We were looking for an uncomplicated lunch in Taormina. The hotel staff recommended it. Licchio's looked like a tourist trap to the nth degree, but then again, this is Taormina. We were seated at this bustling outdoor cafe among our fellow tourists and shoppers. To my surprise, the staff didn't rush us or pressure us. The prices were a bit more than we had paid anywhere other than Palermo, but this is Taormina. Had an OK bottle of Grillo for 22 euros. The food was better than expected. We had pizza, eggplant parmigiana, a panino and the terra platter of salumi and cheeses. The food was not at the artisanal levels that we experienced in Siracusa and Ragusa, but it was solid. The patrons around us all seemed happy with their food. We were allowed to linger over espressos before penetrating further into Taormina. read more

The best service and food we've had while in Italy. If coming from the states, you'll feel right at home at Licchio's!!!! Without asking you'll be served with a cup of ice water. No attitude when you ask for a refill of ice, unlike the rest of a Italy. read more

This was one of our favorite spots in Taormina! We went in the winter, and it was great people watching, warm and the customer service was amazing! We don't speak good Italian, and they were very kind about it! The food and wine is fair priced. There are so many cute shops nearby too! read more

Best cannoli EVER!! and we've been around cannolis NYC, Rome Little Italy Boston none can compare. Pizza pasta salads fresh and tasty all the ingredients from the locals. Sat outside just off the square with a very old church across the small quaint street it was magical. Felt like one of the family from the staff "Heyyyy" In Taormina a little gem in Sicily.
