Terrible glaziers! Avoid at all costs. They came to me to fit 3 windows all were incorrect thickness which they tried to hide it by use of black silicone which ruined my upvc window units. read more

JRC Roofing Maintenance and Construction

Invoiced £1075 by James Combe the sole trader of JRC ROOFING AND MAINTENANCE for incomplete work…read more James Combe the business owner then insisted he could not return to finish the work without further payment and produced invoices he requested I send to claim for the costs from my home and building insurance. We then sought a second opinion from Scotdrain who fixed the problem on their first visit in 45 minutes for £175.00 inclusive of VAT. Would not recommend to anyone to allow this company to even provide a quotation as they will use pressure selling tactics and false promises to secure work they are not capable of doing.

INSUREPAIR

Their survey was quick but detailed, and they actually discovered that some of the work we'd been told was needed wasn't necessary at all! The team carried out the repairs promptly and to a really high standard -- we're absolutely delighted with the results. Communication was excellent throughout, and the whole process was stress-free. I'd definitely recommend Insurepair to anyone needing reliable, quality home repairs.

They were extremely helpful from start to finish. At one point just before the claim was accepted, the insurers decided to go down the 'cash settlement road', which pretty much meant that they were washing their hands off me, which I was not going to stand for. Richard at Property Repair contacted the Loss Adjuster to explain my plight and shortly afterwards rang me to say all would proceed as planned. His Tradesmen all arrived in company liveried vans and wore company uniforms, they were polite and not once did I hear profanity from any of the builders, even if I did use some myself. Very Happy with Property Repair, very happy indeed! J x
Revere Contracts

In May 2021 I made the huge mistake of taking on Iain Martin and Revere Scotland Contracts Ltd…read more(SC627808) to work on my home and in December that year I had to terminate his contract. Since then, I've found out he had already gone insolvent in June 2020 and had been expelled from the Federation of Master Builders (FMB). I would strongly recommend anyone thinking of using Iain Martin to look at a Facebook page called 'Edinburgh C0wboy Builders' and search for him and his business - it's a long list of victims. My project was to knock two rooms into one and add patio doors, along with some other internal works. My problems started when Iain Martin invoiced me for materials such as steelwork, patio doors, doors, windows, heating and electrical supplies. Nothing unusual and all within the quote, so I paid. But as the work stalled and deadlines were missed, he blamed the suppliers or Covid and found any excuse to divert attention. It all sounded so feasible. My suspicions grew, so I called some of his suppliers and found that orders had never been placed or suppliers were not doing business with Iain Martin because they hadn't been paid for earlier work. Iain and his 'Account Manager' do not have the slightest grasp of decent project management, effective (or polite) communication, client service or managing peoples money honestly I cannot emphasis enough that he should be avoided and I would recommend everyone reads the various links online. As I hear from other victims, it is clear this is not an isolated case and is a very common way he operates. Despite long negotiations and discussions over the past year, including Court Action, he has not repaid what is owed and I remain significantly out of pocket - as do many of his other victims.

Used Edinburgh Glass and Glazing in Jan 11 to replace 9 windows with tilt and turn double glazed…read morewindows. I chose them because: 1) they are part of Network Veka and the guarantees and quality control offered by this appealed to me. 2) their tilt and turn windows can be locked 3 different ways including a setting so that they can only tilt but not turn we have young children so safety was paramount and not all windows have this feature. To be able to set them back to be able to turn (open like a door), you need the key. 3) they are an established local firm who do a lot of high profile commercial work as well as domestic work 4) their price was competitive. I liked the fact that it was the fitter, and not a salesman, who came out to measure up and discuss options. We are very happy with the windows themselves and the fitter was very professional, did a very neat job and was careful to clear up after himself. There was much less mess and disruption than I'd expected. We did have an issue around the size and placing of the windows. We had requested a space at the top to allow us to use our existing blinds and not have to purchase new ones. However, the company accepted responsibility for their error and quickly resolved it to our satisfaction. Therefore I have full confidence in recommending them.

From the moment I accepted their excellent quote, everything went quickly and smoothly. The fitting team arrived as scheduled and worked steadily all day to complete the task. The rooms and windows were cleaned thoroughly after fitting and all debris removed. The confidence that the firm has in its products is underlined by a written 10-year guarantee for the windows and installation. I have no hesitation in recommending Edinburgh Glass Glazing to my relatives and friends.
