I was told to talk to a plumber and a mitigation specialist. After I did this, I filed a claim. Once the claim was filed, I was notified that I needed to send photos, provide a plumber report and get a water mitigation company in (they gave me the name of one I should use). I did everything they requested, now they have denied my claim. I have been billed over $900 for the water mitigation service they made me get before they would even look at my situation. No one from Statefarm has entered my home or tried to assess the situation other than some photos I sent and their interpretation from the plumber. I don't know how this is legal, but it shouldn't be. If you have this company, I strongly suggest changing.
