I am a licenced contractor in WI and I Have a 90 year old customer that had a tree go through their roof and the adjuster at liberty has refused to even send an adjuster or look at my photos. In 10 years of doing restoration ans traveling and working hurricanes ive never seen such unprofessionalism in insurance and on top of it complete arrogance and disregard for a 90 year old customer smh. liberty mutual corporation... i have a clean driving record and i drive careful for 38 years, no claims and this insurance company have increased my policy $380.00 @ year. just because (she said the cost of health care have increased so liberty mutual has to increase my policy !! i never agreed to be increased i need a good valid explanation to increased my policy.... i never got a valid reason.. what a joke !! read more

The person who answered the phone (Natalie) was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. After telling her information about my claim, she started to read details about when the rental was taken back. When she stopped talking I told her the rental was taken back on the 10th of June not the 13th of June. She proceeded to say "whatever you say" when it was brought up that what she said was not okay, she then said "I'm not going to get into this with you" that is when I told her "I will be calling the 1-800 number to talk to someone else." There it goes up again! We don't drive 7,000 miles a year, haven't caused an accident and received a traffic ticket in only God knows when, have On Star for added safety and for 2016-17 SURPRISE!!! A 23% increase and I'm lied to telling me every Liberty Mutual auto policy received this same increase! So much for honesty, the excuse, higher medical costs in Wisconsin. Well over 50 years with Liberty Mutual. Finally, I put in a claim for an 'ice dam' damage, and find out I'm NOT covered. Don't waste your time trying to contact them, "Your wait time will exceed 20 minutes." The contractor tried three times to contact them, and responded to me that there seemed to be no one that had any comprehension of what to do to handle the claim. I then forwarded the needed information to an address given to me. After waiting over a month, I called and now I know what the contractor meant. The person I tried to talk to simply said "You are NOT covered for ice dam damage." Period! My next move is to change companies and not re-insure my two homes and five vehicles with them. I have been advised to watch out if cancelling though, as there will be excessive charges to do so. So, I guess my best move will be to line up another company to take over when my present policies expire. No cancellations, just wait to let them expire. Wish me luck. By the way, this posting shows me to be from Surprise, AZ. That is my winter home but the problem I'm having is with my Waukesha, WI home. I hate this insurance company. Way too expensive and when you cancel they charge you a cancellation fee. I had them for 9 years and every single renewal my prices were raised and i NEVER had an incident. read more

Similar to others we had a great experience initially with lower rates. However, after 27+ years of marriage with no (zero!) claims to insurance of any kind we had 2 incidents in one year. One incident my husband backed out of our own garage and (ouch!) hit my son's car that was parked at the end of the driveway. Just plumb forgot it was there. Liberty paid about $2500 and we used our "accident forgiveness." Then 6 months later my son was going out of a gas station around a tight curve with a big decorative rock & a tree (hard to see) and someone was coming in in the middle of the driveway. They collided. Because my son was exiting, he was automatically "at fault." I'm sure they both had a part in it, but it cost about $6000 in repairs between the vehicles. I've been waiting for the increase to our rates but it didn't happen. Instead we just got a notice that Liberty is not renewing our coverage! I guess you are forgiven on the 1st accident, but they don't FORGET! Have a second fender bender and you're out! Very disappointing. We've never had anything like this happen and would not recommend Liberty as a result. read more
