Planning a 50th wedding anniversary party is nerve-wracking enough, but we had to do it from two time zones away. I made the initial contact with Figs and Honey to make sure they were available on our date and that they would be willing to travel to our obscure and out-of-the-way venue at a nature conservation center in Newton County. After confirming those two details, Mr. P. handled the rest of the planning. He reports that the lines of communication were always open and our event planner (Debbie) made everything very easy. Since we live in Denver, we weren't able to attend a tasting prior to making food selections. The menu is large and varied and everything sounded delicious. Unfortunately, we didn't have an unlimited budget, so we had to narrow things down and make smart choices. We wanted some passed apps while everyone waited for the happy couple to arrive, a few more passed apps after the vow renewal ceremony, and a buffet dinner. We supplied our own cake, which F&H kindly cut and served for us. Here was our menu: Apps: - Greek Skewers (Kalamata olive, grape tomato, artichoke and cucumber in feta vinaigrette} - Caprese Skewers (grape tomato, fresh mozzarella & Kalamata olive in basil pesto) - Bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with goat cheese - Crostini of barbecued chicken, queso fresco and cilantro slaw - Bruschetta with rosemary white bean hummus, caramelized onion, feta cheese and black olive Entrees: - Marinated Beef Tenderloin Au Pois - Lemon Artichoke Chicken Breast Sides: - Rosemary roasted potatoes - Grilled asparagus - Mixed greens salad We, and our guests, were extremely impressed with both the food and the service. Julia and her crew were on the ball! Anytime they had a question or concern, or anything we didn't even consider, she was quick to ask and come up with solutions. I feel like we really lucked out with excellent food and terrific service without having met anyone from Figs and Honey in person until just a couple of hours before our event began. The pricing was competitive compared to other area caterers, especially considering all the various menu options and the quality of the food. As Julia said to me, you hire a caterer so you can enjoy your party. I hired Figs & Honey for a 75-person open house last month with a scheduled arrival/setup by 1pm. Unfortunately, they arrived three hours late and did not return any of my calls or texts during that time despite multiple attempts. The food was only set up when the event was already halfway over, which was extremely disappointing. While the food itself tasted good once served and the staff was courteous upon arrival, the complete lack of communication and reliability made the event stressful and unprofessional. Catering relies heavily on timing, and this experience fell far short of expectations for the price point. To this day, the owner, Clair, has never reached out to even communicate with me about what occurred. I would not recommend this caterer for time-sensitive events unless they improve their professionalism, punctuality, and client communication. read more

I used Figs and Honey for my daughter's wedding shower. The food was ok but the service was less than acceptable. I was trying to pay my balance and couldn't find anywhere to pay. I paid the deposit via their Quickbooks but wasn't able to find a link for the balance. I called and emailed the entire day before the balance was due but wasn't emailed back until 3:30 that afternoon. I wanted to pay via Venmo or Quickbooks (as stated in their contract) but wasn't able to and was told that I had to pay via my credit card. The credit card payment included a 3% surcharge which was substantial due to the amount that I owed. On top of that, they asked for a tip! We were picking up the order. I felt pressure to tip so I did! I wasn't able to adjust the amount of food that I ordered with a final count either and had so much wasted food. I wouldn't recommend their service. read more

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible. Do not use this company. We used them for my daughter's wedding 4/27/24 and the catering was a disaster. I was upsold and had a huge amount of food left over and food was not served to each table. The food that was served arrived cold. There was not enough staff and the tables were not cleared after the meal. Guests started bussing the tables themselves to remove the used dishes. The staff complained that they were not given proper instructions. The bartenders did not provide garnishes for the drinks, no limes, lemons, etc. My phone calls and emails have been ignored. I paid a lot of money for catering and it was a disaster. Luckily I had pizza delivered for the late night snack. read more

Buyer beware!! I was informed this company has recently been bought out and is under new management (in 2023). This company did not provide service at a level that was consistent with their previous ownership. Entree- They were short 39 full meals, including the entrée. This is nearly 1/4 of a 200 person wedding. The chicken entrée provided at the wedding was not what was presented to us at the tasting. It was prepared differently. Dry roasted with skin on at tasting vs. baked skinless with a sauce at Wedding. Protein portions were smaller than what was provided at the tasting and the couple wasn't notified portion size would change. There was no communication with guests that the vegetarian/vegan meals on the unmanned buffet line were for 5 specific people. Even though they were given a detailed list for those 5 guests ahead of time with table numbers and even labels at the seats from the wedding planner. Dessert- Less than 1/4 of the guests had dessert. We didn't have a wedding cake so we were depending on these desserts. The apple dessert bars were different from what was provided at the tasting. The bars were half the size and didn't seem to be cooked completely through. The crust on the bottom was completely different in texture and flavor. Bride & Groom To-go meal- wasn't provided after requesting and confirming. The importance of to go meal for the bride was discussed (I have multiple food allergies and sensitivities). The staff was unaware of a to-go meal for the couple. To-go meals are standard for catering companies, much less that it was heavily requested and confirmed for this couple. Service- The buffet was not served nor even manned to ensure guests only took one piece. The guests were not notified to only take one entrée either. This was a huge mistake by the catering company since the portion sizes were so small and since they ordered the exact amount of food for the number for wedding guests. Service- The 5 staff that were sent for the wedding service were in no way prepared or had understanding of the basic tasks, and were not there in time to complete the basics of catering responsibilities. The lead caterer was unfortunately caught vaping in the venue kitchen by the venue owner. They ran the timeline behind the entire event shortening the reception and dancing time for the couple and wedding guests. They did not provide ice for the non-alcoholic beverage table. The wedding planner had to send an assistant to buy ice. No attention to customer service for guests and keeping their water glasses full even though water service was part of the service. Not enough catering staff/experienced staff was sent. Wedding planner paid attention to couple entire night making sure they had drinks and water. Did not clear tables in a timely manner. Wedding planner staff was clearing tables because guests were sick of looking at their food plates and asking for them to be moved. The groom himself and father of the bride had to step into the kitchen because of the poor service. Communication - it was difficult with the manager throughout the process and many things were repeated multiple times from the wedding planner and the bride to the manager. There was a lack of attention to detail, email response was slow, questions were not clearly answered. The bride had to repeat questions multiple times to get a clear and straight answer. We had such high hopes and food service was very important to us. We put a lot of money and hard work into this event along with our other vendors and everything was set up for great success but unfortunately with catering, it did not go the way we were hoping for causing a big portion of our wedding event to be an embarrassing failure. We truly hope no couple or wedding planner has to ever experience this again. read more

I was planning the first event for my new boss and I was most nervous about finding the right caterer. I found Figs & Honey through a google search for "Best Charcuterie in Atlanta". I sent an email with the event details and Cristian got right back to me with a extremely reasonable quote for selections of hors d'oeuvres and charcuterie. I host events often, and I have never worked with a company that was so responsive, reasonably priced, had such wonderful staff, and an awesome chef! Everyone was so easy to work with and so very kind and helpful! And, y'all, the food...THE FOOD WAS THE ABSOLUTE BEST I'VE EVER HAD! We had flank steak, chicken, veggies, potatoes, and salad. Although I had had hors d'oeuvres from Figs & Honey before, I had never actually ordered full meals from them. Now, during the Corona Virus stay at home situation, I ordered three meals from them. First of all, let me say that each one was delicious. They came beautifully boxed, ready to be heated, and were high end restaurant quality. I ordered Pecan Salmon with roasted sweet potatoes and lemon dijon green bean almondine, Parmesan Salmon with wild rice and asparagus, and Portobello stuffed mushrooms with herb roasted asparagus. Figs and Honey exceeded my expectations for our academic/corporate evening event. I've worked with caterers up and down the East coast for a variety of high-end events - the most desirable outcome for me is to delegate to people I can trust - pick my venue, pick my menu, and leave the rest in the hands of the experts so I can focus on program details. We selected 10 items from their hot and cold hors-d'oeuvres menu, served from a stationary buffet and bar. Julia and Deb were always available via email and quick to respond to my questions. Julia met with me once onsite before the event to see the kitchen area, plan her execution, and secure last minute details. On the evening of the event, the service they provided to our guests was warm and friendly, and our menu had a great variety (many gluten-free options). Our 80 guests commented on the quality and taste of the food, the selection, as well as the lovely artistic presentation. Because F&H were so available leading up to the event, I was free to leave things in their capable hands and enjoy the event worry-free.
