I came here for lunch with my friend and fellow Yelper Megan S. on a sunny Thursday. Because of the great weather we dined on a table on their patio which is facing the street, but since they put up some large potted plants you don't feel exposed and it is not too noisy. I ordered the Luian with beef and was quite happy with my choice. The food was yummy.. It felt like a Tibetan pasta with bolognese sauce, so some of the flavors seems familiar while others were new and provided a new side to a familiar dish. I definitely enjoyed it. The portion was on the larger side and although I ended up eating more than initially expected ;), I was not able to finish it all, so I ended up taking the rest home (which was later devoured by my husband). (On a positive side note: I left full, but the food was not sitting heavy in my stomach at all which was definitely appreciated.) I have previously rated this place a 5/5 at their other location (I have copied and pasted old review below as it still stands). This place has moved locations but after checking out the new one, the 5/5 still stands. Oddly enough, the momos have gotten even better. This place deserves all of the business it receives!!!! And then some! Old review: .........and I've basically just discovered my new favorite place to eat in Frankfurt. The menu is 7 items deep. No joke. Each item has variations of itself, but there are really only 7. I absolutely love this as it allows them to deliver each flawlessly and not just as a mediocre version of the dish. I ordered three items: momos (beef), mo-thuk (wild garlic with meat), and sha pale (minced beef). Each one was delicious as the next. The outside of the place may deter you from heading inside. Don't let it. :) It may appear to be a kiosk and you may have to squint to read the sign- but the restaurant does exist and is clean and inviting on the inside. The restaurant is small. Only really five tables or so. They also do not take reservations. After seeing high reviews on Yelp for Lhamo, I was worried we may not get a table there despite what day we headed there (I don't care for waiting in line as I am an impatient American). Therefore, we went on a Tuesday and were to chance our luck. When we arrived at around 6pm, there was more or less no one inside except us, and the minimal staff. By the time we left, it was filled to capacity. Go early! While the food was incredible, my favorite thing about Lhamo was the price point. We had two large Beck's and the three dishes mentioned above and our bill was 26 Euros. We ordered way too much and would have been fine with just two of the dishes for sure. My cousin is a regular here and brought me here for the first time. He has been raving about their dim sum and hand-pulled noodles for some time now. The restaurant was very large, clean and was family owned. The owners were very nice and very accommodating. I had the hand pulled noodles and veggie bowl with meat sauce. The noodles were very good and the bowl was very flavorful. The portion was very large. I look forward to trying their dim sum next time. I recommend this place if you are looking for Chinese/Tibetan food. read more

This place is hands down amazing. Originally located in a small little place they have now moved to a larger restaurant which suits their growing customer base. Their limited menu means they have a perfect menu where every thing on it is as tasty as the next. The menu also tries to explain what the food is like for those not familiar with Tibetan food. The Momos are amazing and reasonably priced and bring back fond memories of my time in Nepal where I had a diet that largely consisted of Momos from different places. The wait staff are friendly and there are lots of books available to read so you can study up on the the culture and history of Tibet. read more

We went for late dinner. They have a nice sitting area outside. Menu is limited, but everything looked good. We did not have any of the soups. Noodles are home made. We had pork Momos (dumplings) for the table to share, and they were really good! The order has 10 dumplings. You can choose to eat them with vinegar or soy sauce. I did not like them with vinegar, it is not bad, just different. Then, we had a beef noodle plate and a veggie noodle plate. Not sure why the charge more for the veggie noodle plate, since it comes with the basic veggies that they advertise in the general description. Very little beef in the beef plate, expect more veggies than beef. Overall, food was OK and it was not expensive. Beer (as in any place in Germany) was inexpensive. Lets be real, it deserves 6 stars. Yes, the interior is pedestrian, but it works fine. The main star, which is obviously the food, is delicious, fresh and absolutely fairly priced. The service is also quick and friendly, so yeah, you can't go really wrong here. Totally recommended. read more
