My husband and I went to El Asadero Colombiano with some friends for dinner on a Thursday night. The restaurant had pretty good traffic for being early in the evening. The restaurant was painted and decorated with the colors of the Colombian flag. My husband ordered the chicken and rice while I had the breaded shrimp. My plate was 90% rice and French fries and salad. I couldn't tell the difference between this shrimp and what I would find in the freezer section of my grocery store. They charged $21 for this dish!!! My husband's chicken was not flavored very well. I cannot recommend El Asadero Colombiano.

Came to El Asadero Colombiano with a group of friends for dinner. The inside is pretty spacious with two main rooms. I ordered the tostones and arepa con queso. Although I know tostones aren't sweet, these were pretty bitter and didn't have much flavor. The arepa con queso reminded me of corn bread, but a lighter corn flavor with mild cheese. I tried the chicken from someone else's dish and it was actually cooked really well. Tender and flavorful. I would recommend the chicken if you wanted to try this restaurant, but the rest of the food unfortunately wasn't what I expected.

I came here for the Carne Asada and I was not disappointed! I opted out of the beans because I don't like beans in general. The juices from the meat seeped onto the rice and it was very delicious and filling! The meat was tender, juicy, hot, and flavorful! If you're looking for a great lunch deal, this is a spot you must try!

The place looks small but there are extra space/tables on the other side. The place is not full on a Saturday. The food is pretty good. We ordered Bandeja Paisa which is the steak, chicharonnes and sausage with different sides like arepas, friend plantain. The meats were very tasty and tender. I love the chicharonnes. I love the sides especially the arepas. The waiter is very nice, he gave us recommendations. The food also came out fast. This is a place. Their lunch is affordable $12 and we were able to order it during dinner. The entree are about $25++ but big servings. This is a Colombian resto we could go back to.

Having lived in the area for a year now, driving past here daily, and not stopping in, I'm embarrassed. This is a true local gem! The atmosphere is very authentic and energetic. There is tons of hustle and bustle but also attention to detail. The service is quick, friendly, and attentive. They truly have their rhythm down to a science. The food was very tasty and well seasoned. There's no question that the preparation and execution is thoughtful and authentic. I'm glad that I finally stopped in and experienced this place. I'm worried I may never cook at home again. Can't wait to visit again.

Tasty food, large portions and very quick service; even on a busy Mother's Day service. My Colombian family thinks it is legitimate food.

Yes, the rotisserie dish Chicken was absolutely divine. The portions were very good. The Carne Asada was equally as good.

The staff was very nice and the food was amazing. To be honest I would go back for their arepas alone but everything else was great too.

My chicken dinner was good, but the plantains tasted days old and were hard. Used way too much oil.

So our server stated that our first-choice food selections were not available (steak jibarito and beef arepa) so instead we then ordered empanadas (one beef, one shrimp) and the chuleta valluna. We noticed that the kitchen was slingin' some massive plates of food, so we decided to split the one entree and the empanadas. Well the server comes along and says they are out of shrimp empanadas. How can a restaurant be out of so many food items when it is barely past 1PM? We decided to do just the single entree and the single empanada. I also ordered a can of Inca Kola (good stuff, though I had to beg for the drink after our food was served), and we did get some ice water. The beef empanada was AOK, not bad. The chuleta valluna features a massive flattened breaded pork chop along with many items (rice, fries, yuca fries, tostones, yellow potato, salad). The menu mentioned this dish would also have sweet plantain, but perhaps the yuca fries were a sub for the sweet plantain. I gotta admit, the food overall is pretty good. The service from the staff was pleasant, but there was always something "off" during our dining experience. When the bill came, we were charged for the shrimp empanada that was not being served, so we had to ask for a corrected bill to deduct the missing empanada. Overall we had extremely mixed feelings about our lunchtime here. Perhaps it was just a super busy day here, but I am feeling overly generous with my three-star review.

For a $5.50 "basic" coffee, accuracy in labeling matters. it's very misleading to have that description.. the service is also quiet slow although the waitresses are polite, they are S-L-O-W and will take people out of order from when they arrived.

You get Polombia, one of the only (that I know of) restaurants that brings together Poland and Colombian cuisine. I had gone to their former location in the now closed Washington Food Hall and enjoyed the cuisine immensely....but a couple weeks ago, I went to their current location in the Ogilvie Train Station within their food court. This time around, I decided to play it safe and try their paczki burger that of course has a Colombian twist. The bun itself was the paczki part but the inside it had an angus patty with melted cheese, sofrito, pickled slaw, and a garlic and tomato Aioli. It also had pickles in it too. I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty and satisfying the burger was. It was neither too sweet nor too savory....something that I'd try again in a heartbeat. Check this location out. But note that its towards the back of the food court and could be easily missed. They also have a stand at Rate Field, Home of the Chicago White Sox.

I thought it would be like a pierogi with Colombian spiced filling. After waiting for some time, I got a plate of pierogis topped with braised beef. What I got what very meaty and good, but not all what I was expecting. The portion was ample and the pierogis themselves were quite good. I don't love huge portions of just meat, but for someone who does, this spot delivers in spades. While the service was friendly and helpful, they were quite slow, especially for a lunch spot in a food hall.
