You know that you have hit a new low in terms of personal organisation when you manage to 'forget' organising anything in the way of an outfit for a 1920s event until mid morning on the day of the event itself. As a gent, this presented a particularly problematic situation as most shops focus on ladies outfits. With time ticking on and having walked up and down Brick Lane looking for outfits in the usual suspects, I stumbled upon Levisons. Unlike its neighbours, Levisons focuses on vintage menswear from throughout the 20th century.
Browsing the rails was made easy by handy tags indicating the era of the garment and the owner was also on hand to provide knowledgeable guidance. The clothes are not cheap (£100+ for a suit) but all appeared to be authentic and in good condition. Needless to say, Levisons kitted me out in everything I needed.
