I didn't know what to expect on my first visit here, Blueprint is certainly a community church and many people I know have heard of it and have even visited before. So I was anxious to see what they had in store. LOCATION: They used to be located off Highland right next to Highland Bakery, but they moved into this new location, just down the street, off Boulevard. Now they're right in the heart of the OFW (Old Fourth Ward) This was the location I went to on my recent visit. (etc. highlands and ofw neighborhoods are essentially one in the same in regards to location as they are right next to each other). I believe they're still undergoing renovations since they literally just moved into the building. FIRST IMPRESSION: Everyone was nice. I was literally greeted at each door, and even had a long conversation with one of the parking guys. The atmosphere here is very open and positive. There's this relaxed cool hipster type vibe here with a Christian/Spiritual twist. MUSIC: Great praise team, it was easy to catch on to the songs and you actually want to because they're really good. CONGREGATION/PEOPLE: First impression was neat, after walking in the door I was greeted by another set of ushers one really cool bearded vintage-wearing southern hipster white guy -and- a really pretty model-esque looking black gal, both smiling and saying hey. Even in the rest room, the members I encountered when at the mirror were sweet. As described above this is a diverse congregation-- black, white, asian, other. There were lots of families, especially young families (folks in their 30s with new babies), as well as alot of singles. So I can definitely say they were equally diverse in the families vs singles category from what I could see. The church is also come as you are, so you can put a tie on or high heels -or- wear jeans, sweater and nice sneakers. SERVICE/SERMON: There was alot of music, and of course the standard offering/visitors/scripture reading/announcements. The Sunday I visited there was a Guest Pastor/Speaker, who I believe is a member. He was very animated with his analogies (maybe 1 too many 'hood' references, lol), but made some good points and gave a solid message. I can be uptight at time (its the southern priss in me, lol), so I was trying to be more mentally relaxed and casual so that I could better receive his 'street' style of preaching. :-) I will be returning again to hear the pastor speak and will update the review accordingly. I think service lasted an hour and a half. In by 10:30, out by 12. SUMMARY: Good vibes, Good people is a easy way to sum of the feeling. I didn't know what to expect, I think I actually thought I wouldn't like it so I was delightfully surprised at the warmth. 3.5/5

I'm proud to be a part of this beautiful, vibrant congregation. Pastor Michael Piazza's leadership, his passion for justice, equality, and the progressive Christian movement continually inspires me to be a better Christian, neighbor, and citizen. The sanctuary is gorgeous with an enormous organ that is played beautifully. The new pastor, Rev. Kate Floyd, is a gifted preacher and is passionate about social justice and building a faith community where ALL are welcome. I've definitely found a church home in Atlanta!
