I needed drapes for several rooms in a new house with a significantly bigger budget and I came out with what I can only say was a steal. The ladies that work there were very attentive and helpful. When you first step into the place, they immediately make you feel like a valued customer by greeting you and asking you if they can help you find anything. (This is rare in Harwin Area stores generally speaking.) The ladies didn't mind searching for specific colors for me and even radioed for additional stock from the warehouse just to complete my collection/set. Parking area is small but there have always been a spot every time I've been. When I had my toddler shopping with me, everybody was nice to him and he was even offered a sucker. My mother has been going Lee's for custom framing for over 20 years now. He is very fast and if you need something the next day it can be done! I discovered the place through my friend, Greg Buchold. I had been admiring a Mardi Gras mask and wreath that he had put on his door and he told me about the place. I went looking for Mardi Gras stuff but was blown away by the extensive collection of cookbooks and design books that they sell, all discounted from retail list prices. But there was much much more. I mean it from cowboys and indians, to religion and steampunk. This store has it. I spent around 175. Not cause the prices are high. It has that much quality, collectable stuff. The only downside is I had to promise the wife I will only go once a month. But I am glad she did this cause we only have a three bedroom house, and I don't need to take every check I make and spend it there. And there is the classic debate of want vs. need. The attendant reduced it to $600 and with further haggling reduced it to $500. The attendant explained that the rug was handmade and that I was getting a great deal which I felt I was. After I left with the rug I researched it online and found the exact same rug for $405 total, with no tax and shipping fee. Also it was not handmade. We had agreed on a 24 hr return/approval period so I brought the rug back the next day and cancelled my credit card transaction. I explained that what he had told me was false (handmade, worth $3000+, etc) but he denied it. Not only did it waste time out of my day but the whole experience caused undue stress and I've lost complete trust of the store. If you do find an item in the store that seems too good to be true research it online and get a comparison before making the purchase. It's not surprising that this store is "closing soon."
