Dr. Leung is blessed with a very pleasant and efficient staff. He is very thorough, and referred me to excellent surgeons for an ablation and angiogram. He is always very careful to listen to my thoughts (even the uninformed ones) and explains very clearly his view, and his decisions. *PLEASE READ: Horrific bed side manner. Tom Leung suffers from a God complex. He screamed at my adult son and me when we called to request an update on my elderly father's condition. He berated us, called us selfish, said we should be forever 'grateful' towards him for performing heart surgery on my father. Grateful? Leung wasn't doing charity work. I've been a patient of Dr. Leung's for many years benefiting from his experience as a PCP/cardiologist and his excellent referrals to specialist colleagues performing open heart valve surgery, spinal surgery, other "minor" surgeries such as a hernia operation, various dermatological procedures, and cataract surgery to name a few ( I told you he's been my doc for a while...). Excellent and very kind cardiologist. Dr Tom Leung helped us even when we were not yet his patient. While my husband was hospitalized after a minor heart attack, we desperately needed an outside and objective opinion on next course of action. When hospital cardiologists were pushing for an invasive and expensive surgery procedure, Dr Tom Leung, referred by a family member, quickly responded to our phone call and examined photos of EKGs. Taking his professional advice, we avoided an unnecessary and most likely harmful procedure. He even wrote a needed prescription when the hospital refused to do so unless we accepted the surgery. A thorough and kind MD who is a cardiologist who is willing to maintain a G.P. practice. He has provided urgent consultation, as a cardiologist for some friends of mine. In those instances he was able to do the differential diagnosis which was life saving. I have been seeing him and his staff for 12 years. I have had some friends and family describe him as gruff at times. I have had this experience as well, so I usually see his excellent nurse practicioner Rosemary, or physician's assistant Deja and have a very thorough and expert visit at those times, with consultation from Dr. Leung. It works out great. Rosemary is a five star, she knows me, and has caught on to health risks which were urgent at the time, and lined up treatment with specialists. The front office staff are the best I've ever known with straightening out insurance and managed care problems, making referrals to specialists happen, and working out prescription problems as well. read more

Zero bedside manner and zero respect for patients. I was in the ER for supraventricular tachycardia. After doing X-rays, ct, and blood work, they said a cardiologist would be in to talk to me. Dr Leong walks in, shows me my ekg print out, tell me to take that to my primary care doc, tell her to refer me to dr leong and he will go in and fix it by placing a Cather in my heart. I asked "fix what?" He then says "I cannot explain, because it is too much and you will not understand." Then I asked, did the ct show something? To which he raised his voice and said "I don't care about the ct scan. I am the doctor." Seriously?? I asked him to leave the room and he became irrational and wouldn't leave. My husband had to ask him to leave because my heart rate was increasing on the monitors when the ER doctors were trying to get it down. Then Dr Leong says "I will remember your name and you will never be seen in my office!" Seriously?? Why would I go see you after being treated that way, let alone let you go in and do something to my heart. read more
