They refuse to take a notice of cancellation now so I will be forced to remember to cancel in 2 year's time when the contact ends since they have AUTOMATIC month to month renewal after that period. In my opinion this company is extremely shady & preys on the elderly. Absolutely disgusting. Would not recommend them to anyone. read more

I wish I could give them zero stars. Worst home security provider I've ever dealt with - besides the inadequate equipment, issues with the doorbell camera and evrything in between... I paid for my contract because i had to (after I moved) and when I was able to cancel it, I cancelled my contract on time, received confirmation IN WRITING that it was cancelled and they charged me the following month - June 15th. I called to have it refunded June 16th and they said they couldn't put the ticket in until the next day. I called back the ticket wasnt created and they did in that moment And said it would be 2-3 days to process, 2 weeks later and I haven't been refunded. An absolute nightmare to deal with. From the start they have had tech issues pulling the funds monthly. Each month I get a call saying they can't pull the funds and each month I say "is it the tech issues" which they then say "oh yes but have have resolved this and now need to confirm we can pull the funds". Every month it is an absolute nightmare. Dealing with the call centre rep, Kaljeet Kaur, is an additional headache that I don't need from this company. From saying one thing to back tracking and saying another she has no idea what she is doing as well as is very rude. Highly suggest customer training and fixing your tech issues before having it become the clients issue. At this point we are ready to cancel our service and go to someone else. read more

Trying to cancel this service and they say you are locked into a contract that I can't get out of. They also say that they will take me to collections if I do not just keep using this unreliable security system for the full balance. Nobody explained this about my contract that I was basically handcuffed to them. We have had problems from the beginning and it has never been installed correctly or set up correctly. If something seems too good to be true it usual is. At the start all was good, signed an agreement with the Rep to have Liberty Come and install. The Rep said it was 36 months, i had told him that i already turned down another company as they wanted 60 months. When Tech guy came he installed the equipment, I did not realize id signed a 60 month contract on there electronic Tablet. You don't get to see the fill document on a small tablet when signing electronically. Over past couple of years we have had various issues, Dog Friendly motion detector that picks the dog up constantly (now turned off completely), Smoke Alarm failing when your asleep, The door bell camera not working and a waste of money when it does, delays in picking up motion so you miss packages being taken from your door step, Not being able to open the camera from 3 different devices. Be Very Aware, if your equipment fails after 12 month, you will have to fight to get them to help. Also do not listen to the Rep when he rights down the cost of the equipment that you are getting, you can buy all of it for a lot less than they charge. I have sent an email to Liberty Explaining my Problems and to see if we can come up with a way to end my contract and have had no reply. I contacted customer support who informed me to cancel my contract i would have to pay $3480 to end it. If only i could go back and read the small print I have been in contact with Brandon, who is as useless as the customer service reps he manages, did not have a clue about my account or the equipment I have, but don't worry he knew how much it would be to terminate. If there's any problems with equipment they will instantly blame your WIFI. If you get anything from my experience, DO NOT SIGN FOR 5 YRS with Liberty, they will suck you dry of every penny, even when there sub par service doesn't deserve it. read more

Speaking with the sales rep, you get a bunch of empty promises, and woo'd with an awesome system. When it came time to do the installation, my date and time kept changing on me, but the rep assured me that the time I was promised would happen. The day of the installation, the technician says they'll be 2 hours late which exceeded the time frame available. So we were forced to reschedule for the next day. That day comes, and the technician just doesn't show up. Nobody calls. I reach out to my rep, and he advises that they'll be late, yet again. When the technician finally comes that evening, he's in such a rush that he leaves a terrible mess of drywall dust everywhere. I had flood sensors with a water main shut off valve in my package, and the incompetent technician installed it on my hot water tank instead. Furthermore, the valve is showing as malfunctioned on my panel since day one. We pointed this out to the tech, and he said it was normal. I reached out to my rep again, and he said this is not normal, and another tech would call me that day to schedule a time to repair. Nobody called. He advised that he put in an urgent call to have it resolved, and yet nobody has called. If this is the level of service you can expect from Liberty on an ongoing basis, I fear for when there's an actual emergency. read more

Moving from a condo into a house forces the owners to consider more things like security, garbage removal, water, recycling, yardwork, etc. Of course it comes with perks as well. I didn't feel we needed a security system but we all know the saying: "Happy wife, happy life." Getting the service was quite seamless and we upgraded to additional features that we can control from the app: doorbell camera, deadbolt control, garage door control. We signed my mum up with this company for a medical alert necklace. It was a three year contract which is fine as she wasn't getting any younger but I was told if god forbid anything was to happen this contract would end. Well god forbid the worst did happen I lost my mum on May 4th with a two month battle with cancer. My mum was in the hospice and my dad wanted me to cancel the contract so he wouldn't have to worry about it while I was gone ( I live in another province). I called the company to explain the situation and I was told oh well I am so sorry but you have 20 months left on your contract but let me see if we can give you a discount. For three days while I was at my mum's bedside they kept calling to tell me they could give us a discount of $300 but we are liable for the rest which is over $500. My mum's bank account is closed so they are not getting payment and are harassing me for payment and her death certificate. They are now threatening to send me to collections as my name was on the contract which they make another person be on it and now I see why- So if someone dies they still get there money!! I am morning my mum and all they want is money. So many other companies but read the fine print we signed up with Turnip and this is what we got. We were / are particularly happy with our sales rep Adam W and our installer Ben H. We received competitive quotes from other firms, Txxxxx and Txxxx. Txxxxx, attended and provided us a detailed quote. Txxxx was uninterested in attending our residence at all and insisted we just discuss our needs on the phone and make a commitment with no customer service or personal home assessment involved. Once we evaluated the proposals, the Liberty Security proposal was in our estimation was superior. In a competitive market, customers make decisions for many different reasons based on information provided to them. The Liberty approach included the most reasonable upfront & monitoring costs (not the cheapest). This combined with the experienced sales proposal and then followed up with a excellent installer and installation process. I've been a Liberty customer now for 6 years and these are some of the changes I've undergone with them: -System transfer from business to residence -2 Alarm trips -Surveillance system install -Doorbell Camera upgrade -Automation upgrade -Billing change (changed banks) -Trouble shooting call I'm happy to report that overall my experience has been exceptional. We were not happy with the system. We had multiple alarms go off with no response. We called and canceled it and they continued to pull payments. When I called to see why they were still pulling payments they told I could not cancel as I was under contract. They have since tried to force me to have a tech come out and are still trying to take payments. I do not trust this company and can not continue to use a company I have no trust for. read more

Useless. There is a 30 second delay on the camera, which they don't tell you about. When you call in to cancel the contract because that delay has gotten your stuff stolen. They don't care, it's "buyers remorse" and they refuse to cancel the contract. But if you want to see whatever your camera misses, you can spend the extra $200 on a continuously recording device. Now that i have problems on site with my whole system and spending hours on the phone plus my wife spending hours on the phone without getting any professional help just lines getting transferred so we can wait on the phone for more hours? why? BECAUSE YOU SOLD OUR CONTRACTS OVER TO BRINKS OUT IN HOUSTON AND CAN NO LONGER HELP US? BE CAREFUL WITH THESE GUYS AND READ THE OTHER 1STAR GOOGLE REVIEWS, I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE. PAYING $78/MONTH ON A 5YEAR CONTRACT FOR A SYSTEM THAT DOESN'T WORK. BRINKS WILL SEND A TECH THAT WILL CHARGE FOR A VISIT AND $120/HOUR! Ben my sales rep seemed very nice but whenever I have an issue with faulty products(not too often) or billing issues(continually) he just brushes me off and says he's going to look into it. They call me continually and tell me I'm in arrears and owe on my account however I see money coming out of my account to them. How can I trust a company that does this? Do not sign up with Liberty! I am very happy with this system!! The prices are great and they are a local company. I love being able to use everything on my smartphone. I have had no problems with this unit and their prices beat every other security system out there. I LOVE the Skybell doorbell motion sensor and camera. In Oct. Liberty removed our Alberta system as we were moving to BC, and had 2 years left on a 3 year contract. Nov. 20 a rep contacted the monitoring station to say he was installing in BC. Minutes later we received a call saying there was a breach on our Alberta Home; we and BC installer explained there was no system installed in Alta and he had same system, installing in BC. 30 minutes later Liberty called to say there was a medical emergency at our Alta. Home.... same explanation from installer and us. Twenty minutes later, the monitoring station called to say fire trucks had been dispatched to our Alta home; I demanded they cancel the call as there were two dogs there, no one home and no damned alarm system. Four firetrucks and a supervisor arrived, shocking the neighbour and my husband who had just arrived home. In Dec., one of the sensors fell off a door, and the monitor panel flashed a problem with the basement monitor; there is no basement. To date, Feb. 7, I have sent three emails and spoken to 5 people who assure us they will call back by day's end. A demand to speak to the manager twice netted no return call. One of the "customer service" women even said they could assist us ONLY when they figured out whose problem it was, theirs or the installer in Edmonton. The system will be removed tomorrow, auto payments with VISA cancelled as we have paid mightily for no service. AVOID this company read more

I have had Liberty for 5 years and I love it, great customer service, easy to use, simple and decently priced! Highly recommend.

Installation was booked and supposed to take 1 hour max. Tech showed up 2 hours late (10pm). Because he was late I had work booked (I work from home) and couldn't be there in the room while he installed things. When I came back to check on progress he had installed the control panel in the hallway in the opposite side of the house from the entrance. The tech told me that the control panel couldn't be installed on an exterior wall?! I had discussed placement of all equipment with the salesman and it was clear to me that the panel was to go by the front door (like every other security system I have ever seen). Then I was told that he would have to come back to finish installation because of 2 reasons. 1. He needed a ladder and a saw so he could go in my attic crawl space and cut a hole for the camera and 2. I had to book an electrician to fix the doorbell because he felt that the white wire was too short (did not know how to splice a wire). After he left I did not hear from anyone for several days. At this point I was not filled with confidence that this tech. I called the salesperson about cancelling the service and picking up the equipment that was left haphazardly about my house. He would not address the issue and kept trying to sell me more equipment and not listening to my concerns. In the end I had to remove the equipment myself and mail it to the company address in Edmonton. Once they receive the equipment the tried to charge the installation and everything to my bank account. I would not recommend this service to anyone under any circumstances. It seems their main concern is scoring a sale and then slapping their equipment in your house as quickly as they possibly can. The '$2000' of equipment can be bought on Amazon for $2-300 and you can install it yourself properly. read more

I decided to ask Liberty for a quote when I became unhappy with my previous alarm company. I called for an estimate and a great sales rep Ben Anderson came out the next morning. He did a very thorough search to see what type of alarm system I had and how it all hooked up. He then assured me that Liberty was able to work with the existing hardware with no problems. The next day their system was hooked up and their technician did a very good tutorial on the new feature I have with their alarm system. Not only do I have the same protection and for less than I was paying before, I also have had zero false alarms, and a whole lot more features! I can remotely turn on and off my alarm system and I get a text message alert every time someone arms or disarms the system. They even suggested I contact my insurance agent to see if I qualify for a discount, and I did so I'm saving even more money! I would definitely recommend Liberty Security for your home or business protection! read more

If you want to feel safe and secure in your home - knowing that if anything happens (eg. home invasion, mistakenly opening your garage without turning off security, excess water in your basement, etc.) that your security company will be in contact within seconds to make sure everything is okay, DO NOT CHOOSE THIS COMPANY. Why the insurance companies even accept this outfit when a customer lists them as the provider of the security system, is beyond me. They have no problem with debiting your account for their monthly "no service" fee, but do not expect anyone to call and see if everything is alright should the alarm go off - you are totally on your own. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has had a break in and dealt with an insurance company that had Liberty listed as the security provider. Their performance totally explains why they have you commit to a 5 year contract - without it they would have no clients within 6 months of installation. read more

Terrible service!! I would never recommend this company to anyone! They started out ok, however when we sold our house we stated that the alarm system would stay with the house if they new buyers wanted to take over the contract.. and if that was something they did not want to do then we would need to take the equipment with us. They agreed to keep the system until one hour before possession in which I had to rush around trying to set up and appt for removal of our equipment. This had to be done after we were moved out. When Liberty came to install the equipment in our new place they didn't have our equipment from the old house they were missing a few (larger and more expensive) pieces and so it took me 5 phone calls to sort everything out in which we finally came to an agreement..... unfortunately that was a month ago and nothing is actually resolved. So frustrated with all the run around this place gives you. Its a complete joke! read more

We were sold the system after being told our dog would not trip the alarm, we've had them call the cops on out dog a dozen times now. The fire alarm is the most obnoxious noise imaginable and then they expect you to be able to hear their tech through the speaker box to tell them it's a false alarm, when they can't hear you and you can't hear them over the blaring alarm. There is no way to shut off the alarm yourself. They market themselves and being good for families but I'm actually afraid to leave my kids alone with the system in the house because it would be impossible for even a mature pre- teen to be able to shut off a false alarm or communicate with a tech through the speaker box. Even though we were sold the system with false information we can't get out of the contact without paying out the remainder of the contact, paying even more money for a system that has never worked properly to begin with. This is the worst company I have ever worked with. read more

Never buy here! Rarely have I encountered such incompetence as with this company. I travel some and signed up with these guys in hopes of providing my family with some added peace of mind while I'm gone. The door-step sales pitch is persuasive and then the installer shows up....can't do this, can't do that and those options you wanted are a million dollars a month. The one time our alarm did go off in the last 18 months (by accident, by a family member) the monitoring company with whom Liberty is partnered called to alert us some 8 hours later. 8 hours!!! Try to cancel your contract and you'll get no help. Do yourself a favor: take the money you were going to spend on Liberty Security and go buy lotto tickets. read more
