Although she treated us .. I cannot begin to tell you how awful the experience was because of how mean and unprofessional the owner is. She mandates a mask and berates you if it slips a centimeter. The biggest wrong of all was squeezing my nose and pulling the mask up while treating me .. I already felt like I was suffocating under hot heat , mask, and poncho she put over me ... I later found out she did that to my 8 yr old daughter who then begun to cry because of how aggressive she was with the metal comb .. Horrible experience to say in the least. The literal only place that treats lice, has the devil working there. This lady is literally the absolute worst human alive! She's wants to tell me how I spoil my son by holding him and not forcing him to sit in a stroller ( he's 8 months old and we didn't bring the stroller inside because it's a freaking place that treats lice!) Where to start? There is something wrong with the woman here. She berated every parent and employee in there. Honestly - I probably could have dealt with that because I s so panicked to get this treated. But after 3 hours of waiting - she never did get around to treating my daughters hair. She did however belittle a single mother who was trying to explain that her daughters father was not in the picture and therefore didn't need to get treated. She had the audacity to ask this woman if the father hugged her daughter..., ummm what is wrong with you? She is up selling like I've never seen. Do NOT, NOT, NOT waste your money!!! Where shall I begin? Ok, first off, the owner is a HOT MESS! Very, very unprofessional. First off, the owner should immediately start by spending some of the money she "steals", from panicked people, to hire a receptionist. Someone who can answer calls and questions, and in turn maybe book a reasonable appointment or two. Next off, she should spend some money on print outs, to give her customers. That way the customers don't have to waste 30 minutes taking pictures of instructions, she has in a binder, on how to take care of their hair after getting the treatment. NOW let's move on to my experience with their service. I called Lice Away Today in a total and utter panic. I saw a bug in my daughter's hair. I, as any mother would, freaked out. I didn't have a clue where to start and what to do. I was honestly going to do a lice treatment myself but after looking online, I wasn't sure I could effectively eradicate the lice completely. You see horror stories of families battling these bugs for months before resorting to professional help. So I did what I thought was best. I called, who I thought, was a professional. I called Lice Away Today. After talking to the owner, she convinced me I needed to take the whole family to get checked and my daughter to be treated immediately. So, we all took the 40+ min drive to Tampa. She checked all 4 of us and found nits in 3 of our heads but didn't have time to treat us all. Which is nott the way she made it sound on the phone.. So she put oil in my daughter's hair and my husband's, eventhough he was clean. She told us what to do, booked appointments for the following day and sent us on our way. She frightened me to the point that I convinced my mother to come with us the next day and I notified my daughters school and friends. So the next day comes and we head back to Tampa a second time. IT took hours for the treatments to be performed because it was only her and another woman. They had to treat my daughter, son, mother and myself. My daughter and I both got the full treatment with the good ole 30 day guarantee. This all occurred the start of xmas break, about two weeks ago, which leads me to today. As I had stated, I had informed my daughters school that she had lice over break. I dropped my daughter off at school this morning and 20 min later, get a call to pick her up. They checked her hair and found some nits. I immediately called the owner at Lice Away Today and she was still, so unprofessional, and told me that she couldn't talk to me. I needed to speak to her, before I got to my daughter's school. So I kept calling and calling. She finally was able to speak with me. After all the money I spent, she had the gaul to tell me that there would still be nits in her hair but they're dead and that's fine. Well guess what genius, it's NOT fine with the school. My daughter is not allowed back until all the nits are gone!!!! ALL OF THEM!!!! Did I, or did I not, pay for a full treatment. Which included combing all the nits out my daughter's hair? What the heck did I pay for . This is the best part, the owner had the audacity to tell me that I can bring my daughter in at 11am, back to Tampa, and it will be $10 for every 10 minutes to comb out the nits. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! So I then questioned this 30 day guarantee. She informed me that since we all didn't get the full treatment, the guarantee doesn't apply regardless of the fact that my daughter and I received the full treatment. After spending over $600 she wanted to charge me more money!!! Now it was a good thing that we brought my mother, because she had nits, however everyone else my daughter had contact with was clear. I promise you when I say , don't waste your money on this business. This woman is not honest. She is a predator who takes advantage of people who are in a panic. Let's not forget she has a few screws loose in her head. Here's the review 'you' begged me to write. And no I will not refer anyone to you., ever!! I couldn't give this place less stars. As a business owner, I can't believe this place and lady is still in existence. As a parent, I'm appalled at how little she cares. When I spoke to Michelle on the phone, she was very condescending and tried telling me she is the ONLY place who does lice removal. I personally didn't like even talking to her on the phone, but I took her word for it and sent my daughter, her mom and significant other all the way up there. I explained to Michelle our situation about the fact my daughters mom was leaving Wednesday for a week, so getting her in ASAP to get her head checked along with getting my daughters head treated. We even hit up one of our friends who had been recently around us to go up there to get their heads checked. They were scheduled 45 minutes after our appointment, which didn't make sense to us at the time but we figured they had enough techs to take care of us as Michelle said they would. They didn't. All that happened was; she gave us an oil treatment. That we had to apply...ourselves.... Then, tells says they don't have the time to do the head checks on the adults like we had already spoke about and agreed to on the phone. So we were charged to get an oil treatment that we had to do ourselves and then told to come back in the morning for the rest of the treatment. The fact is, time management at this business is terrible. The customer service, just as bad. I would normally look at the other reviews before sending my daughter anywhere. But we picked this place in a panic. But I highly recommend no one takes themselves or their kids here. Our friends who were scheduled in at 6:45 who we referred? Oh, they got checked out. Took over two hours but at least her hair got checked. Would've been nice to have received the same treatment before we drove an hour and 30 minute round trip for literally no reason. We ended up hiring a different lady who took care of all of our issues the very same night, AND charged us LESS for treating my daughter, checking three adults heads and travel then Michelle was going to charge us for only one treatment. We have had my daughters checked a few times since and her head is good to go now but without the help of Lice Away Today. Should change the name to "Lice Away, when we get to you." DONT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF GOING HERE IN A TIME OF FEAR!!! IF I COULD RATE IT LESS I WOULD!!! When I was visiting my parents in the Tampa Bay area over summer, my 10-year-old daughter caught lice at a local summer camp. She was very itchy so I decided that it would be the best idea if we got her checked. We went to the closest place that we could find and got checked. Since the place was packed to the brim and there weren't any parking spots I tried to squeeze in a small space near the entrance. Unfortunately, my daughter was the only one who could squeeze through the tight space to get out of the car, because there was a pole on my side. I told my daughter to sit and wait when she got in while I found a parking spot. I eventually found a parking spot across the street. When I walked in I couldn't believe my eyes!! My daughter was sitting in a chair with some kind of brush going through her hair. I was very confused about what had happened. The lady didn't even ask me for my permission. I grabbed my daughters hand and stomped out of that place. What an awful experience!!! When we got back in the car, my daughter explained that she tried to wait but the lady said, "Well I don't have time for this. Now sit down." I went there today and they took a long time which is normal. but I had just gotten a cartilage piercing and a third ear lobe piercing I didn't take them out because if I did I wouldn't be able to get it out so then kept them in and everything was kinda normal but the lady I had kept getting my hair stuck on the earrings and for the first 45 minutes. I had to keep untangling and unsnagging my hair. Then when I'm done I come to find that YOU have to wash the shampoo or whatever it is out. I was supposed to do something important after but instead I had to go home and wash it out of my hair instead. The stuff the whole time kept dripping down my neck and I think some got in my eye. Happy Day. What began as a nightmare ended as well as possible. My mom found lice in my hair and freaked out. She tortured me with everything she could buy at cvs and ripped my hair out with her comb. She didn't get rid of it, and we were hating each other. First off, what the people who gave this business five stars say is true. This treatment will get rid of your lice. I used the service once in the past and saw great results. I am giving it two stars though because what the one star ratings say is also true. The owner does seem to try not to give you the guarantee by any means possible. If your parents visit for one day, you must pay her $20 for a head check or no guarantee. If you have a child under 4, she says they can't do the heat treatment (probably true), but in that case, no guarantee. I'm not sure how other similar businesses in this field operate (am going to find out if we get lice again), but you should know this going into it. As I've seen in other reviews, the owner can also have terrible customer service if things aren't going exactly as planned. Recently i panicked when I found lice on my kids' heads and called to make an appointment almost at closing time for the next morning. When I talked to my husband that night after they closed, he asked me to cancel so we could try to get rid of them ourselves. I called as close to opening as I could to cancel, and she was so incredibly rude to me, I was shocked. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say she chewed me out. She even hung up without saying goodbye. I am not easily offended and don't like confrontation, but her tone was so nasty that I called back to let her know that I thought it was unacceptable. It is reasonable for a client to change her mind about wanting a service, and they have a deposit for a reason. She did eventually apologize on that second call. I'm trying to be as honest as possible about what happened and hesitated to write this review since she eventually apologized. But people should know what they're getting into when spending the same amount as a round-trip ticket to Europe when you have a large family. And I did use an at-home treatment and nit picked for an hour every day for 11 days and have not found any lice since day 2. If they come back or we have a problem again, I'm going to try another service with five star ratings across the board on yelp. Michelle the owner comes off very snobbish and a know it all where she is "always" right. My daughter had a few nits and her scalp is VERY SENSITIVE! The heat that was used was hot but my daughter made it through after screaming it's too hot. Michelle was yelling at me that what I was doing to distract my daughter was not working and for me to try different things. When I tried what she suggested my daughter only screamed and moved around worse than before. My daughter would ask how much longer and Michelle would say 4 minutes, after 15 minutes it was still 4 minutes. After the heat treatment was done I had to comb through my daughters hair which was now FULL of tangles. The treatment after that wasn't too bad and my daughter sat through it like a champ. When all was said and done my daughter had bright red marks on and behind her ears from the heat. After washing the oil out as directed an hour and a half later the red marks were still there. The heat burned my daughter. She says the heat is not that bad but it burned my 6 year old. DONT GO HERE ANF OVER PAY FOR LIES. read more

South Tampa Parents be careful of this business. When your kids gets lice we panic and will do anything to treat it...but I had a horrible experience from this business recommended by my preschool. Michelle the owner 1st overbooked appointments so all the parents were upset and most sent home untreated the day we arrived. Michelle also price gouged parents by charging $165 for each family member even if the family members r lice free or she will not guarantee results. My family had all been treated twice by over the counter products but I wanted to be sure . She said my 3 children each who she found quote "one nit so we were all infested" therefore my kids, myself, my husband & my sister who helps watch my children all had to be treated at a grand total of $990! 2 weeks before Christmas! Also since she had no time to treat us she wanted to put thick oil in all of r heads and have us come back the next day...this I found out does absolutely nothing. I decided to choose Nit Fairy also recommended by my preschool and she was kind enough to c us that evening and couldn't find any lice on any of us! Amazing no infestation! Such a scam! Very bad experience. The owner was working there with her teenage daughter. I called and she said she could see us within the hour. I got there with my daughter, and the owner asked her teenage daughter to check my daughters hair to see if she had lice. Her daughter kind of looked at her and said she did not know how to check, so I said I would show her, I knew that there were lice in her hair, I found a live one at home. So, I checked her hair and pulled out a live louse. Owner was kind of freaking out and told me to put it in the sink. She then asked me to go outside and brush through my hair because she was going to need to check my hair also. I told her I had already been checked, but she said she could not guarantee anything and less she checked my hair also. Then she also had to check my daughters hair after I already pulled a live Louse out of her hair. Guess what, each had check is $10! When I talk to her on the phone before I came there, she said that she is not a professional hairdresser, however she could cut my daughters hair or I could cut my daughters hair to save time and money. When I actually asked her if I could use the scissors to cut my daughters hair, she asked me to hold on while she was texting, and then told me that she would give me regular scissors and would not let me use her "hairdresser" scissors. She also told me that the only way that she would give a 30 day guarantee was if my husband came in for a head check from one hour away, who I already checked and did not have lice. Also my older daughter who visits once in a while needed to come and have her head checked. And, every person in my daughters class needed to put their backpacks in a trash bag for two weeks every single day. So it sounds to me like the only way there is a 30 day guarantee is if your child is in a bubble. I also forgot to mention that I waited an hour before she even looked at my daughters hair. She took several people that walked in the door that were not scheduled for head checks before me, because she said that would be quick and then she could get started on my daughter. I felt that the whole experience was very sketchy, so while my daughter was sitting in the chair, about to get treated, I told her that I wanted to leave. At that point the owner said, don't forget to pay me $20 for the head checks. Beware! I would not give them A dime. I believe there may be some truth to the treatment, however I would probably choose to go to one of the other facilities. And, next time, I will ask what hoops you have to jump through to actually get a guarantee. Ridiculous! By the way, I used olive oil with therapeutic grade Melaleuca/Teatree oil for one hour. Then I combed through her hair for 2 to 3 days and got all the nits out. I also had her sleep with mayonnaise and her hair for two nights . She is lice free, and it cost next to nothing. My daughter has been battling lice for 9 months and we have tried every drug store recommended "fix" as well as multiple Internet recommendations, and no help. Atleast that is what we thought. Little did we know the last time we checked, they were still present as verified by a hair dresser. My daughter immediately searched online and found these wonderful ladies at Lice Away. Set up appt, and after a very thorough inspection, it appears that the hair dresser was wrong and she was lice free!
