The Grant statue, the chapel, and all the areas around the North side of post that most people on travel never see are simply beautiful. The streets are narrow and not much traffic by the airport area but there is much to see back there. The golf course is great too. We live on an emergency snow route, and once again, snow has fallen, requiring snow removal from…read moreour residence. The snow plow does clear the snow in front of all our neighbors' homes, but it turns onto a side street before our residence. I reached out to the municipal center, but unfortunately, they were closed on Monday due to inclement weather. The answering service advised us to contact the police dispatch since the plow trucks were out. I called on Sunday night and again on Monday at 7:00 a.m. and again at 12:00 p.m., still not resolved. It's disheartening that this issue continues to be overlooked.

The post office at Leaven worth resolved a problem to deliver a package to my daughter. I had…read moreaddressed the package to an address I had from the previous time she was stationed there. I had feared the package was lost. Mark expedited the search and kept in contact with me. Once I gave him the correct address, the package was delivered. All of the confusion my fault. Mark showed I credible patience and professionalism throughout the confusion. Many thanks to all who were involved in delivering the package to the correct address.

It is also the very first park in the entire state of Kansas (established in 1854). The park stretches four blocks along North Esplanade Street (between Ottawa St. and Seneca St). On the west side, you'll find a row of large (especially for the time) homes built prior to 1900. This is the street where the upper class of Leavenworth used to live back when it was called Main Street. The homes, yards, and park are remarkably well-maintained making this a favorite photo spot in Leavenworth. In the distance, you'll have a fantastic view Centennial Bridget connecting Leavenworth, KS with Platte County, MO. Whether you come for some memorable photos, a picnic, or to marvel at history, North Esplanade Park is a free and relaxing tourist excursion open 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Today was the first time that I took my children into the library to see what activities they…read moreoffered. I keep hearing about wiggle time and story time which sound like great programs. However, I will not be returning because while I was there only one employee seemed remotely friendly. The ladies who in the very back in what I believe in the teen section were not friendly at all. The one in the very first office in the back gave me dirty looks when our eyes met. Plus one of the patrons were giving my children dirty looks when we first walked into the building. I always thought the library was a place where everyone should be welcomed and that was not the feeling that I had while I was there.

This location is extremely frustrating and poorly managed. I have visited three separate times to…read morehave my fingerprints taken, and each time there was no employee available to provide the service. Fingerprinting is already offered at very few locations, so it is unacceptable to repeatedly advertise this service without having trained staff available. Calling ahead is useless because no one answers the phone, which makes it impossible to confirm availability before wasting another trip. Either this location needs to properly staff the services it advertises or stop claiming that fingerprinting is available. Customers should not have to make multiple unnecessary trips because employees are unavailable and the phone is consistently ignored. This facility needs serious improvement in both staffing and customer service.
