Service leaves a lot to be desired. We ordered the maracuya (passion fruit) margaritas and they came our watery and without a hint of maracuya. We e told the server right away and she basically told us that maracuya was there and dismissed our dissatisfaction. The food was very good, but we won't be returning die to the poor service. We had to flag her for everything, from bringing the needed silverware for those that didn't have one at our table to eventually the bill. When the craving for South American food comes back, I rather spend my money at Rio's in Addison or Colombian Taste in Itasca. read more

No thank you, we were already starving. The food was ok. Nothing special or worth the wait. The steak on my Bandeja Paisa was smaller than the size of my palm, and I have small hands. The service: Slow, no water refills without asking, plus there was no follow through after two waitresses said, "I will be back," after we asked both of them separately if there could possibly be a problem with our Colombiana sodas because they tasted like they were "diet" (not our normal experience with Colombiana). The food: It was edible but there are definitely better Colombian experiences in Chicagoland. Started with two empanadas that were just ok. We had the Bandeja Paisa and the piece of carne that came with it was paper thin, tiny, dry and flavorless. Frijoles could have been warmer. The nice large steak that my daughter ordered Medium Rare came out medium to well done. Plus, all of the food took forever to come out. Place was pretty full so we were asked to sit at bar in the meantime. Bartender said she would remind waiter we were waiting for table since they brought menu and silverware to the bar. Once we were seated, they completely forgot about us. We flagged down the manager and he said he was sorry that the person that seated us probably forgot, I reminded him it was him. We didn't have a set server so we had to ask whoever passed by for drinks. Menu isn't too big, I expected to see more options. Food was good, portions are nice size but the service is terrible. In this industry "I'm sorry " doesn't make up for lack of service. Ambiance is pretty relaxed and casual. Music is the right volume to carry on a conversation comfortably. My friends and I decided to check out this new Colombian restaurant during lunch. It is also my first time experience Colombian food, so not able to judge if it is authentic but the foods are delicious! The staffs are friendly and helpful in explaining the menu. The portion size is generous. One of my friends and I shared the Bandeja Paisa, which presented in a two tiers rack - bottom plate has the main items like rice, sweet plantain, grilled beef, chorizos sausage, arepa, fried egg, and arepa, and top is a bowl of soup with bean which you add to rice and meat. In my own experience, the bean "soup" adds additional flavor or acts as a sauce. In the restaurant, you'll also see a display shelves with pastry and desserts. So we couldn't resist the temptation. For desserts, we have hot chocolate (which serves with fresh cheese), and pastry (churros with guava jam, and bun with cheese and guava filling). Absolutely delicious! I also ordered a soursop juice with milk (not quite a smoothie or milkshake). It is quite delicious. I have soursop when I was in Malaysia and Brazil, so delighted to have it again. There are a few soups on the menu that are only available towards the end of the week, so I'll definitely come back to try them. read more

Went for a quick lunch on a Friday. The service was great and we enjoyed the food. The meat soup we ordered was amazing . The meat was so tender and the broth was flavorful. We shared the Picada Lenos X2 for an appetizer but it was a lot of food and we were all full by the time dinner came lol. It was very delicious, would highly recommend. I had the steak sandwich de patacon. It's like a Puerto Rican jibarito. I'm not used to sweet and savory and there was something sweet in the sandwich maybe the onions? We always like to try Colombian places near somewhere we don't go often. The food was great but the reason giving 3 stars is because the service was horrible. Our server never smiled, kinda seemed annoyed by our questions. We got there at 11 because we wanted lunch and every restaurant starts lunch at 11, but not here I guess. They start lunch at 11:30. We'll we asked if we can get a few things that were on the lunch menu and he said he had to ask the cook. Ended up working out but he just seemed to be having a bad day and not liking that we even asked. Another thing I didn't like was that the bathroom had a HUGE mirror in front of the toilet.... Do not I repeate do not order the Picada Leños, 98% of it was just fillers of potatoes and barely any meat! We even got the X2 thinking there would be more meat but very disappointed! The barely given meat itself was either too dry or so crispy it was sticky not worth the $40+ more like $10 if that. Not to mention when I went to pick up the food there were no customers and the person working was rude and asked 2x what my order was, they didn't even have any other order besides mine! I was really hoping this place was going to be great but everything was just so bland :( I got the lunch special which was white rice, steak, tostones, and salad. The steak was over cooked and bland, the rice was bland, the tostones didn't come with any sauce, nor were they salted. The salad had way too much onion. I ordered a side of beans to try and make all this dry food wet and hoped it would give it more flavor but It was a no go. Came here with my friend who has lived in Colombia for years and a south American food enthusiasts. I ordered the lunch special that comes with a lukewarm broth with pieces of beef. The entree came equally lukewarm with beef cooked frozen vegetables stew. The meal fell below expectations. My friend ordered off menu blood sausage and roasted pork belly. The blood sausage was good and has a crunch to the casing. However the arepas for both our orders were cold and dry. On a slightly positive note, the empanada was interesting with a crunchy crust. All in all, there is nothing to recommend about this place. And they need to stop that suggesting minimum tip at 18%. Tipflation has gotten out of hands so get with it. The host had the nerve to stop by to look at the tip amount and walked away. The mediocre food and average service does not deserve that generous tip. read more

For the app, Patacones. $10 for three, well seasoned, cups of beefy and herby flavors with a touch of tomato that invites the next two cups. Main, The Churrasco Leños, medi-yum rare. Yes, yum! The sizzling tone sent my mouth to water overdrive, and my smile, uncontrolled. A beautiful cut of sirloin with a chimichurri sauce gliding on top of the beautiful steak. Perfect combo that packs steak flavor and calms herbaceous urges in every bite. Potatoes, soaks it all up and embeds the beef flavor into these starchy orbs. To wash it down, passion fruit/Maracuyá Margarita. Silky smooth and sweet joy in every gulp. Yes gulp. Sip if you want. Doesn't matter! This drink is awesome! And cause I was curious, a sugar cane/Panela lemonade. I finished that within minutes! A fine line between too sweet and "oh you almost had it." This drink is right in that line. Amazingly addictive and will make you want to make your own at home, this drink can tame your sweet tooth and you don't feel bad about it. Overall, I love it here. Oh yeah, that digs are calming and you can definitely chill here for a bit. People are sweet too. Give them a high five when you get the chance. read more
