According to their motto, Impact is a "multi-cultural gathering of people committed to sharing the…read morelove of Christ with the world." Their tagline is : "Doing Church Differently" . After about five years of attendance here, I can attest that both these things are true. This is an awesome, awesome Christ-filled church unlike any other church you've attended (and that's coming from someone who's attended A LOT). Impact has only been in existence for eight years. When we first starting attending, service was held in the auditorium of a middle school (Brown middle). From the first time we stepped into the auditiorum, something about Impact struck me--it felt like HOME. Being a PK (preacher's kid), I was raised in church and had become a bit disillusioned by it after some bad experiences. But, since I knew that the problem revolved around the CHURCH and not in GOD, I knew I just needed to begin a journey to find the right church home for me. Once I moved to Atlanta, that's exactly what I did. I must've visited dozens of churches on my quest; some I liked, others I didn't, but none seemed to really grab me. I also had some stiff non-negotiables that I refused to compromise on. 1)The church needed to be diverse racially, and in sex, age and sexual orientation. 2) the praise and worship team needed to be the BOMB 3) the preaching had to be more like teaching than just screaming and "falling out in the spirit". 4) there needed to be ample opportunities to volunteer in and give back to community. Most churches I visited had SOME of these qualities but not one had ALL. ONLY Impact surpassed all my expectations and gave me even more than I asked for. I felt love and warmth the moment I stepped foot into the sanctuary. Then I heard the singing and the preaching and I was in love. At first the church felt like our little secret (which a church definitely is not supposed to be) but then it got bigger, and bigger and bigger. I remember when they announced that the church had become so popular that they had to add two extra services every sunday. Then last year they finally finished their new sanctuary which is so beautiful and modern, including a juice bar/coffee stand, awesome kids play/learn area and so much more. All Impact's success is a testament to the fact that God has truly blessed them. For a church to have only been around eight years yet they house thousands per service and are settled into their own beautiful building, built from the ground-up ...and are debt-free, that's unheard of!! It takes some churches twenty years to do that and then they end up paying it off for years. I am constantly blown away by Impact's vision and drive. Pastor Olu is a young, dynamic preacher who TEACHES rather than just shouts at the congregation. Again, as someone who grew up in church my whole life, I learn something new every Sunday and my wife who didn't grow up in church also learns so much and never gets lost due to christian jargon etc. The praise and worship team is INSANE. Impact does not have a choir but I guarantee if you just stood outside in the parking lot on a Sunday morning and listened to the praise team, you would not believe me. There are usually no more than 5-7 people on stage at a time yet they sound better than some full choirs I've heard in my life. Not only that but the style of singing and the team members themselves rotate constantly so you never get bored. The church is very diverse which is important to me. When I walk into a church I like to see that it appeals to ALL people . Black, white, asian, latino, gay, straight old, young and in-between. As a gay woman who attends with my wife, I feel very comfortable there and we've never gotten a dirty look or stare. Impact is always giving to the community. They provide a small scholarship for college students, they canvass the community, they build house via habitat for humanity and the list goes on. I'll stop here because I could go on and on about how much I love this church. The only other thing I'll say is, come experience it for yourself!

Full of cliques and disorder. If you are not a regular attendee, do not expect any prayer from the…read moresenior pastor. While listening to the sermon, males will bang on the metal poles and shout out to where your hearing and attention will break. This happened to me with my relatives as we listened to the senior pastor or others speak. You won't be taught how to be like Christ. False prophecy was given to me here which involved me working with two other regular loyals. The love nor the power of God are here! I remember a pregnant worship leader getting upset because the small group there was not singing with feeling to her liking. The same confessed to some regulars still use pornography, maybe that was the same day. I dismissed red flags such as Alexis saying, "how can Jesus only be your Lord and Savior," and "we feed people unlike that church (saint philips ame on the corner) that doesn't do anything for anyone." (Verbage based on my memory.) My attendance was about 6 months and I went here for my ailing relative, whose illness was ignored by the pastors to deliver! Who else can give salvation and the blessings associated with it? To those seeking deliverance and the power of God, seek Christ Who is the unchanging Word of God (john 1:1) plus there are both books of living and deceased individuals who raised the dead like Smith Wigglesworth and John G. Lake and Curry Blake; you can learn from them as well Christ and His disciples. I advise and forewarn that you must be diligent and CONSISTENT. May God's vengeance and judgement be released on the false prophets and ministers that deceive spiritually-challenged folks. Read Hosea 4 and Ezekiel 33-36. I KNOW THAT THE 5-STAR REVIEWS ARE A RESPONSE TO THE TRUTHFUL NEGATIVE REVIEWS FROM ONLY ONE GROUP THAT IS OFTEN EXPLOITED IN THE "CHURCH." WHY NOT THOSE OF THE CLASS THAT MATTERS IN THE USA LEAVE REVIEWS, INCLUDING THE PASTORS? STOP MULING FOR THEM. YOU CANNOT HIDE THE TRUTH AND EVERYONE IS NOT ASLEEP! THIS IS A PHARISEE ASSEMBLY! CHRIST SPOKE MUCH ABOUT THE RELIGIOUS GROUPS THAT DID NOT KNOW OR RECEIVE GOD BUT DID CARNAL SHOWMANSHIP AND RESISTED GOD AND MADE THEMSELVES IMPORTANT. Christ never required an attendance requirement before he helped heal or restore someone: HOWEVER, "pastor" haynes believes one's attendance, lifestyle and offerings matter MOST before he'll intercede. That is dangerous but Glory to God, the punishment of such wolves and on their children is beyond painful. You didn't hurt us more than you hurt yourself.

Greetings to the reader, this will be an updated review since I have shared a review discussing…read moredisappointment in the past from this same ministry. I don't recommend attending this church in Atlanta and suggest other churches who in the area that respect personal boundaries, keep their word and actually want to help those in need like jesus said to. This recent review will discuss how Pastor alexis hayes never respected me or my mother who attended his church despite being members who donated in the past. In my old review I discussed how invasive the members were to me from touching me and not respecting personal space (I have experienced more than once being touched where I felt uncomfortable and one of the female members stroked my chin randomly) to pastor hayes' father knocking my scarf from my head from one of my last visits at the church and never apologized. Hayes daughter also was upset that I left this review on the church's Facebook page and was temporarily blocked until I made a review on Google warning others what happened. The reason for this new review is that this year my mother, who began experiencing health issues and was requesting prayer and help with her car was never given a call back. I uploaded a screenshot of my email trying to contact PHD Ministries via email since Hayes claimed in a phone call my mother never called him for her health but mostly prayers for me and my siblings. When my mother became hospitalized on August 1-2 I and my sister began asking for prayers to help our family on our cellphones we share with our mother. I only called/texted since I didn't know who else to call and I remember his daughter claims they prayed over her daughter after she was in a accident. He never contacted until I expressed frustration he didn't keep promises on helping members or people who sought out deliverance. He lied on the phone that I didn't have money to get help installing my security cameras and that my mother never called for. Hayes never mentioned I needed money but to show him my cameras and he'd call me back. He also stated in messages that my mother didn't show up for church often as if that matters when she contacted him for help and prayer when she didn't know who to turn to. You don't reject help because some members don't attend regularly. I immensely hate that my mother and I once supported this church when the red flags were there from the beginning how he lied on helping me when I wanted assistance installing cameras to my mother's home. He claimed I never owned a DVR but if he remembered I shown him my cameras with the DVR in the box. Please don't attend this church unless you're okay with what I have shared.
