front door and Leon greeted me warmly. I saw pictures of his work (same as the one on his website) up on a flat screen TV at his office. He asked me to fit the boots and placed a mark on them on how big he needs to take in. He asked me when I needed them and said to call him before picking it up. I got a slip (sort of like a receipt) that I can use when I pick up the boots. I did not have to pay anything when I dropped off my boots. He said that payment will be when I pick it up because he wants to make sure that I am happy and satisfied with his work. I decided to pick up my boots on a weekend because the weekday rush hour traffic is horrible! And it is quite a long drive for me to get there. I picked up my boots today. He had me tried them on first to see if it fits and if I am satisfied with the work. They looked amazing and fitted perfectly! They look as good as new! I cannot physically see any of the alterations done. I highly recommend Leon's Boots Alterations for boots related work. I had mine taken in. Took my Isabel Marant thigh high suede boots to get stretched because they were bought unbearably tight. He stretched the top lining so much that it made a permanent scrunched mark in the right pair in the front top that will never come out. He didn't even stretch them enough to fit me; told me with wear they will stretch out even more but never did. Also suggested a bottom sole to give me more support and ended with scratch marks at the bottom sides from him cutting and glueing. I was unaware that such services existed in Canada, since I am an international student. But a friend of mine told me about this place and it is a residential address that I took an Uber to- to drop off my boots and to pick them up a week later from. It turns out they're great! They have a 1hr service option, but I wasn't in a hurry to get them altered. When I got there, I put on my thigh high boots and Leon measured them and we had a nice conversation while I waited for my Uber. I was given a receipt to show for when I collect them and left. I returned a week later, tried them on and they fit perfectly! No noticeable marks on my shoes, and they're suede so i'm a little surprised about how Leon did it so well. I'm 32 years old, and since I was 19 I've had difficulty finding boots to fit my thin legs and look properly, it was either double up with socks or stockings just to get a hint of a good look. I have huge calves but have always dreamed of having some nice knee high boots. I found leon on the internet. I called him to discuss what he could do for me. He advised me to buy wide calf boots with zipper on the side then come and see him. I ordered the boots via TSC . They arrived I tried the boots on however I could not do up the zipper. Went to see my hero Leon what a great guy. He measured my legs and 10 days later went back and got my beautiful boots. They zip up no problem and look fantastic with jeans and leggings.
