My friend and I came to Subaru Park for the second time yesterday for a Philadelphia Union game…read more This time we were in Section 132 row DD which is near the top of the corner with the river and bridge behind us. Last time we were on the video board side also in the corner upper rows. Directly opposite of where we sat last night. Both areas had great views of the field and for the most part we were able to watch the game without issues. When people and their kids were constantly getting up to let others through or kids just bored talking loud, playing loud videos, or moving around the stands without parents being parents, then there were problems which were at times difficult to deal with. Another issue which I did not even think to consider is that where we were, and having the river behind us, is that there were numerous flies making things irritating. Parking is in numerous lots throughout the area and all are cashless, so buy your pass before and get the code emailed to you to be scanned by the attendants. Police are plentiful directing traffic before and after the game. Subaru Park holds 20,000. There's plenty of bathrooms, multiple food stands (average food at high prices), and if you don't mind 24/7 cheering, the Sons of Ben section almost next to us will make you wonder how many sore throats there are the day after games. Some sections have signage specifically stating that they are standing allowed sections. The Sons of Ben sections also have signs saying you can expect to stand the whole game. Overall, we had a great time and are 2-0 with Union wins both games we attended. When we come back again, we'll be shooting for the video board side for our seats. No flies, less kids, not as much noise from the Sons of Ben (sorry, everyone) and less windy! Go Union! Ba-ba-baba-ba-ba-ba-ba....Heeeeeeyyy You! For about 20 minutes straight....

I like that this stadium was designed for soccer matches rather than sharing with other sports. It's not overwhelming, easy to get to the vendors you want, the bathrooms are clean, no roof, and you can see everything happening on the pitch without looking up at the screen. The river/bridge is right behind one side with a nice view from behind the opposing team's supporter section. The parking lot can use some work but I'm sure that will come in time.

The TNT track club had 2 qualifiers running and it was a well ran meet. Thursday through Sunday watching the best track and field athletes compete was wonderful. Franklin field will always be one of my favorite tracks ! Facilities are top notch they just need to work on attitudes with some of their staff members as they like tend to forget the athletes, coaches and spectators are how they are getting paid. Kindness goes along way .

I think my first concert was here but we got so high on the way down I only remember two songs from the opener and none of the trip. This most recent visit was Friday. They wouldn't let my wife bring in her purse. However they let someone bring in a larger one right before her. So she drew attention to this. They didn't care. She had to go buy a $10 clear bag. This really wouldn't have been an issue if it wasn't so inconsistent. Also like I know you can charge whatever you want for food and drink cuz it's your venue and all but should you?! Anyway lawn tickets aren't really worth it. It's like hey you sit outside and watch other people attend a concert.

The sound was good, cool A/V with the projector screens and lights, and it was easy to move about during the concert. We had driven down and parked at BB&T. The peace of mind was worth the money out of pocket. At the time, we didn't often go to this area/part of Jersey, so we decided to park there. We purchased specific seats for this show. I thought the chairs were comfortable. Also, the concession booths had lots of options, and I remember the prices being reasonable.

For some reason I had assumed that a storied program like Villanova, with three national championships, would have a much larger home court. Our 3rd row seats gave us access to a supposedly exclusive club at halftime, so I was expecting some quality eats--unfortunately, the chicken po boy that came highly recommended was probably the worst arena food I've ever had. Nonetheless, I didn't go for food, I went for the game, and the high energy collegiate basketball atmosphere of this place would surely be tough to beat anywhere. There are two types of Dans in this world-- those who rise above and those who squander, and it's unfortunate to hear that Villanova let this kind of beta-Dan into such a fine establishment. As I first walked into the Pav, I immediately felt the love and warmth that has traditionally bonded the Villanova community together for centuries. The Pavilion, which needed a big upgrade, looked like a totally different animal once inside. At 6 5" and 240 lbs I found that I had ample legroom. Once comfortably seated in our section, my beautiful wife, 3 beautiful children and myself were lucky enough to catch a thrilling contest between Nova and Temple. Wow. What a showdown. My 3 little ones were on the edge of their seats, and my wife and I formed yet another glorious memory together. All-in-all, we stayed the whole game because, as true Wildcats, we finish what we start. PS - I am in full support of the serving of alcohol for those of age. College is a wonderful learning experience, and there is no better place to learn responsible drinking habits than under the direct supervision of the greatest University in The United States of America. I saw Florence + the Machine here when it was the Wells Fargo Center, have attended nearly ten Flyers games, and have also come for the Sixers and J. Cole. Each visit has reinforced the same conclusion: this is a world-class venue that already does the difficult things exceptionally well. You can take SEPTA directly to the entire stadium complex, meet friends at Xfinity Live, and walk in or out without turning the evening into a logistical ordeal. Inside, security moves efficiently, the building is consistently clean, and the food includes enough Philadelphia favorites to give the arena a real sense of place. The sightlines are excellent, even from the 200 level, for both hockey and basketball. Concerts work just as well here: the sound is enormous without becoming muddy, and the scale of the room gives a major show the spectacle it deserves. At J. Cole last night, the massive stage, thunderous volume, and electric crowd made the entire building feel alive. Ultimately, this arena succeeds because it is exciting without being chaotic and enormous without becoming impersonal. It handles sports, concerts, and the movement of thousands of people with an ease that is easy to overlook precisely because everything works so smoothly. I understand the appeal of further developing downtown, but I do not understand the instinct to dismiss a venue that remains accessible, functional, and full of energy. Philadelphia already has an incredible arena, and it deserves to be praised accordingly.

The venue has a capacity to accommodate 19,600 concert goers, similar to MSG which holds 20,000. Pros - acoustics were fantastic. - seats were comfortable with cup holders. - security was quick, they did't even check my bag. Just told me to walk on through. - lots of food choices if you want a quick bite. - restrooms were clean, plenty of stalls for the ladies. - parking and exiting our vehicle was easy. Cons - I got excellent seats close to the floor but I sat sort of sideways if you get my drift. Had to turn my body all the way to my left to see the stage. I would probably get seat(s) in a different section next time. - Parking was expensive $44 including fee. I would have enjoyed the show more if the girl sitting next to me didn't scream and sang along to every one of Lovato's songs right in my ear. Still, I had a blast!! I went to Franklin Field for the first time this past fall (awesome, must go) so figured I'd also check out the Palestra for a Penn basketball game. Despite not being even close to smart enough to go to UPenn, I'm happy to report I felt like a Quaker rooting on the home team against Yale. It's called "The Cathedral of College Basketball" for a reason. A historic venue that had so many legendary players and games pass through, it's very cool as a basketball fan just to see it and experience it. Concession options are basic but solid. I think something to note, I consider going to a Penn game as a great alternative to going to the Sixers. I now really dislike the Sixers organization. Too many unlikable players who don't care, awful management, terrible ownership and the center city stadium nonsense....where do you even start? As a result I've stopped going to games and will plan on attending more UPenn games. Not only is it a fraction of the cost, but honestly it's a better product, the players actually play and try and it's just a generally fun atmosphere. Only thing to note, I found it kinda tricky to find the arena from one of the parking lots, but that aside great experience.

Opened in 1927, this ancient edifice (Greek for gymnasium) has cramped seating, narrow corridors and water closets that belong to the first half of the 20th Century. Is the brownish color scheme actual paint or the burnt-in nicotine stains from countless Depression-era Chesterfields? Who cares, the place wears it's scars and decrepitude well and is my favorite place to catch some hoops. Maybe the lack of amenities and strict focus on the game at hand that makes it a treat to explore this husk of a building untouched by modernity. Given the absence of amenities it's clear that the crowd is here for the game - definitely my kind of crowd. So talk to your doctor and see if Palestra might be right for you. Here's to another 97 years. Five stars with conviction.

After this show, I doubt I'd see another show here. The area is conveniently located across from a hotel, which is great if you're traveling to Reading, PA like we were from another city or state. Unfortunately I cannot review the parking situation, because with took a Lyft there. But it seemed like everyone parked away from the arena. All of the staff was extremely friendly. From the attendant that helped us find our seats to the nice lady who sold us the $15 deuce-deuce can I'd Trulys. It's really sad how ridiculous these arena prices arena! The seats at the Santander were horrible. Of course because it's a concert, everybody was dancing and having a great time, but the seats were wobbling and moving more than we were. I felt like I was going to end up in the floor! The sound system wasn't the best either. Most times, the music was completely overpowering the artist. For these two reasons, I doubt I'll be back. But the concert was great!
