Exactly what I'm looking for in a restaurant. Genuine people making great food. It's small and not fancy, but it's worth it.

I came here for lunch with my friend and fellow Yelper Megan S. on a sunny Thursday…read more Because of the great weather we dined on a table on their patio which is facing the street, but since they put up some large potted plants you don't feel exposed and it is not too noisy. I ordered the Luian with beef and was quite happy with my choice. The food was yummy.. It felt like a Tibetan pasta with bolognese sauce, so some of the flavors seems familiar while others were new and provided a new side to a familiar dish. I definitely enjoyed it. The portion was on the larger side and although I ended up eating more than initially expected ;), I was not able to finish it all, so I ended up taking the rest home (which was later devoured by my husband). (On a positive side note: I left full, but the food was not sitting heavy in my stomach at all which was definitely appreciated.) I have no complaints about the service which was friendly and quick enough.

This place has moved locations but after checking out the new one, the 5/5 still stands. Oddly enough, the momos have gotten even better. This place deserves all of the business it receives!!!! And then some! Old review: .........and I've basically just discovered my new favorite place to eat in Frankfurt. The menu is 7 items deep. No joke. Each item has variations of itself, but there are really only 7. I absolutely love this as it allows them to deliver each flawlessly and not just as a mediocre version of the dish. I ordered three items: momos (beef), mo-thuk (wild garlic with meat), and sha pale (minced beef). Each one was delicious as the next. The outside of the place may deter you from heading inside. Don't let it. :) It may appear to be a kiosk and you may have to squint to read the sign- but the restaurant does exist and is clean and inviting on the inside. The restaurant is small. Only really five tables or so. They also do not take reservations. After seeing high reviews on Yelp for Lhamo, I was worried we may not get a table there despite what day we headed there (I don't care for waiting in line as I am an impatient American). Therefore, we went on a Tuesday and were to chance our luck. When we arrived at around 6pm, there was more or less no one inside except us, and the minimal staff. By the time we left, it was filled to capacity. Go early! While the food was incredible, my favorite thing about Lhamo was the price point. We had two large Beck's and the three dishes mentioned above and our bill was 26 Euros. We ordered way too much and would have been fine with just two of the dishes for sure. Highly, highly recommended if looking for a good meal and welcoming atmosphere in Frankfurt!

This is another "Asian restaurant," the likes of which can be found all over Germany. They are not…read moreso much restaurants as they are take-out places that often offer seating as well, occasionally with table service. For the most part, the focus is on fast and inexpensive Asian fare - and the term "Asian" can mean a whole lot in Germany. Where I am from, there's quite the distinction between Tibetan, Vietnamese, and Thai food - never mind the many other Asian cuisines. In Germany, it's all "Asian" - so be aware. This particular place is rather hidden and I simply stumbled upon it because there was a burger and beer place that initially attracted me. I sat outside and it was perfectly pleasant albeit not exactly scenic. The wait staff consisted of one young boy and after I listed to him at the neighboring table, I asked him what was easier for him, English or German (I speak both fluently). He opted for English - and I'm only saying this because sometimes non-German speakers can be intimidated when they think that German is the only way to go... Just ask, you never know. Oh, and he was also exceptionally friendly. Shy, too. Food came out quickly and was nicely put together, both in presentation and taste. You should be aware that culinary preferences are almost nowhere as universally pronounced as they are with "Asian" fare - there's a definitive difference between say, Thai food in Thailand, the US, Germany, or Argentina. With that in mind, understand that your "Asian" food will never taste like it does back home. To me, it's fine - I know it caters to the German palate but I find that it does so in acceptable parameters. Go knock yourself out and support this little restaurant.

The décor nice, casual enough for the price. We are on the patio because of the weather and Covid but inside looks really great also. The service was absolutely shocking. Bad, slow, rude so in reality I think management needs to pay attention but the cook's and all area's in the kitchen deserve 2 thumbs up. Will I go back? Maybe. Frankfurt has fabulous restaurants. Service is definitely very important to me. Make a reservation. Even in Covid the restaurant was packed and people were turned away.

I called to make sure they had table since we travelled with young children, but they were fully booked for the night. The person answered the phone sounded very nice over the phone so I decided to make reservation online for the next day, and I was glad I did. Overall, it was an excellent dining experience. The ambiance was fancy, definitely fit for a celebration/anniversary. I felt like we over ordered since we wanted to try many dishes here, but we didn't regret it. All the dishes were delicious. Service was okay. It could be better since it's pretty pricey here. Honestly, we were aware the dining service in Germany is different compared to the US so we didn't expect a top notch service. I would come back if I ever visited Frankfurt again.

Let me say this, I am from a major city in the states. I live in Washington, D.C. Therefore, I eat sushi.... And I mean I eat a lot of it. In fact, I eat a lot of sushi from very authentic and highly skilled restaurants. This restaurant was neither of any form of decent quality nor authentic. I mean for 12 euros per a person I can't complain too much. However, I was just completely floored at their poor service and poor food quality. I also found hair in their food and when I told the staff they were so rude towards me. This place is not worth your time!!! It's a big no no. I can't believe they have customers. I am thinking because the sushi presence in this city is so poor, they are able to stay afloat.

My group did not want to add the hotpot option because it would be too much food. The my had fresh shrimp and pork dumplings and miso soup which I loved. However, for this price point you can't complain since it is in a busy center.
