His calm demeanor and his profound inner peacefulness permeates his entire being and spills over into the whole atmosphere of his state of the art offices in downtown westport. He is so intune with people on so many different levels and it's very sublte and unassuming. He is a role model for so many of the children who frequent his offices. He models the "right relationship" with correct "boundaries" during the sessions and this kind and gentle way affects and ripples into all other outside toxic relationships that his clients and patients come to him in depseration and crisis to "fix". He is a strengthener of the positive aspects of a person rather than an exposer of the weak areas of a person. I have seen the results of this in many of the clients he treats. I have met with people who have referred to themselves as therapists, ministers, pastors, and counselors. Not one of them has had the "gift" of compassion and care that Nicholas has. Instead their reviews would all get a minus 5 stars. Possibly Nicholas is just a nice person who genuinely loves people and helping them get stronger in their inner life to face the hassles of everyday life...and this in itself makes the others look weak and inefficient. I strongly encourage people to step out of their pain and uncertainty and make an appointment with Nicholas, who can truly help.

I had a terrible experience with Behavior Associates (BA) -- and their billing and scheduling…read moreplatform, Headway. BA assured me they took my insurance, scheduled a mandatory intake, and then assigned me a therapist, and we began sessions. Only later did they say my insurance didn't cover their services, but that I could pay out of pocket. When I said I couldn't afford that, they said I still had to pay for the intake and the other session becuase I "had received services." Meanwhile, I checked with my insurance company, which said neither BA nor Headway had ever inquired about coverage for me, and that their actions "seemed suspicious." Only after I informed BA I would file a complaint did they agree not to charge me. Wasted my time and trust. Shameful.

He navigated me through many emotional storms. After a couple years Doc felt our work together was successful and discharged me. A few years later, my son began to have trouble at school. He was in the fourth grade and lacked self control. He was the class clown. Dr. Glatzer treated him and the success was extraordinary. My son stopped acting out and misbehaving. My son went from a teacher's nightmare to the teacher's preferred student. He became a straight A student and no more behavioral issues. My son became an honors student and a leader of his class. After years of success with Dr. Glatzer, we decided to challenge his skills at couples counseling. My wife and I hit a brick wall in our relationship. Dr. Glatzer agreed to treat us. Couples therapy is not a walk in the park or for the timid. My wife and I thought our marriage was doomed and were skeptical about couples counseling. We agreed, if counseling was not successful , we would become a statistic ending in the "D" word. Dr. Glatzer was a referee, counselor and educator. As I recall, It felt like there were more dark days than I care to count. My wife and I received only one marriage counseling session and then he split us up into individual sessions for the remaining 4 months, likely to double up on payments. To make matters worse, he was obviously unhappy I was far more financially successful than he was and its a pitiful to pay a "professsional" for this behavior. He didn't have the self awareness to remain impartial about details of my life. Furthermore, he demonstrated poor emotional intelligence and a lack of mature values which expectantly dictated his unprofessional behavior. As I should have seen before here on Yelp, that experience wasn't unique and he has clearly built a reputation for for it. Like others have stated here, stay away.

I still find myself often saying, "Emotions are great direction givers in the back seat, but they should never be driving the car." One of my therapists was just a few years out of school and I felt like he was trying to fit me into a case study formula. Another one I liked better because he was smart and seemed kind, but after months of sessions I still didn't feel that he understood me. None of the psychiatrists helped at all. Maybe a felt better on the medicines, but I couldn't be sure. One of the doctors told me that "I know the perfect medicine to help you", and after three months I just felt worse. I stopped all that, but after a year or so my old dark feeling started creeping back over me, and I thought I had to try therapy again. One of my friends had heard about Dr. Anderson, and I was desperate to get out from that constant cloud. Dr. Anderson is great! She made me feel comfortable pretty soon, even though I was feeling skeptical because of my previous frustrating attempts at getting help. Dr. Anderson listened to me carefully and when she spoke, I had a sense that she knew what I was feeling. I knew she had lots of experience and it showed. I knew that I was in good hands. She also had a comfortable attitude which helped me relax. I knew that I was talking to a professional person, but she also felt like a real person. Instead of helping me with the situation, their billing department sent me on an emotional roller coaster calling every week for several months. It took so much of my energy and time.
