On this visit, we mostly visited the kids section even though I have been in the other areas when I've been alone. The children's section has a lot of nice resources and several computers for older children. There is and enjoyable discovery section for smaller children with activities next to large windows and some tables with age-appropriate chairs with a variety of learning toys. We checked out some toddler board books for my grandson. I do wish they had a better selection of board books. I feel like it was difficult to select appropriate books for him from the selection they had.

So cool that they offer FREE career development classes from finance to sewing! The new Black & Veatch MakerSpace is dedicated to those wanting to learn or refresh sewing skills or basics of metal casting. However, I will not be returning because while I was there only one employee seemed remotely friendly. The ladies who in the very back in what I believe in the teen section were not friendly at all. The one in the very first office in the back gave me dirty looks when our eyes met. Plus one of the patrons were giving my children dirty looks when we first walked into the building. I always thought the library was a place where everyone should be welcomed and that was not the feeling that I had while I was there.

The libraries I grew up visiting had 90s flair, and while amazing spaces that kept me entertained all summer long, they didn't have the grandeur of an iconic inner city library - like this one. The first time I stepped foot in here as a young adult I was in awe. It's just a gorgeous building, and incredible atmosphere to sit and read. The parking garage is set up to look like a bookshelf which I think is cute, and I love how you can just get lost in here and enjoy the space. It just FEELS like a library which sounds dumb but is true. What pushes this into five star territory for me though is the rooftop terrace. On a nice day there really isn't a better spot for an urban picnic.

He enjoyed the kids library section. They have some neat in the wall seating for kids to read. They also have a large wooden ' café' for kids to play at. They had a good amount of books for children. The library was very busy on a Saturday later afternoon. I walked throughout the rest of the library to check it out and they have a good selection of books in the teens and adult areas. They also had a cooking room and also other meeting room rooms. It appeared to be a possible cooking lesson going on at the time we were there. They have a variety of comfortable and modern seating arrangements throughout the whole entire library. They also had a huge window area looking out on natural Prairie area that I believe might have hiking trails around it. We do not have library cards with this system so we didn't check anything out, but we did read books to our grandson while we were there. Everyone seemed to be getting good service from the librarians at the area as they were stationed. The library is a valuable resource for all the community members because of all the free resources that one can use. This library was new and modern. I do think the bathrooms could've been cleaned a little bit better or maybe more often.
