This is where I pick up a cheap toy for the dog, with a section of inexpensive chew toys available, ready and waiting for your puppy to chew to pieces. Most are good quality, and I've found that even though long hours have been spent trying to destroy them, the toys hold up really well. As an avid believer in a good costume party, I've also hit this store up for bit and pieces for costumes. They stock a small range of wigs, dress ups and accessories and as they usually don't last the night, its good to not have to pay too much for these bits. I also have picked up sunglasses form these guys and my current $7 sunnies have lasted me almost a year...whether they are actually UV resistant is anyone's guess, however for $7 I cant complain.

It was only $3 and really cute. I also found a pretty random Scooby Doo Whoopy Cushion. I left it behind because it's really not a good idea for me to own one of those... my friends would kill me! The customer service here is friendly enough. The staff member stayed behind the counter while I browsed and he greeted me with a smile when I first walked in. The prices are really low and the items to be found are more original than most similar variety shops. It's worth a visit for some cheap knick-knacks.

While I was there I saw almost twenty couches, beds, bicylces, a few coffee tables and a variety of home decor items. It seems to be a family run business and they are so new to the area that they are yet to set up a phone line. The people I spoke to there were absolutely lovely and were super helpful when it came to answering my questions. Whilst they are still setting up, I can hedge a bet that this store is going to be quite good. Stock changes regularly and they have a sale board out the front where they write up a bargain of the day. Keep your eyes peeled on this one.

That said, these places are here to stay, and there's not much to be done about it once they've opened. And as far as these monstrosities go, this one isn't too bad. Parking is pretty easy, (although generally for only four hours - that's plenty of time to get in, get what you need and get out), there's a couple of supermarkets and pretty much everything you'll ever need. There are lots of really good restaurants within a stone's throw if you're hungry, but the food court has a couple of decent places too.

There is also a David Jones and Target if you prefer being in a department store. The Glen is a long 2 level building that offers ample parking and dining options. Besides their 2 food courts, just a few hundred meters down the road from the center is the Kingsway Strip which is a goldmine of cafes and restaurants. The Glen also offers a coles/woolworths/Thomas dux, as well as a center butcher, deli, fishmonger and Asian grocer.

The shop itself is pretty large and there is certainly a lot of stock packed in so you are spoilt for choice. There is a large range of party supplies and costumes, scrapbooking and craft supplies, dog toys, kids toys, tupperware and house decor items and plenty, plenty more. The service here is pretty standard with one staff member behind the counter. He stayed put the whole time I was in the store, but was quite friendly when I approached the counter. I found a cheap Rubiks Cube for only $2 but unfortunately it broke three days later. Whether that was a result of my enthusiasm or the quality of the plastic, I'll never know but it was fun while it lasted.

I love checking out NQR every now and then for the completely random range of items they stock…read more Although you cant bet on finding a winner every time, I usually leave with a swag of food, whether it be favourites for a discounted price, or something I haven't seen before that grabs my attention. Great for if you are having a party and need to stock up on finger food and dips etc, as the stuff is ready to eat and you'll save a bunch of great food that people are most likely going to devour whilst drunk. Basically, if you don't know how it works, NQR get regular brands of food, drinks, groceries and alcohol and sell them really cheap. These are brands you'll know of that might only have a month left on the expiry, or wound up here because they weren't selling well. However they get here is none of my business, all I'm concerned about is the fun of finding bizarre food items and buying them.

Decent service, okay range, generally adequate all round. The best thing about them is that they're local people, and shopping from local people is something that I do as much as I can.
