I caught myself staring at them during the intermission for The Nutcracker ballet show. the show is something else for me to review, so I will not do that her because this one is meant specifically for the location. as beautiful and grand that it was, I just disliked that the staff was not taking initiative to help with directions. you had to go up to them, and even with the directions that they provided, the reference points that they used were still unclear. I feel like the staff also could have done a better job of outlining how the show will go because they did not make clear of the intermission and how long it would be. they also did a horrible job with seating people because they moved so slow and got in the way of viewers who were watching the show. Not much social awareness from them :/ Location does a good job of running thru what they expect before you come on for your show so that you could logistically plan. lots of parking after 1800 or 6PM because no more law enforcement for street parking. also, the lights that just twinkle in front of the location make it such an awe to look at. I have not been here during daytime, but I bet you that it is better in the nighttime

I missed it so much. I heard TMP was casting for South Pacific so that was my intro to meeting Jon and Jeff. I played Bloody Mary in South Pacific, I was part of Wedding Singers ensemble plus I played Imelda Marcos, I played Madame Liang in the reboot version of Flower Drum Song. I also did shows with the Children's Theater at TMP. I played The Sour Kangaroo in Seussical, and Princess Lucille in Junie B Jones and a little monkey business. I did a couple shows outside of TmP, and also invited to audition on Broadway. But after a few deaths in my family I decided to take a hiatus from doing shows. I'm still on a long hiatus. Actually at my age I don't think I could keep up with the young ones. Like any theater it had some improvements needed. Which TMP has done over the years . I've tried to support when I could. It's not very close to where I live. It's about a 30 minute drive. After all these years I'm just now writing this review because I regret not auditioning or even performing at TMP. I always tell people life is too short don't wait. Well recently we lost Jon who was co-founder, director, and choreographer of TMP. He and his partner Jeff were a big part of the Tacoma area arts. I do hope his legacy lives on. RIPARADISE Jon!

I have driven by it enough times and some of their productions caught my eye more than once but what brought us here was for a production of Xanadu. Xanadu is a movie which stars Olivia Newton John and Fred Astaire makes an appearance in it as well. The movie was a real slog for me even though the movie is a cult classic and I love those types of movies... but "cult classic" is a very broad range and not all have the same appeal. The musical play is a spoof of the film and I knew it would have a brisker pace than the movie and I enjoyed it a lot! It was lots of fun and the songs sung served as a reminder of what's in the movie and had more of a positive earworm than a slog. The performers were great and they successfully cast a positive and feel good charm which was much needed. The Playhouse is also getting The Wedding Singer from the 80's inspired movie which I know would be a lot of fun and in this case I enjoyed the film much more!

They tend to repeat the games for first-time viewers, which is fine, but there are so much more funnier ones. I will not say how it could funnier just bc I do not want to spoil for anyone who has not seen this production, but that is on me for not saying something to the cast after the show. Really neat to see members rotate between characters to play. Maybe I will consider joining the cast, but meh. Also, prop bags tend to be missing some things and they still cost the same $5 price. Not too expensive, but with how many things that they miss at times... ehhhhh . I still be coming here because I just love this movie so much. I recently went to see a musical, Tom Sawyer, with some friends and was pleasantly surprised to see that this family theater had a "face lift". There is a seperate performing brand new building for this theater. Stadium seating with a space below that welcomes all children to have front row seating! Above the seating is where the band sits and they actually play live music for the shows! I remember coming to this community theater as a kid (now I am a adult) and they still put on a FABULOUS show! Summer months have even, in the past, offered shows outside! Another perk to this community gem, is the summer camp for kids teaching them about performing arts and of course a production for the community at the end! Great venue! Great shows! Live Music! Great price! Local community grown! Great props, stage, lighting! Great performers!!!

I attend 30-40 haunt each year, and did 10 in the Northwest this year and this was one of the best. There was also an escape room near by if you need thrills. Timed entry helped to reduce wait times. Some food vendors nearby but no real concessions. Hope they at least add t-shirts or stickers do I can show my haunt pride.

Since coming to The Dance Academy of Puyallup, my daughter's skills have improved dramatically (age…read more8 ). I greatly appreciate Shari's kind but firm leadership and the fact that she brings me in every step of the way. I'm enabled to be a partner in my daughter's dance journey, rather than just the wallet. Along with beautiful dance technique, my daughter is learning poise, manners, good sportsmanship, and how to carry herself as a serious athlete. I am thankful that both my daughter and I feel comfortable in talking with Shari and the other teachers about absolutely anything. We know our thoughts will be welcomed and addressed respectfully, without fear of consequence. The studio is always clean and is a welcoming environment to dancers, parents, and siblings. Most nights my daughter asks to stay long after her classes have ended because she feels so at home and has built strong friendships. In addition to the High Impact Team, we love the recitals and extra performance opportunities. It is only April and my daughter is already counting down to Victorian Country Christmas because she had so much fun dancing in the shows there. We are proud to be apart of The Dance Academy of Puyallup. It's a great home for any dancer!

The teachers here are like no other they are all incredibly supportive and caring, and they treat us like their own. Whether you do recreation or team you will have an amazing experience here. I am so lucky to be a part of such an amazing team and I couldn't be happier.

Last…read moretime I went (1yr ago) I told myself I'd never go back because the sound for the movie was so unbelievably deafening. At that time about 9 of us complained. Fast forward a year. Just saw The Odyssey (because they are already shoving it out after 2.5 weeks) and the sound was so loud I plugged my ears the entire movie. The 2 times I had to go pee during the 3hr movie, the bathroom lacked hand soap in every pump. So, $16 for a ticket, $10 for a small popcorn, and $8 for junior mints, for a movie where you have to plug your ears, and 50% of the reclining seats don't work? No thanks. I'll watch at home from now on.
