If I tell you we drive a combined total of almost two hours for the steaks these guys serve.. And we keep going back for more. I think I've said enough! Let's start with the setting.. It's an old farm totally refurbished, they have a wine cellar, whiskey and gin bar up the attic, half open kitchen and the dining hall is located in sort of a green house (winter garden). As far as you can see around you is a hilly landscape full of fields which adds to the total farm experience. The staff is super friendly and helpful, they're good with kids (in the summer time there's a bouncy castle, sheep to look at and go-carts for kids) and they get a lot of foreign customers and treat them as well as they can. The wine selection is good, and you can even go and get a bottle in the wine cellar. You always get home made potato chips, ham and bread as appetizers, followed up by some black pudding sausage, meat salad etc. all products from the butchers shop they run.. And you can take all these products with you when you go home. Let's move on to the meat.. It's not the cheapest but it's the best as far as I know. They serve two kinds of meat.. Veal or junior beef (all own bred cattle), I always tend to go for the last one since I prefer red meat and veal tends to be a lot lighter. Your knife will literally slide trough this tasty redness. I'm also very keen on the extra herb "crust" they put on the meat if you ask them.. Delicious!! The desserts are ok and the coffee is always accompanied by fresh apple cake. The only thing I'm not so fond of is the buffet style salad bar, but I'm not a rabbit so no harm done! Good job guys, keep up the good work.

We had lunch at this French-style steakhouse, and it was a nice, casual atmosphere. The food was…read moregreat and the staff was very friendly. The menu was both in English and French, and our waitress spoke a little bit of English as well. The meal I ordered was an appetizer of lobster raviolis in a shellfish sauce, and my entree was a steak and onion kabob with a 3-cheese sauce. I enjoyed it a lot. My one problem with this place was how wildly overpriced the food was. For my appetizer, I received 3 lobster raviolis and it cost 16 Euros. The steak and onion kabob, while delicious, was almost 30 Euros. Including my meal and my girlfriend's, plus we both had a glass of wine, it came out to 98 Euros for lunch. That is the only bad part about it. If you don't mind forking over some money, this is a very nice place to eat.

This restaurant, which is also attached to the very small hotel known as Le Monte Cristo, has a set menu and they also do daily specials. The 3 of us decided on the menu, which was 29 Euros, a not-too-bad price for three courses. We all started off with some prawns. There were 4-5 in the bowl/plate (looked like a bowl!) with a delicious sauce. The prawns were nothing special but OK. The main course was a steak, actually the menu said it was an Irish steak, and it was a nice big chunk of meat. I enjoyed mine with pepper sauce but my wife felt that hers was too "chewy". At least here, when you ask for medium or rare, it is cooked that way, which is not the norm around the country. They don't seem to have the same ideas of rare, medium and well-done as an American restaurant would. For dessert, she had chocolate mousse and this lady is a lover of mousse. To her, this one was so-so, nothing special and perhaps a bit heavier than a mousse should be. I had the poire William, a whole pear baked or something, with some chocolate around it and also, I'm guessing some alcohol. There was also a side of ice cream on the plate. I enjoyed this but it was so filling. Overall, a nice experience. If you don't want to spend a fortune too, go for the set menu.

DECOR - As soon as we pulled up in the parking lot I was impressed with the layout and decor of the place. You could tell the building is well cared after. On the inside everything is beautifully decorated with floor to ceiling of wood. Great for groups, lots of space and a beer garden. The staff is friendly and makes you feel at home. The owner greets and spends time with customers through out the evening. Just a great vibe and most importantly an enjoyable evening. FOOD & DRINK - the menu has a great selection of fantastic beers and Bavarian food. Our picks were the sausages with kraut which was to die for. Two of us were not big on kraut but in this case cleaned the plate. For mains highly recommend the jäger schnitzel, the meatloaf and the cordon blue. For sides we had spatzel which is buttery pasta bits, potato dumpling which consisted of a fluffy starch ball, and traditional potato salad. The schnitzel was the best I've ever had and I've had my fair share of German food but Bavarian style takes the cake for me.

The meatloaf with potato salad and egg sunny side up was DELICIOUS! I was a little skeptical but it made my night. I'd definitely be back for more if I wasn't leaving for the states in a few more days.
