The little kid play area is smaller than Pederson. There are two shade covered table areas in this park one close and one further away from these play structures. Quite a few other single tables and bbqs throughout and lots of trees. this park has baseball field and lots of lawn area. Restrooms are pretty decent the times I've needed to use it. Not too bad - better than a porta potty. Conveniently located functional drinking fountain for humans and dogs. If you wanted to get a coffee and meet up with friends - park at Starbucks by Bel Air and walk a little over a mile to this playground and back for a beautiful exercise experience.

There is a water feature that is typically working from Memorial Day weekend (or beginning of June) to about Labor day (although it stays hot in our area well until October!) unfortunately the water feature is outdated and / or breaks down often. Last year, the water feature was down a lot in May/ June and again in August / September. 5/5 rating for the park for grass, shade, trees, (mostly up-kept and safe) play structure, restrooms (bring your own soap, and the toilets clog very easily). 2/5 rating for the water feature: It is being out dated, and the schedule of it being open is unreliable.

The down side is that bathroom is very far from the tennis court. It was confusing that the address of the park GPS drove me to a cul de sac in the neighborhood. I came back after going to a near by store and was able to park on the main street.

There's free street parking and the restrooms are actually well maintained (soap + toilet paper usually stocked, which is always a plus). The only concern is the restroom is located near the 2-5 yo playground only, so if you are at basketball or tennis courts, it takes quite a walk to reach restroom. For sports, you've got tennis, baseball, basketball, and pickleball. The pickleball setup has 4 outdoor acrylic courts with permanent lines. You do need to bring your own net. The courts are nicely shaded by trees, so it's not too brutal in the summer heat. Playground-wise, there are two sections for different ages (2-5 yo and 5-12 yo), with swings and climbing structures: good setup if you've got kids of different ages. One nice bonus is the bike trail access that connects over to Betschart Park, so you can extend a walk or ride easily. Also worth mentioning: the park is used for free adaptive/inclusive recreation programs through Cosumnes CSD. They run classes and activities for kids and adults with disabilities (Autism) (fitness, yoga, swim, pickleball, tennis, Zumba, camps, etc.). There's also RAD Fun Fridays with games, movies, crafts, and more for all abilities. They also have pickleball coaches. The pickleball is every 2 weeks at 10:30am PST. One of the pickleball coach is also the owner of local Sacramento pickleball paddles manufacturer: Jolle pickleball. All pickleball paddle is from fiber carbon so it is very light. He has some pre-owned paddles for half the price. Call him soon before they are gone!! Overall: clean, shaded, pretty active community park, and especially good if you play pickleball or want a family-friendly spot that's not too chaotic.

We even came on a windy day, and it was still a wonderful place to be. It is so spacious that it's the perfect spot to fly kites. A few of us were flying kites together, and it was such a relaxing, heartwarming experience. It's incredibly family and dog friendly, super roomy, and has so much going on. Because it's so clean and well maintained, this might just become the park I bring my kids to most often, and it is definitely a top choice for hosting future family events! It is perfect for a workout, sports activities, or just letting the kids play. I love the layout, especially how they designed the two separate grass areas where one sits at a lower elevation, while the other is level with the rest of the park. But honestly, what really blew me away was the restroom. I know that sounds like an exaggeration, but I'm serious! So many park restrooms are cold, dark, dirty, and lacking privacy. This one felt downright luxurious. It is completely temperature controlled, which was especially nice since it was breezy outside! It was warm, well lit, exceptionally clean, and had absolutely no odor. It even sounded like it had a great ventilation system running. The only minor downside was the lack of toilet seat covers, but that's an easy fix. There's a small water park to play in on hot days. There's walk way paths to benches to rest or relax. Another little perk of the neighborhood!!!

Not when the kids were younger, and not when we lived kind of closer to here. Seem it just never registered on our radar to come here and enjoy the facilities. In fact, I thought this is an Elk Grove Cosumnes Community Services District maintained park, and it turns out it's a City of Sac Park & Rec park, just goes to show I don't get out enough recreationally, haha. Anyways, so we arrived and went down Jacinto and had to make an U-turn bc the courts were not down that street, so we came back onto Center Parkway as the wife pointed out the covered fence must be where the tennis courts are. I give her props as a good navigator. So we found street parking right next to the courts and joined our friends who got there first. The courts are in pretty good shape except one of the court has some major cracks from settling, it would be good if the City filled them. These are regular tennis courts with Thermoplastic pickleball lines applied in blue over the white lines 2 years ago, according to my buddy. I would say the lines could've been another color like yellow or a lighter color than the blue and they would be more visible for my old eyes, but they are durable. We played as 1 set of doubles and 1 set w/3, boys and girls separate, for a good while and then it got kind of too hot as we were approaching midday. So we had some snacks and water and then we all headed out to go home for lunch. The Rules for this court are clearly posted on the fence entrance door on a metal sign (see pics) and it's open from sunup till 10pm, and lights are allowed from sunset till 10p, although the courts are not lighted, which is probably a good thing so as to discourage people from playing till too late and disturbing the neighborhood. Although the courts are not shaded by any trees, there is plenty of shade right outside the entrance but there's not seating / tables anywhere close by so if you want to chill and have a snack, bring your own picnic blankets or some lawn chairs, no eating/drinking on the courts. We had a good time and this is closer to us and not so crazy busy compared to many of the other parks w/pickleball courts all over Elk Grove and Sac, so we'll be back.

Came here on a weekend afternoon and this time, we hit the pickleball courts. I've not even been to…read morethis part of the park, could've fooled me, all this time I thought these were tennis courts, haha. Just goes to show how much I know. My kids started playing pickleball, and came to a clinic taught be a coach. It was good times. The courts are nice, they are heavily used according to the wife, as tons of people from all around town come here to play quite competitively in the mornings. Recreational players who are so good, they look like pros to us. Anyways, lots of retired folks and others who come to play because this is a great sport for all. Well, the kids look like they have enjoyed it so far, it looks to be fun. There's 6 courts here and very spacious. Nets look in good condition, courts look good too, the pavement looks a little worn here and there, but I also could tell it's all kept up pretty well. The fence here is good too, so it's pretty secluded, there's some seating w/a couple of tables w/a shaded patio cover right by the courts for resting if not playing. I took a few pictures of the BBQ area so I'd remember how much room there is for future parties, plenty of picnic tables and the water feature/spray park area is nice too. That part won't start till after Memorial Day, according to the wife. It was windy the day we came for pickleball, but I ended up playing a few games too after the clinic ended, and wife and I both had a good workout and it was fun. Must work these old bones or we'll fall apart, haha We'll be back.

Adj: Fantastically Fun!…read more Oasis Community Park, a highly anticipated park that opened several years ago at the corner Knotts and Whitelock Parkway between the newer Walmart on Whitelock and the Elk Grove Auto Mall. My kids really like this park, it's not my favorite as a parent and I'll go into that later, but this park is one of the newest ones in Elk Grove and it's been a good one, even though it's now been open about 3+ years, we've not bored of it at all. We used to come here a lot, but my kids are a bit older now and they're not as into parks anymore, but if we meet up with their friends here and have a "park date," then they're totally up for it b/c there's a lot to do here. First there's a concrete walking trail around the whole park, so parents can walk their dogs or just themselves =P around and keep an eye on their kids at the same time. One side of the park (north side) features an OASIS water spray zone where there's several water shooting from the ground thingamabobs (yup!) as well as some coming out of fake palm trees and animals that are quite powerful and give the kids a fun run for their money as they try to dodge the water OR run across the water features over and over again or jump on them to get super wet. This is great in the hot dry summers in EG. On the south side of the park are several play structures for different age groups. There's climbing ones and sliding down ones, and swings and a small ropes course type structure. I like that there's playgrounds designed for different age groups based on their age appropriate development. So the 1 star knocked off is that as a parent, this park is super spread out and there's not really any shaded areas (there's the general tarp shades over each play structure) w/SEATING for parents to be close to so they can supervise their kids (at least when they're little), the giant gazebo (more details below) is all the way in the middle of the park and the structures are more towards the southern part, so it's harder to watch one's kids especially if each kid wants to play in a different section. So that's a bit of a safety issue and why it's not my favorite park to take my kids to from a parent's POV. Other offerings at Oasis park are great too, to include an exercise equipment section, basketball court, 2 soccer fields that are lighted at night, multiple pickleball courts that are opened and lighted till late like 10p, and a couple of tennis courts too. Then there's also a concrete ping pong table (may need the stronger balls for this), a dog park, a huge gazebo right in the middle of the park that is perfect for parties, with 2 BBQs grills built-in with 8 tables, 2 smaller gazebos with 1 built-in BBQ, all of which are great as a hanging out place for parents and kids alike to cool down after fun in the sun. There's also so much open grass area for free play, volleyball, or just running around, and everything's nicely landscaped and maintained, so there's no lack of fun to be had here. Overall, Oasis Park is an excellent park and definitely one of the best if not the best park in EG!
