My daughter and I loved this restaurant, it offered vegan options and everything was absolutely delicious. If you're ever in Oaxaca you must try it.

The service was excellent. They know how to make you feel welcomed and explain each dish very well. The ambiance and decorations are great and really pay homage to more natural elements. I love the stacked dish ware throughout the restaurant. Must great the coconut water and lemongrass (note: it's coconut milk vs water but excellent).

My second time at Levadura de Olla and something not to miss in Oaxaca. Food and service are excellent and the tomato salad is something I look forward to next year! Here's what we ordered. - Guacamole with Champulines - Mayordomia moles (Black Mole with Chicken and Red Mole with Pork) - Oaxaca Native Tomatoes with Beet Puree and Fruit Vinaigrette - Fish of the Day - Nicuatole: Thickened burned milk with corn masa and prickly pear shaved ice from San Martin Lachila - Apple Cinnamon Tamale: Vanilla ice cream, apple, honey, and lemon - Warm Cornbread: Pixtle (mamey seed) cream and guava compote

The tomato salad was one of the most unique dishes I've eaten. All kinds of variety to try and really interesting. The orange and small black ones were fantastic. The other dishes were also quite good (especially the pozole beef dish) but the tomato salad is something I'll remember.

Wooowww what an amazing meal at Levadura de Olla. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful!! Around 5 pm they open the sky deck so you have a view of the sky. Service is attentive and alert. Food is very good and unique. Please try something different. All the unique dishes I ordered I loved! Probably need a reservation as it gets busy around 5pm. I had a 4pm reservation and there was still plenty of open tables but quickly filled up.

Loved this meal. The restaurant was elegant but casual. The vegetables were so fresh and the kids even loved the food. The tomato sampler, the tortillas, and the cocktails were all great. I think we had a server just to our table of 8. Beautiful place and showcased the local flavors!

Had an amazing time checking out this place. It's definitely an experience that is explained to you by the amazing service they offer. The restaurant has chill vibes and are extremely attentive.

This was my favorite restaurant during my trip to Oaxaca. The tamal de requesón is, in my opinion, the best dish to immerse you into Oaxacan cuisine. The tamal is very traditional, and this one was particularly tasty and not dry. Even if it was dry, though, the mole that accompanies it is fantastic. Some of the best I've had. On the right was a mole negro, and the left was the mole coloradito. Both had a small kick to it (I am horrible with spicy, and this was the right level of spice for me where it hit, but not unbearably so), but they were also a slight bit on the sweet side, so it was the perfect balance. I want to try again and again, but unfortunately, I am out of days and space in my stomach ! (p.s. - I need protein in my life, so since this was a vegetarian dish, I ordered a side of chicken (thigh) and they happily obliged for $45 pesos (~$2.50 usd). The cilantro mojito is my definite recommendation for the cocktail. It is made with mezcal, but you dont taste the smokiness, so its great if you are looking for an intro cocktail to mezcal. They also lined the rim with this interesting spice that I did not catch the name of (not spicy), and it really added to it. My only complaint was the service. I hate to complain about the food coming out too fast, but I was served a starter house chips and salsa + my mojito immediately after ordering (not a huge problem) and then my food came out no more than 5 mins later. The second I put down my fork, I was asked if I wanted dessert. I was too full for dessert still since I had just finished eating, so they brought me the check. Without exaggeration, I received the check 20 minutes after sitting down. It definitely drove the experience down for me, unfortunately. I would like to revisit, but hope this isnt the same experience next time.

I absolutely loved the colorful, soft aesthetics of this restaurant. It felt so raw, clean, rustic, and organic! The visuals definitely matched the food as well. It seems like the restaurant very much cares about sustainability and the healthiness of their ingredients + dishes as well. The presentation of all the food was exceptional and made for a heart-warming experience. The service was also excellent, as the food came out pretty immediately. My favorites: Plate of native Oaxacan tomatoes, beet puree and fruit vinaigrette, Confit pork ribs, beans and pickled vegetables, Guava mole, shrimp, battered cauliflower and Mixteca quelites, Warm corn cake, Holy pulquera

Spectacular meal. Jorge, our server, was super helpful in explaining the menu and familiarizing us with the local ingredients that we did not know about. I dont think I will ever be able to enjoy a tomato the same now. We started with the tomato salad and the guacamole made of a variety of avocados. The guacamole was straight forward and delicious and it was very cool to have the one variety that you could eat the skin still on. The tomato salad, with 12 different types of tomatoes, was totally mind blowing. Each and every tomato was so different in flavor and texture and it was the stand out dish of the evening. I will be thinking about those tomatoes for a long time. Truly, a must have. We ordered the tamales with the zucchini blossom flowers. Not our jam. Not because the dish was bad, by any means, but just not something we enjoyed. We have discovered from trying other tamales in other locations that we just do not enjoy tamales in general. The light brown mole in this dish was super pungent and strong and we did not like it. The darker, more direct, black mole was good. The tamale itself was not to our liking, like I mentioned, but the consistency was very soft and fluffy. The presentation of the dish itself was gorgeous. The other dish was finished with was the pesca del día. The fish of the day. And it was delicious. It came on a bed of rice that was cooked in tomatoes. And served with some peppers and another vegetable. Absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked, and a good sized portion. We finished with the cornbread dessert with the guava cream. Very yummy. The cornbread was the perfect texture and not too dry. The guava cream was not too sweet but blended perfectly with the sweetness of the cornbread. Overall, this meal was not only fantastic but so affordable. We could not recommend this place enough.

Came for lunch today. This place was on my list for Oaxaca and I knew I wanted to go at some point but I didn't have a reservation until Friday. I was able to walk in around 2:30pm with no wait and was seated at a wonderful table right in the center of the restaurant. It's a beautiful place with stunning decor. I ordered a mezcalita with maracuya and the drink was okay, a little sweet but it was cheap (around $120) so I can't complain too much. They brought out salsa for an appetizer which was excellent. I wanted to try the heirloom tomato salad and they were great about accommodating a half portion for me as the full was way too big. I also ordered a mole dish that was good but again I had to take half of it to go as the size was extreme. Prices are around $250-400 pesos for enteees which I think is reasonable. Overall I would absolutely go back! Wonderful place.

I think Levadura de Olla was our favorite meal we had in Oaxaca. The tomato salad is just as delicious as it is beautiful. Their mole was fantastic. The inside is so dreamy. And their portions were so generous that we really only needed the two dishes to feel full. We made a lunch reservation weeks in advance and I'm glad we did so - the restaurant fills up quickly.

This restaurant was easily one of the best (if not the best) meals during my week in Oaxaca. We didn't have a reservation but I highly recommend you make one if you're committed to trying it. There were no reservations available for the days we were trying to go, but we dropped by very early (I want to say 5ish) on a Friday evening just to see if by chance there was an open spot for three and we got very lucky. The restaurant itself has a wonderful open outdoor setup and the comal is part of the interior of the restaurant itself which I thought was a great touch. It has great potential for a romantic dinner if you so choose. We ordered a variety of items including the tomato platter, pork tamal with adobo sauce, mole, as well as the mahi mahi. Everything was really and truly delicious. Top hit for me was definitely the tomatoes, I've never been a huge tomato fan but I could have easily killed that plate as a satisfying meal. They also have a table with a display of the various tomatoes in another room which I recommend checking out! This is a spot I would definitely come back to again if I'm back in Oaxaca.

I thought it was funny when I got the menu and the food menu was only one page while the drink menu was five pages. The outside of the restaurant is blue-ish and the restaurant has multiple rooms. The ceviche del dia ($190 MXN) was a little sweet and not as tart or sour as others I've had. The tacos de sirloin ($170) were really good and were our group's favorite. The taquitos dorados de mole negro ($140) were okay; there was no meat just in case you were wondering. The aguachile rojo de camaron ($190) were good. The esquite con tuetano ($100) was not like a typical corn in a cup but it was closer to a corn soup. For drinks I had the pequeño gigante ($210) which was good. The paloma madura and paloma margarita were both favorites among our group. We went during the day and it wasn't that busy but supposedly it gets way busier and livelier at night.

We were able to get a seat right away and the servers were super helpful. My friend wanted to try some mezcal and they let us taste a couple before choosing. We sat at the restaurant instead of the bar because it was cuter and I wanted food too. I tried two of their fruity mezcal drinks and loved both. I forget the names but one had watermelon, and the other had coconut and lime. I ordered cheese stuffed plantains with mole and this was soooo good. It was very filling too!
