It's a venue for small to medium sized special events. It's across the street from the art museum so it's easy to amble over and check out. When I stopped by they were renovating, it's over 110 years old so this sort of thing must happen every now and then. Well worth the voluntary donation even though it was mostly closed off. Depending on your vision, you might want to bring binoculars to look at the higher parts of the exterior architecture and be careful if you are backpedaling to get a better view. Thank you to the motorist who didn't run me over by the way, when I backed into the street, Mr. Magoo style.

It's a little bit off the beaten path in the Eastern Market neighborhood, which, to me, adds to its artistic charm. I was happy to spend a little bit of time perusing the rest of the gallery and the staff was very kind and informative. There is a small parking lot just outside the entrance and street parking available on Russell as well. Heads up: if you use an Apple GPS to get there, it'll direct you to the back of the building, so you'll need to be one block over! Anyway, I loved my experience and I can't wait to see what other kind of exhibits rotate through here.

The gallery is small but spacious, very airy and the art is perfect curated and spaced out. Like all art, some spoke to me and some did not but it was so fun exploring it all, along with the space. The video surveillance should have also captured the moment I was bear hugged, dragged through a dark hallway, and eventually thrown into a white sign outside. I received bruises and luckily nothing major happened like landing wrong on my head and getting a concussion and possible death (should I have had a bad landing after being tossed by this lady). As she grabbed me and before she threw me to the ground I pled with her that she did not need to do this, but she was very angry (probably because she was working on Halloween and saw me with 3 beautiful girls and she couldn't handle how well the costume looked on me - just speculating here.) I went to this place on Halloween 2025, by the time I was assaulted it was November 1st, 2025 because it was past midnight. I was with 3 other girls (I am a male). We waited in line to get in. I was dressed up as Spider-Man and the girl I was with was Catwoman. I am of Western European descent and maybe that was the issue, I was racially profiled by the woman hostess/bouncer because she was letting in the rest of the people except me and my crew. I proceeded to take my phone out and record her after the assault and take pictures of her so I could later report her. On top of that, there were gunshots nearby so I decided to uber home and report this later instead of right away with the owner. I am going to follow up with this place to make sure we can come to some understanding that assaulting customers is not ok and I will continue to spread the word about my experience if I am not adequately satisfied with their resolution (if there is one). Again, this place is bad news and you should stay away. I am willing to change this review if an apology and some sort of incentive is offered.

The staff is constantly amazing me with their hospitality, I've met four employees so far and they are all shining stars. The four legged ones have great opinions of the art. And the roomba is not a character to be overlooked, the floors are spotless! The gallery manager is well versed and easy to communicate with, often going above and beyond for the artists that he works with. 10/10 guy, you should ask him about the bean. This is THE place to go for contemporary art in the city.

I guess it's called that because they showcase different Artist from e everywhere. The Artist that I really fell in love with was Catherine Washington, a new Artist. She is an amazing local talent. View her crochet work in my pictures - see the beautiful face she crocheted! I can't believe what she can do with yarn. Incredible! The Artist Market has many beautiful and unique pieces of other artwork, like jewelry, crafts, ceramics and more. I Will definitely be back...they had wine and cheese too!

They were featuring a local artist from Detroit at the time. The museum is big on the outside but inside there isn't many pieces of art. It's contemporary which I enjoy. The other portion of the museum is used for shows/events. I went a few weeks ago to see Terri Lyne Carrington and Mickalene Thomas do a collaboration. It was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! I would definitely recommend visiting when there's an event taking place.
