We found ourselves coming back here after being a bit underwhelmed by some of the food at the…read morehotel. The café was a pleasant surprise--simple, relaxed, and honestly much more our style. The food was solid across the board and felt less stuffy than the fine dining Michelin experience next door. Sometimes less is more.
The owner may not come across as overly warm or chatty, but after a few visits, I got the impression that's just his personality rather than poor service. Not everyone in Provence is going to greet you with an American-style smile, and that's part of the charm. What matters is that the food was consistently good, the atmosphere was casual and inviting, and it became one of our favorite spots during our stay at Crillon.
