If you're mall hopping the GO bus is definitely a better way to travel between the two malls. It costs more than taking a TTC bus (GO bus fare is $5.30 and TTC is $3.25) but the bus is considerably more comfortable with large cushioned seats that face the front like in a fancy tour bus. It is also much quieter (especially during the weekdays) since the crowd is older without kids (the bus isn't made to accommodate large, bulky strollers or walkers). There is only one stop in between (York Mills) and you don't have to transfer to another bus. So if you're willing to pay a little more for a peaceful, comfortable, quick ride then you'll definitely want to take the GO bus. At the Scarborough Towne Centre the station is right across from the TTC station in front of the mall entrance. There's self service kiosks where you can purchase your tickets but be warned that that the machines are a little slow so get there a little early. The machines take credit debit and cash (bills $20 and lower). Bayview station is on the newest addition of a line that's been a while now however it's a long stretch from the next western station being Sheppard-Yonge. This station has 3 above ground entrances, one at each corner of the intersection with the exception of the south west corner where there's a gas station and no ground level entrance. There's of course Bayview Village mall at the north east corner and has been for years a sort of specialty mall. I exited at the south east entrance and couldn't help but notice that sure they had an elevator but they didn't have an escalator at that entrance/exit. Let me tell you those stairs are long, quite long. I took a photo to explain how long it was and for not having an escalator it seems a bit longer than normal. Besides that the Sheppard line being a creature of Mel Lastman by being supposedly the busiest bus line in the city at the time, the buses still run from Yonge east on the 85. With the exception of Willowdale Ave every subway is a bus stop as well including Bayview along the 85 Sheppard East line which continues east past Don Mills when it becomes a regular bus route again. The 85 which starts at Yonge goes all the way east along Sheppard to the Meadowvale Loop and contines east towards Rouge Hill and Lawrence east. Bessarion station is one of the least busiest in the entire TTC and probably could have been well as a just a bus stop instead of an actual subway station. The 11 Bayview bus route starts from Davisville station on Yonge and goes east along Davisville before turning north along Bayview, passing the Sheppard line and goes all the way to Steeles Ave before turning. I remember having to say a prayer before I hovered to get the job done! The bus terminal itself is easy to navigate, but they like to tell you your bus last minute! The newest station on line 1 north of the Wilson Yards and currently the most northern station on…read morethe Spadina side of line 1 also the terminus station on the west side as well. The previous terminus (Wilson) has the multiple parking lots and much more parking since it was the previous end of the line just on the other side of the 401 at the much busy Yorkdale complex. Downsview station located at the south east corner of Allen and Sheppard is where Sheppard makes that dramatic detour around the Downsview airport runway near Chesswood. This station does have a north side entrance as well as a kiss and ride pickup area with actual parking spots instead of a rotary type hub like Finch or Kipling. Access to the parking and drop off area is accessible at the access road just east of Allen on the south side of Sheppard and access to just the parking lot is also available on the east side of Allen south of Sheppard. The parking lot at Downsview seems rather small but with room to grow if needed. Now that Downsview will no longer be the terminus station for this leg of line 1 after the extension to Vaughan is complete it's yet to be determined if more parking is even required. The station is has a large surface area for buses on both sides of the bus depot. The bus depot services quite a few bus routes from here: 84 Sheppard West begins west of Sheppard station (at Yonge) along Sheppard and crosses at Allen while remains on Sheppard to Weston road where it loops back around at Bradstock and Rivalda before heading back east. 101 Downsview Park is a very short route that simply goes around the Sheppard hump turns left on John Drury to Carl Hall road into the park. 104 Faywood runs between Downsview and Wilson stations. It takes a route from Wilson from Ansford to Faywood which turns into Wilmington north of Sheppard to Finch Ave, goes west to Dufferin and then turns to Kennard and down to Wilson Heights and then back to Sheppard to Downview station. 105 Dufferin North runs into Vaughan and requires additional fare when north of Steeles avenue. This route runs north on Dufferin and loops at Confederation parkway and then east on Rutherford road before turning back south again. 106 York University runs west along the Sheppard hump and then north on Sentinel road to York University main campus in a clockwise direction meeting The Pond road at six o'clock and Ian Macdonald before turning back to Sentinel going south. 107 Keele North has many variants but for the most part the 107C is the main route which makes its way west along the Sheppard hump through the industrial area near Tuscan Gate toe Keele and then north as far as Teston road in Vaughan. Same as the 105 additional fare is required north of Steeles avenue. 108 Downsview main run 108B runs west on the Sheppard hump to Arleta avenue and up Driftwood north of Finch to Strong Court and then briefly along Jane street before turning right back onto Driftwood again before heading south bound. 117 Alness runs up Allen/Dufferin to a dedicated bus roadway that runs parallel and north of Finch Ave to Alness up to Steeles and bakc down Dufferin. This route around the roadway and Alness runs clockwise before 3pm and counter clockwise after 3pm. As for the train platform it's long and wide with an arched roof. The trains on line 1 of course are wider than the Bloor/Danforth line 2 but the design of this station lends to more space and feels much more open than a majority of the older stations in the TTC system.

It has GO train service, and recently they've added all-day, 2-way service on weekdays during business hours which is great. The GO bus terminal is right beside with several routes offered. The train station serves as a VIA rail station and you can get to places like Montreal from this station. Tip: Closer to the bus station is The Village Bake Shop, which is a great place to get coffee, baked goods and such. You'd need to set aside a few extra minutes to go on a run there if you were getting on the train however. One frustrating thing, and for all GO stations for that matter, are the ridiculously slow ticket machines. There's a stress that cannot be compared to anything else when you hear the train rolling in and the machine takes half a minute just to bring up 'Union' station on the search. Practically a couple minutes just to get your ticket.

There's lots of free surface parking if you need it, but Brampton transit has many buses that go to Brampton Bus Terminal/Brampton GO so you can ditch the car entirely if you want! The area has a lot of good shops around it, but there are a few dodgy bits, so keep aware of your surroundings.

The new station is large and modern, capable of accommodating more people, but those are the only benefits. Aside from being a confusing maze with buses now on 2 levels, it has automatic doors in front of each bus that open only when the bus is there. At least, thats what its supposed to do. I usually take the Go train, but due to covid, the train has stopped its service and has now become a bus. I've taken this new bus route a few times already. Today, I arrived to the bus 2 minutes early and the automatic door was CLOSED. I was jumping up and down, trying to make eye contact with the bus driver on the other side. 1 person the bus stared right at me, as well as one employee on my side. No one said anything to the bus driver or me. 2 minutes went by and the bus drove away without me. this would not have happened at the old station, where there is no door between the bus and the passenger. Now I have to waste an extra hour of my life for the next bus. I plan to use this hour to warn others about this station and make my complaints. I regret not yelling and banging on the door like most other Torontonians.

But if the outside is anything like the inside, then I really missed out. The front of the Museum is a roundtable. These are the devices that spin trains and turn them around. And five or six locomotives and cars that you can climb on, climb over and take pictures with. Very cool. I need to get back to Toronto and when I do, I will definitely visit the Museum properly.
