Chef Kendra is an awesome Caterer! Not only is she an amazing talented professional, but Chef Kendra has a great personality. She treated my finance and I like family. We met her in July 2019 and we booked her to cater our Wedding Reception but, due to Covid-19, we had to reschedule for this year, June 19, 2021. Chef Kendra was incredibly flexible with the food tastings, and let us try food on multiple occasions to make sure we had the menu we wanted. The food for a wedding is one of the most expensive ticket items, so you want to be sure you know what specific things your money is going to. She worked with us to keep the cost within our budget, but never once sacrificed quality of food or service. Chef Kendra is very straightforward and transparent with her pricing and did not have any hidden fees or extra charges to sneak in there at the end. No ridiculous corking fees, cake-cutting fees, etc. Furthermore, our menu consisted of barbeque meat balls (cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres) Salad, Rolls, Roasted Herb Chicken, Honey Glazed Salmon, California blend vegetables, baked Macaroni and cheese, and Freshly Squeezed Homemade Lemonade. The food was exceptional, and all of the serving staff was polite and efficient. It was refreshing to have someone reliable and experienced to handle such an important aspect as food. Lastly, I definitely appreciate her work ethic and I definitely recommend others to hire Cooking with A Star, LLC for your upcoming event. The food was only set up when the event was already halfway over, which was extremely disappointing. While the food itself tasted good once served and the staff was courteous upon arrival, the complete lack of communication and reliability made the event stressful and unprofessional. Catering relies heavily on timing, and this experience fell far short of expectations for the price point. To this day, the owner, Clair, has never reached out to even communicate with me about what occurred. I would not recommend this caterer for time-sensitive events unless they improve their professionalism, punctuality, and client communication.

I paid the deposit via their Quickbooks but wasn't able to find a link for the balance. I called and emailed the entire day before the balance was due but wasn't emailed back until 3:30 that afternoon. I wanted to pay via Venmo or Quickbooks (as stated in their contract) but wasn't able to and was told that I had to pay via my credit card. The credit card payment included a 3% surcharge which was substantial due to the amount that I owed. On top of that, they asked for a tip! We were picking up the order. I felt pressure to tip so I did! I wasn't able to adjust the amount of food that I ordered with a final count either and had so much wasted food. I wouldn't recommend their service.
