If I remember correctly, more often than not, he did both the mammogram and followed up with the ultrasound, particularly since those of us with very fibrocystic breasts have mammograms that are difficult to read. LOOKS AS THOUGH DR. LEVINE WAS FAR AHEAD OF HIS TIME. The latest research shows that doing a mammogram and an ultrasound is much more effective at diagnosing breast cancer. Do a google on USNews on mammograms and ultrasounds to detect breast cancer. I tried to provide the link, but it was recognized as a single word and I was not allowed to provide it. The techs were wonderful, too, and the care that I got at this facility was top notch. Wendy, my sonographer, was terrific as well. Dr. Levine is a very caring, personable, extremely thorough physician. I always felt very secure in knowing that he was the one reading my films, and if my insurance would pay , I would still be driving the 50 miles, which is saying a lot about the quality of care given by Dr. Levine. Communication is questionable her office is run by nurse practitioners which can be fine, but when it's my heart we're dealing with and communication gets dicey. It feels a little like the game of telephone, the info is interpreted by others before it gets to md. If they don't have a responsible system of communication there a lot of room for error. If I can't trust the messages I leave are received and or followed up on errors occur. Contact isn't followed through on and I ended being charged for appointments that were previously cancelled. Like having too many cooks in the kitchen. If you can deal with that my belief is Nitza is an excellent cardiologist.

Many patients had established relationships with their doctors for years, only to find themselves scrambling to locate new providers and navigate insurance confusion during an already stressful transition. What makes this even more frustrating is that public statements during the sale process suggested patients would continue to have access to their insurance coverage under the new ownership structure. Yet many patients later experienced uncertainty or loss of access depending on their plan participation and contract negotiations. The bankruptcy itself was tied to massive Medicare billing discrepancies reportedly totaling hundreds of millions of dollars.
