We found several Christmas presents, especially olive wood bowls and kitchen utensils. One item was an Olive bowl with small forks. Here is a picture of the bowl. As you see, no forks. The items were packed in our checked luggage and for some reason the airline took the forks out of the luggage. If anyone knows how to contact the store to see if we can purchase the forks, it would be appreciated. The forks had olive wood handles with metal forks. We highly recommend the store should your travels take you to Avignon, France.

Oh, they do have other gourmet food items--mustards, jams and jellies, olive oils, a few beverages--but what they really have is more salts and peppers in one place than I've ever seen. Amazing and odd and educational at the same time. They will let you taste to your heart's content which is pretty cool. Also, they were very nice to us when we had a baby melt down on a cold day--they INVITED us to bring the baby inside and feed him back in a warm corner. Who does that? Very, very nice!

The surrounding area is also very picturesque, so the drive there was very nice. Inside the tasting room, the staff was friendly and welcoming, but did not offer much information about the winery or wines. A bit unusual in my experience with both US and French wineries. The wines I tasted were good, but not as good of a value as other wineries in the same area. I tried their rose, white, red and 100% grenache. I normally do not prefer white wines but enjoyed the white here. They sell a variety of other products onsite. Many of these seemed gimmicky, but I bought some olives and tapenade, without tasting them first, these both turned out to be delicious. I wish we were offered tastings of the olive oil, as I suspect this was quite good as well. I enjoyed the wine I brought back from the winery, but everyone keeps asking me why I didn't pick up more of the tapenade...

I was in the area with a friend, and as we were on the way to Les Baux we happened upon this lovely…read moreolive oil producing mas. There was an extremely well-equipped tasting room with the many varieties of oil that they produce, including flavored varieties, and everything is available for tasting. The oils were, frankly, delicious and vibrant, and the friendly workers were patient and happy to answer questions about the differences in the oils, how they harvest, what good food pairings might be, and even tips on how to best taste the oil itself. Of course, everything is available for purchase right there, including soaps, lip balms, kitchen towels, cruets, olive wood spoons, and other things olive related. They are widely distributed too, I found their oils in Manhattan (at Le District) and even in the world at large (a kitchen store in Bloomington Indiana, for example!) I will definitely return for some more delicious oil the next time I'm in the area.

Prices seemed reasonable, and…read morethough the store is small by US standards, it had plenty of things to stock a kitchen for a few days of cooking. Produce was fresh, and there was a good selection of regional cheeses. If you can get over to the local market (Les Halles), that's where you'll find amazing meats and cheese and chocolates (all a bit pricey), but Carrefour is quick and convenient. Bring or purchase bags to carry your stuff in. And remember ... eggs aren't in the refrigerated cases here. They've also got a decent selection of beer.
