POSSIBLE SCAM ALERT - this feels less like a counseling center, and more like a straight up scam…read more There are so many ways this went wrong. Let me count the ways. - On intake, they were very fast to take my credit card information, told me if insurance didn't cover things adequately, they would absolutely have my back and work out a sliding scale rate. This feels like a flat out lie -- insurance only covered TWO sessions, and I was personally on the hook for hundreds hundreds of dollars. And their only offer was a discount on future sessions? F that! AVOID THIS COMPANY! - I begged on my knees to see if we could work something out .. the CEO sent me a nasty letter with threats. Scary stuff to be honest. Holy smokes!!! - Their CEO .. check out his Linked In profile .. to me this seems like someone that has no business running a counseling center -- with a history of money lending centers -- no wonder he gives off the 'loan shark' vibe ... half expecting some goons to break my kneecaps now LOL (Dear Honorable Judge or Jury reading this in a potential lawsuit: that was hyperbole.) - Never had a therapist suggest we end early .. aren't they supposed to challenge you and get you to face conflict? And she still charged me for the full 50 minutes even tho they offer 30 min sessions. - Worst of all, after paperwork was done, the insurance company sent THEM the reimbursement that was supposed to go to me (since I was the one that paid 100% out of pocket) -- they CASHED THE CHECKS (see edit below) and now Cigna isn't able to get them on the phone, not returning their calls ...ugh I got f*&^&*^d by this company. For your own sake, AVOID AVOID AVOID. Edit 4/25/21: Well this sucks. I think they owe me money, and they think I owe them money. They are attempting to send me certified mail (??), this has turned into a VERY STRESSFUL situation and I wish I never heard of them. One update based on new information, they say they did not cash the checks -- FWIW it was Cigna (my insurance) who did tell me they had cashed the checks so I will give GCC the benefit of the doubt on that one I guess. (Since telling the truth is important to me, a trait not shared by others...). Cigna did eventually send the new check to the right place (me) but its only a small portion of what I paid to Get Centered -- and I absolutely still feel like the counselor straight up lied about being able to work something if insurance didn't come through!
