I've been a patient of Dr. Gaskill for several years. I live almost an hour away, but consider the drive to be well worth it. The care I get here is far superior to care I've gotten from any other doctor. The goal here isn't to medicate symptoms, but cure what can be cured. It has been a never-ending stream of unwanted appointments, overcharged copays, and insistence that I need procedures that no other doctor has ever or would ever recommend to me. After all this and her constant change of staff, new front desk and nurses on each visit, on July 2020 I decided to change to another practice. Absolutely horrible! The customer service is beyond incompetent. I've been billed incorrectly, given misinformation and it seems every dealing with them is either half complete or completely wrong. The doctor herself has little concern for her practices level of customer service as made obvious by the low rating shown here by others in her practice. She also calls patients personally and berates them without having all of the details from her staff. I've been yelled at and hung up on during two separate very unprofessional interactions. There are plenty of health care providers in the area and most all care about their patients health as well as their customer interaction. UPDATE: I checked and I have a record of paying the money the office says I owe. Have I received an apology? HAHA - no. The worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. I actually walked out of my last appointment. So many issues. She had an office with a bunch of other people at the time where there was little privacy. Don't have anyone send a fax, the whole office would see your private medical information. HIPPA compliant? Cannot possibly be. Then TWO YEARS later I get a call saying I owe them money. Then a bill for services in April 2020 and a threat to send it to collections if I don't pay in 7 days. It's October 2022. My experience with this lady was absolutely terrible! She is EXTREMELY rude and condescending. I was scheduled for a virtual FaceTime visit at 11:15am and called her office at 11:22am to figure out if she forgot about me. The receptionist asked me to give him about 10 minutes to find out why I had not received my FaceTime yet. I told him no thanks, please refund my copayment and I will find care somewhere else. About 5 minutes later, Dr. Gaskill called me with the most snide and condescending attitude stating most her patients understand when she is running behind or if they aren't seen exactly on time. She kept mentioning my occupation and how I should know that providers run behind. I would never recommend anyone to her. She is the WORST provider I have ever come across. read more

I found her holistic approach to medical tests and treatments, with an emphasis on preventative methods to promote cardiovascular heath, reduce endothelial inflammation, treat neuropathy and even weight loss outstanding. This is the most greedy and unprofessional doctor I have EVER in my life encountered. I rescheduled an appointment the morning BEFORE the appointment the next day due to a funeral, and they charged me a no show fee. I disputed as I had proof of the funeral (which you shouldn't have to have!) AND because I didn't no-show...and I didn't even cancel...I rescheduled. They kept billing me and adding late charges even though I sent multiple emails. They sent it to collections. When I disputed it with collections and told them the reason, they sent it back to her. It is now 5 YEARS LATER and I have received ANOTHER COLLECTION NOTICE! And they now want even more money. It is shocking that a physician could be so desperate for money that they go back 5 years looking for someone to screw over. She DOES NOT care about you...only your money. My previous doctor was a nice man, but clearly wanted to see as many patients as possible in a day, and was more than happy to simply prescribe me whatever pill he thought would make me happy and send me on my way. Under that care, my health was clearly getting worse over time. That led me to start looking for a more proactive and attentive doctor. Dr. Gaskill is a minimum 45-minute drive from my house, but well worth the extra time and effort. For me, every metric by which you can measure health has improved under her care. She is not a symptom treating pill pusher like so many others in the industry today. 100% of the time, Dr. Gaskill searches for and treats the root cause of whatever symptom you may have. For example, my previous doctor told me I had arthritis. He was more than happy to prescribe pain killers for me for the rest of my life. Under Dr. Gaskill's care, I discovered I did not have arthritis, but food allergies. These were causing inflammation in my joints. After two treatments for the food allergies, the food allergies are gone, and my supposed lifelong debilitating arthritis no longer exists. I see that there are several negative reviews on Yelp, and that shouldn't be surprising. Complaining seems to be what the Yelp is for. That being said, I feel you have a choice when selecting a doctor. You can go to a fast doctor, but have him wait for you to shut up so they can prescribe you an opioid, and hustle you out the door in their unending quest to see as many patients per hour as possible. Or, you can have a doctor that actually listens, considers what you have said, and considers all of the health factors at hand in order to come up with a comprehensive treatment plan. Obviously, if this doctor is going to listen to you, this doctor is going to listen to all of her patients. I consider that worth waiting for. So, if you want McDonald's level Healthcare, clearly Dr. Gaskill is not for you. If, however, you want your doctor to provide the best healthcare possible, Dr. Gaskill is where you should probably be. read more

I had a difficult time getting my prescriptions filled, scheduling appointments, and getting anyone to call me back. I made a virtual appt with dr Gaskill Office and everything was fine until i had to get my prescription filled. The doctors office staff sent it to the wrong pharmacy and i couldn't locate it and when i tried to call into her staff no one could answer the simple question on where it was sent .Then i finally received a call from her staff stating the doctor would talk to me but only after i paid a second office visit charge. Once on line with Dr Gaskill she was upset due to how long she was on line with the pharmacist and when i explained her staff was bad at following up she got very defensive .Once the Dr finally told me after 20 minutes of lecture where the prescription was sent I then politely said goodbye and hung up phone .I then called the pharmacy and the pharmacy said they did not carry that drug and i would need to call back to doctors office because the Doctor called in an put a hold on prescription and put a do not transfer to another pharmacy . I spent the rest of the night emailing THE DOCTOR WITH NO RESPONSE to see if i could have prescription resent to my pharmacy they refused and Dr Purposely placed a hold on my prescription to punish me for my complaining about paying a second office visit just to find my prescription. In my opinion the Doctor was extremely unprofessional and i would definitely not recommend her to even take care of my pet much less a person. I wish I'd never found this office. When I needed an immediate appointment a few months ago for sudden medical issues, Gaskill's office was the only one available last minute. Since then, it has been a never-ending stream of unwanted appointments, overcharged copays, and insistence that I need procedures that no other doctor has ever or would ever recommend to me as a healthy young adult with a normal BMI. Pseudoscience and witch doctor medicine passed off as legitimate medical procedures do not sit well with me, and I am doing everything possible to ensure I never have to cross the threshold of this practice again. Dr. Leslie Gaskill was the worst doctor that I've ever met. I wish I had looked the reviews up before I went there. We went there in December for our physical exam that should be covered by our insurance. However, she tried to sell additional services that we didn't even know. When we asked her if she could explain it to us, she said it was not her job. She was rude. So, we canceled our physical exam because we didn't want do our physical exam with the rude doctor. The receptionist charged us for office visit even though the doctor didn't do anything. Today, I received another bill from her with the late payment for that visit. She tried to rob us.Stay away from this doctor or at least read the review before your visit. She doesn't care about her patients, she only cares your money. The nurse asked me to not wear cologne next time because the crazy doctor was allergic, she wouldn't even speak to me while at the appointment. By the way she charges for a missed appointment even if you had an emergency. My wife had an appointment and we ended in the hospital with a family member the night before until 5 in the morning. She called and explained and had to cancel and they charged her $120 and started adding late fee, so we had to pay $190. From the first time of telling me that my bloodwork was totally out of line until today where all of my cholesterol levels are perfect, she has given me a specific plan of care that I have been able to follow, and am in the best shape ever! Dr. Gaskill has such a passion for what she does, and has motivated me beyond belief. In the past, physicians would tell me "you need to get in better shape". I wish I had read the reviews before pursuing an appointment with Dr. Gaskill. I expected more from an Emory trained physician. The staff was in constant turn over during the brief time I saw her. Granted, Covid created issues, but it was such a scattered mess of an office experience every time. She required additional appointments and pushed for services to utilize additional billing codes. Then had the audacity to question my prior healthcare providers ethics when I asked her to correctly code a lab order. I've phoned the office several times requesting help as directed by my insurance company. She refused to help me, so I will end up paying $500 for services that are typically covered by my insurance when coded accurately by the physician. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

Really do not recommend. First time I have ever written a bad review of someone online but I feel like people should be warned. Went to her once for a physical and it was a nightmare. My physical was supposed to be completely covered by my insurance and a whole year later after I completely STOPPED going to her, I receive a bill from her with a bunch of late fees? For a physical that should have been a one time visit, I had to go to her 3 separate appointments. This lady is rude, condescending, and money hungry. This is ultimately a business for them so they try to bill you for the most money. It is unethical and deceiving and really disheartening for a Christian-themed office that plays The Fish and has a bible in every room. For example, the receptionist tried to make me pay upfront for a copay that I didn't have to pay for TWICE. Thankfully, I had called my insurance company the day before and they specifically said that i didn't have to pay a copay for the two visits that I was going for at this office. I would have had to pay ONLY IF something was wrong with me and went beyond the boundaries of just a regular, preventative visit. Instead of telling me this, the receptionist (I believe her name is Lauren) said that I owed $20 upfront...instead of waiting until after the examination to see if something was wrong with me in order to charge me. Also, they told me to call this number to hear my lab results and they never put it on the answer machine after a week when they said they would. The administration skills of the office staff isn't the best. Found Jan & Gaskill to be nice and helpful but the cons outweigh the pros. They want you to visit as much as possible so you can pay copays instead of just discussing things results over the phone which would be much more convenient for me and my work schedule. Thankfully I'm switching jobs so hopefully I can find a better and more ethical practice and competent staff. read more

Do not recommend!!!!! I have never written a bad review of someone online but I need to share so others can avoid her and find a better practice. I waited an entire hour before I was even seen and she was not even with another patient. Dr. Gaskill walked into the room, just stared at me and never even introduced herself, I had to look on her jacket to see if she was even the doctor or just staff. Throughout my appointment, she made 3 blatant, stereotypical and microaggressive remarks to me about my race(I am not white). She did not care at all about what she said and completely stereotyped me and asked extremely inappropriate questions. I asked about a few different things and she literally googled on her phone (she asked Siri multiple times throughout my visit) the name of a condition and then googled what the treatment options were. Why am I paying for a doctor to google information they should know? She decided to prescribe me medication and I asked how the medication worked and why it would help me and she said she was unable to explain it to me "without taking an hour to explain how pharmaceuticals work" but I should just "trust her". She could not tell me a single thing, scientific or not, about how a drug she was prescribing me would help me. She told me "that's what the internet is for". The front desk has issues to solve with communication and the secretary was completely oblivious to me waiting on her. Dr. Gaskill is very nice and seems to have good intentions and she does spend much more time with you than most doctors will. However, the extremely inappropriate remarks about my race as well as her blatant unprofessionalism mean I will not be returning to her practice. I have been seeing Dr Gaskill since 2008, after I moved to GA. I have never been so pleased with the care I received. Originally I just came to see her for those yearly physicals for insurance enrollment. But she really delved into my family history & personal risks, which no one had done before. I have really been able to take my health & preventative care to the next level! In addition, this is the first time a doctor has actually done something to help me with my migraines. I have suffered with them since I was a teenager & not only had they started to get worse, they were lasting longer. What I really am pleased with is her knowledge and skill with treatment outside of prescribing a drug. The laser therapy & bio-identical hormone treatments have gotten me to the point that I can't tell you the last time I had to take a drug to get relief! & that is huge because the drug side effects are almost as bad as the headache! I needed to find a doctor in Atlanta after moving up here from Florida last year. In my neighborhood newspaper there was a full page ad on Dr. Gaskill. I read it and was impressed. Unfortunately, I did not go on Yelp at that time to read reviews there. I should have! My first visit was simply to get on file and get a refill of my prescriptions. I had my yearly exam in Florida before moving. I filled out a ridiculous amount of paperwork and stated the reason for my visit. I waited almost 2 hours before being called in by the nurse. Then was asked why I was there. Obviously, they want you to fill out all that paperwork and then don't bother to read it. I waited another 30 min. in the patient room for the doctor. When she came in she more or less started in on a repertoire of preventative tests that she performs in office. I told her I just needed a prescription refill and I had a question about shortness of breath. I had a copy of a blood test that was barely 30 days old and she really didn't want to read over it. She wanted me to come in for a new one on another visit. Then she started talking about scans of my carotid that my history would necessitate and medicare would cover. The same with allergy testing and even these pellets that she shoots in your butt for hormones. It was quite simply overwhelming. Not a single question to me of whether I had any health issues going on, or if I had any questions to her. I literally had to interrupt her to ask her a question about shortness of breath in high altitude which I experienced on a trip out west. She was nonchalant and said, yeah that happens to some people. Long story short, I made an appointment for a blood test and the cardiovascular scans (2). Could not do it all in one appointment, it required 3 separate appointments. Then they were very pushy about signing a document stating that I would come in person to get the results of all the tests. I signed this 3 separate times. I was there, on my first appointment 4 hours. Second appt for blood test---had to fill out the exact paperwork (3 pages) I did on first visit, wanting to list all medications and what was the purpose of the visit. Why don't they know the purpose? They made the appointment ! I refused to list my meds again and just wrote SEE MY FILE. I waited and waited. I was fasting and getting a really bad headache. When I finally was called back and saw the doctor she asked what I was there for. I sharply replied that I'm fasting per her instructions, I have a horrible headache and can we just get the blood test done NOW. She did respond to that and got the nurse in quickly and then got me a tylenol and some water. Third & fourth appointments were for the scans. Consequent appointments to get the results of the scans were a joke and a lesson in frustration. They could not find them and hadn't even received them back from the vendor that performed the test. This happened TWICE. It was all I could do to get her to discuss the results of my blood test when I went in to get the results of the first carotid scan. I told her that I lived 30 min. away and would like to get as much done per visit as possible. That is not her policy I believe. I have now quit using Dr. Gaskill. Last week was the last straw. I had an appt. next week for a glucose test (yes, another test) and the office called to reschedule me for the following week. I noticed that I did not have enough of one of my meds to last until that visit. So, I called to ask that a refill be called in. First call I was put on hold then cut off. Second try I was put on hold twice and finally got a person. I told her what I needed and there was silence. She was looking for a "refill appointment". I said, no, I don't want an appointment, I'm coming in the last of the month but my blood pressure med will run out before then. If you had not rescheduled me I would have had enough to get me to the appointment, but you postponed me for 1 week. She said the doctor doesn't do refills over the phone. (She also only does 90 day supply, not 180) She said you have to come in so she can see if the meds are working. I told her I had been taking these meds for 5 years and they are working just fine. I also said, okay, can she just prescribe enough to get me to the appointment. She said no, that she won't even see me on that appointment, I need a separate appointment. I then lost it! I asked to speak to Gaskill. Silence once again. She then said the doctor was busy with patients. I said I AM A PATIENT TOO. She said that the policy is you come in for prescriptions period. I then told here that the office is totally unorganized, inefficient and I no longer want to be a patient there. I told her to cancel my appointment and close my file. I had sent her a referral also and they quit the day before for much of the same crap I went through. I never had a good feeling about the office at any of my appointments and I should have listened to my gut. read more

It is the worst doctor I've ever met. In the past I thought her medical advance treatment so called Cold Laser treatment was good as she described, but unfortunately, the next day right after the whole treatment, the allergy came back again(It is supposed not to come back forever, or on her children last for 10 years). For more than a month, it didn't getting any better. We just wasted thousands of dollars. Besides, the attitude of the billing department Crystal is very bad. We had some disagreement over the bill: I have paid office copay, but was also charged by insurance company. I was pushed to pay by her with many unrelated explanation. Then, Dr. Gaskill handled this issue on the day of my son's last laser treatment. She just threated me to send me to collection agency if I didn't pay, but worst of worst is that she totally refused to do the last treatment even I paid her in full for the sake of my son. Finally her workmate Lolita helped to arrange to do the makeup treatment and refunded me the overcharge. (A month before) P.S. I hate to do my physical exam here because now I keep getting the blood test bill, This $89.52 bill from ClevelandHeartLab (they never mentioned before) was not covered by my insurance, and when Dr.Gaskill and Crystal said they would take care of it, they didn't. read more

Do not go here unless you have extra money to spend. I went here because I'm a teacher and I could not get to a doctors appointment around me at 5. She is a very nice lady and though I'm terrified of pap exams she was very calming and I really appreciated her for that...HOWEVER.. ever since I've been coming to this doctor I have been getting nonstop $200 bills coming in the mail for tests I did not order that are not covered by my insurance. The last time I went to her to get my medication that I have been receiving for over 5 years, and she made me take a drug test. I have NEVER been asked for a drug test to get my prescription. Then when I told her I do not authorize that she said they would have to send the test anyway (something about it being a new law -__- I guess that was to scare me) but I will not pay the bill.. and what appeared in my mailbox.. another $200 bill for a drug test I didn't authorize. I wish that I had looked these reviews up before I went there. As someone else said, Dr Gaskill was a lovely woman that I would have liked to see. However, the inept office staff has made it an awful experience. There is so much disorganization and I was charge a ridiculous amount of money for a blood test sent to a lab that was out of network, so I had to cancel an appt on a Sunday that was for the next day because I couldn't take the chance for being charged for more things that I couldn't afford. This is just one of many things within a course of a month that they were like the keystone cops with. They are still charging me for the cancellation, for an office visit that they should have cancelled themselves and was a waste of my time. I am still receiving the bill with late charges now even after sending Dr. Gaskill a lengthy letter about all the different ways that they did not give me good care and how disorganized they are. Never heard from her...so I have to then ask, "how much does she care about her clients to not respond at all?" The most recent thing that has astonished me is that after having to have a follow-up mammogram, she has never bothered to call with the results. The Do No Harm rule that a doctor lives by is not the way that they are doing practice. Stay away. I've been going to Dr. Gaskill for about 7 years. At first, I thought, she is great, as she really took the time to explain all the test results - the test results I had to get every three months because she will not write prescriptions for longer. I explained to her that I travel and when I call, it is generally because I'm out of my prescriptions. It doesn't matter - she still insists on an office visit. I am writing this review based on the experience I had today in the office, but my feelings began about two years ago, so today was the last straw. The office visits are painfully long. First you have to wait in the lobby for 30-45 minutes and then you have to wait to see Dr. Gaskill in the exam room. Generally the visits are 2 - 21/2 hours long. As I mentioned before, she will require you to have many tests done, and will not give any results unless you come in for another appointment. Dr. Gaskill had recommended I get an expensive test and when I called my insurance about it, they said they would not cover it. I explained that to Dr. Gaskill so she wrote a letter to the insurance company. I called back to the insurance company after this and they said they still would not cover the test. This was 2012. She continually over the last two years brought the test up, yet informs me today again and said when she called my insurance company; they told her I had not called at all, basically calling me a liar. When I made the appointment for this morning, Dr. Gaskill took it upon herself to call an insurance specialist about my insurance to see what tests would be covered. This insurance specialist told her I had a $2500 deductible to meet. The doctor proceeded to ask me if I could just pay for the tests upfront as they are billed out of the office. I said "NO" - you can prescribe the tests and I'll call my insurance to see how much they are and if they will pay. She said no we need the money as we bill it - once you take care of the deductible, then they will be covered. The insurance specialist then asked Dr. Gaskill if I had an HSA, which in turn the doctor asked me. I said No. Dr. Gaskill said you don't have a card that looks like a Visa that says "HSA". Again, I said no. So the doctor tells the insurance specialist on the phone and I quote - "She doesn't know what she has." I'm sitting right there telling you no - of course I know what I have. So when I didn't go along with her plans for the tests, she got really mad and said to me and the insurance specialist - "Well, it's only your life" and "You are probably going to kill over and die." Now what kind of doctor or person would say this? For me, this overstepped her boundaries for the doctor/patient relationship. Dr. Gaskill used to have a really good PA (Jan), but she left. I have never seen another PA at the office. In order for you to get your test results, you have to call into an automated system. The message will basically give an overview and tell you for full results to make an appointment. She is now also pushing for patients to buy weight-loss supplements directly from her and wants you to pay $1600 for her concierge service. After I refused to pay the $2500 or the $1600, Dr. Gaskill was visibly upset. She said to me - you look like you have a good job and can afford these prices, and you don't have kids or others you are taking care of - I don't understand why you will not have the tests. She also wouldn't give me a refill on a prescription until she saw the medicine I was taking because I wrote down a different name. I said you prescribed it - it should be in your file. I will not be going back - this was the last straw. After reading other reviews, I guess they will try to charge me to get my medical records also as I move to another doctor. I chose Dr. Gaskill to become my new primary care physician as it was time for my annual physical and I was looking for a different perspective from my last doctor. It turned out to be the absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with a physician, and I am not saying that lightly. I actually had several warnings. Her office insisted on an initial visit prior to the visit for my physical. While there in the waiting room, a patient stormed out while loudly complaining about his visit being a waste of time. Never heard that in a professional's office before. Regardless, she had bibles in her waiting room and the Fish on the radio, so I continued to fill out the voluminous paperwork and eventually met with Dr. Gaskill. Her demeanor, while not outright hostile, was far from pleasant. She never smiled once, and was simply detached. At this point my senses were on alert, but I pressed on. I answered her questions in preparation for my physical. I wasn't quite sure at the time why this "appointment" was necessary, suffice it to say that my insurance was billed. I will leave it at that. A week later I returned for my actual physical. The lady at the front desk insisted I fill out the paperwork again, even after I pointed out that I had just done it the prior week and nothing had changed. Office policy she said. I filled out yet another set of voluminous paperwork. Finally I go back to a room. This may be a common practice, even though I have never experienced it, but my exam was done entirely by a young lady who apparently was her assistant. Sure, blood pressure, temperature and blood drawing can be done by anyone, but I would think that attending medical school and years of residency would make one imminently more qualified to decipher the sounds of my heart, lungs and arteries, and to know whether or not my prostate is indeed in good shape. It is kind of like if you drive a beat up car, it doesn't matter who changes the oil. If you drive a McLaren, you might be a little more discerning. Personally, this is the only body and life that I have, and it's a McLaren to me. I was told verbally and by various postings in the patient room that the labs would take 3 weeks to get back, which naturally is about 2 weeks overstated, but whatever. Not surprisingly, I didn't receive a call letting me know my test results were back. After the prescribed 3 weeks I called her office to see, and yes, surprise surprise they had come back. Good thing I called. Having already invested 2 trips to the process, I scheduled yet another visit to go over the results. Naturally another batch of paperwork was shoved my way, and this time I told them that nothing had changed, and reminded them I was simply in to go over my labs. I was then charged a $25 copay, even though I do not have to pay that with my insurance (to be fair, they claim that they are sending me a refund check). I was sent back to a patient room to wait on the doctor. Her demeanor hadn't changed. She came in, unsmiling, barely glancing my way or acknowledging me, and proceeded to read my lab results. This looks good, this looks bad, you need a statin. She then suggested I purchase a OTC supplement from her office for my seasonal pollen allergies. I declined. She asked where I bought my vitamins, and when I told her Amazon, she said that I needed to be careful as the packages are often tampered with. Hmm. OK. I am guessing that the ones they sell there are the untampered (and much more expensive) versions. I mentioned that in the interim between my many visits I had had some additional testing done, well outside of the scope of what she had done and at no small expense, that might influence her view on said statin. I asked if it it would be helpful for her to see or to have it for my file. Nope, she didn't order it, she didn't care. When I dared question why knowing more about my situation wouldn't be helpful, she went on to complain about how insurance was sticking it to her and voicing her opinion that she could convert to a concierge model, she abruptly stood up and walked to the door, obviously finished with me.
