As you arrive here, it seems to be in what I would consider not one of the nicest neighborhoods. Not in a safety sense, but in general. That is, it is not ultra-center town, so you don't walk out right into the piazza or market. As such, looks are quite deceiving. Once you walk in, you find an absolutely beautiful hotel. The common areas are stunning, and the rooms are updated classic... very nice, with excellent touches. The service of the hotel staff is excellent. All extremely friendly and helpful. I certainly will stay here again next time I am in town. read more

I just arrived at the hotel tonight after a long day of travel and couldn't be more grateful for Antonio's 5-star service. He helped me with my luggage, found me a room on a higher room for a better view, and promptly replied when I called down for room service (and followed-through with a delicious margherita pizza for 4,50 euro in 30 minutes!) Hotel is charming with a beautiful "winter garden" room where breakfast is served. read more

Not as fabulous as the nearby Hotel Royal but still an overall good hotel. Nice stencil decor and tiffany style chandeliers and lamps in every room give it an air of taste and sophistication. The rooms also come with large television and Sky tv. Bathrooms are tastefully decorated with free fluffy white slippers and nice little extras. Unless you're travelling to the hotel by taxi, it can be a little awkward to find as it's in rather a dodgy, run down area but it is only a five minute walk up hill from the Via Etnea bus stop. Breakfast was mediocre really, a small selection of yoghurts and fresh fruit. Very stale rolls and small plate of ham and cheese were there. A waitress later brought out a few croissants. Overall it was an enjoyable stay, but with no natural light in the room and being very weary about the neighbourhood, we wouldn't opt to stay here again. Not when there are other better hotels nearby. read more

This hotel is NOT what it looks like online!!! The website makes the hotel look like a cute boutique hotel in a great location in Catania. The truth is it's a dirty, rundown hotel in a really shady area. Upon arrival I knew something was off. Once inside we asked to see the rooms before checking into the hotel. The rooms were murky and did not match the photos on the website. The staff was nice when we first arrived, but when they realized we were not staying they became very rude. The hotel is a scam and the reviews on tripadvisor are fake. Do NOT stay at this hotel! read more

We stayed at Liberty Hotel for three nights and could not have been happier with experience. With only eighteen rooms hotel is rather small which is what we wanted in a small town like Catania. It is located on a quiet and not at all fancy street five minutes away from the main tourist area. Property is not very posh, but tastefully beautiful inside. Impressive lobby, nice common resting and breakfast areas downstairs. Rooms are on a smaller side as expected in most hotels in Old Europe, but everything worked and bathroom looked recently remodeled. Breakfast buffet has been delightfully arranged and every item was fresh and very tasty. Do not expect Vegas-style dining with endless options. Selection was limited, but every item was really good. More than enough food to survive till lunch if not all the way to dinner which in Catania starts around 7 PM. If you have a rental car to park, there is parking garage on the other side of the street, cost not included, but it is not overly expensive. Our best experience was with staff. All of it, but especially Mr. Antonio who tends front desk in late afternoons and evenings. If not for his advice on dining options, excursions and pretty much any other topic related to staying in Sicily, our vacation would not have been nearly as pleasant. Every single time he went out of his way to make all the necessary calls, sometimes multiple times, arrange everything, and make sure that we were taken care of. Easily most helpful and personable fellow we have encountered in all of our hotel experiences. read more

We stayed in this hotel as part of a Rick Steve's tour. It was very clean, all the rooms were unique, there were mosaics in the bathrooms and the breakfast was great. Only reason I gave them 4 stars is because the location isn't the best. It's safe though. Staff was professional and helpful. read more
