However, I realized he made multiple mistakes that cost me thousands of dollars in my tax return. They were really dumb errors (copying the wrong number over; not including any insurance on my rental costs). The worst part is he wouldn't call or email me back when I was still really nice and asked him. I was actually going to fix the first issue myself but upon the closer look I found the other issue... Perhaps there's more). It would likely take him 10 minutes to fix but now I need to redo the entire return in TurboTax so everything is calculated correctly. The reason we go to a CPA is to do things accurately... He can't even get simple things done right. Don't trust him with your finances.

I was trying to find out WHICH office in Murfreesboro my Mother had an appointment at. This gentleman, knowing it was NOT a client for THEIR office, was kind enough to take the time to search their (I'm sure lengthly) data base of appointments scheduled for Saturday at noon, and was able to find Momma's appointment and gave me the address and phone number. In my opinion, in this era of low expectations, when dealing with many businesses, I was so very pleasantly surprised by this kind & helpful professional, who went above and beyond, for me. His name is David Schmidt (Yes, I was impressed enough to ask so I could do this compliment to him). I am not sure which Franklin Office he is located at, but I sure hope H & R Block reads these reviews, because as a Retired business Manager and former business owner and Non-Profit Executive Director, I want to say H & R Block is very fortunate to have an individual like Mr. Schmidt, who represents their company do well and with exceptional professional to their clients, even when it's not for his office. What a fantastic Front Line representative he is for the H & R Block company as as whole. I had to call her for the appointment she booked me for, then answered the phone and said "What's up?" as if I was annoying her. After tax season she disappears completely and they leave you to deal with the office manager Jeff Ammon who has no clue how to file taxes, went over the taxes with me and confirmed that I did owe (I found out later that I did not owe), and told me where I should send the money. He did this all based on incorrect information given by his tax preparer Susan Curtis. When I advised that my taxes were done incorrectly, I was told I would receive a refund for the taxes done incorrectly. I never received said refund from him and am now in the process of needing take further action. I do not recommend this location due to the location manager being equally as uninformed as the tax preparer.
