My last review of Lidl was 6 years and a pandemic ago, so time for an update. We are regular Lidl shoppers now, for some things. Milk, eggs, yogurt, some cheese, some cured meats are great, with better prices than elsewhere. Quality of meats is spotty, some good, some very not. It is easier for us to just avoid the fresh meat section. Beverages are priced well, although Kroger can beat them when they throw a sale. Produce is good if you use it right away, shorter life expectancy than other places. Bakery items are top notch. But here is the part where Lidl is invaluable..... we regularly buy pastas, sauces, cereals, soups, peanut butter, rice, spices, canned veg, toothpaste, those sorts of things for a "blessings box" near our home (take what you need.) At Lidl prices, we are able to do a LOT more than we would be able to do if we were spending the same dollars at another store. So THANKS, Lidl, for keeping folks fed. One thing I never have commented on in any review is the store's app. Lidl offers limited coupons and reward deals for previous shopping if you use their app (or punch in your info at the register.) This is not bad, although the larger grocers obviously do a lot more of it. Still, if you are going to Lidl with any frequency, the app is a Must. read more

I went to Lidl on Staples Mill store #1117. I had never been to a Lidl before and was interested in seeing what they had to offer. When I came in , I immediately was drawn to the eye catching pastries. Having not been there before, I saw bags located below. I however did not see the tissue paper that was located way on the top of the display cases. As I was grabbing a pretzel roll, an employee Amanda snidely said to me that they encourage people to use the tissue paper. So why arent the bags next to the tissues at a level where people can easily see them to use. Had I seen them, I would gladly use them. Amanda maybe could of just said the tissues are on top. Funny that she was criticizing me, when she was walking around with a lot of her back hair not in her hair bonnet. Needless to say, not a pleasant experience. On a good note the pretzel rolls were good. read more

On our recent vacation trip , we detoured to visit a lidl store , when we were close to Richmond , Virginia . I only wished they would build one here in Valrico , Florida . The freshly baked farmers bread the pastry spirals with custard / raisins baked freshly . The yummy chocolate . Was able to get German bread dumplings for a fraction of what i pay here .. next time i need to plan this as part of my trip and make sure i have more space in car .... read more

I was very surprised at how spacious, clean, and attractive this Lidl is. It reminded me more of a Whole Foods than a discount grocery store. This was my first time shopping at an American Lidl, and it was a much more pleasant, elevated experience than my local shops while living in Europe, which were always dank and cluttered. This certainly changes my perception of the chain. The store is well laid out and has a great variety of products. They have everything from fresh bread and meats, fruits and veg, a wide range of cheeses, alcohol, snacks, and everything in between, from personal care to housekeeping. I was only shopping for produce, but I went through every aisle just to see what was in stock and of course ended up buying a few extra items that caught my eye. The vegetables I got were fresh and extremely competitively priced for organic. The check out process was efficient, and the parking lot is huge and accessible. I will be back again. read more

Easy in and out. Quick access to from I-295 and I-64. Staff were friendly. This location is missing the self checkout lanes which would be helpful. The store appeared to be clean and wasn't cluttered, which is a plus. read more

I stopped into Lidl because I drive by it every week and was curious what made it different from other grocery stores in the area. There was a limited cart selection when we arrived, but it was POURING and I wouldn't be surprised if carts were hiding in the parking lot. Most shoppers appeared to be using the child sized carts. The produce selection is very precise and small. By this section, I knew I could not do all of my shopping in Lidl, but would have to go to another store, too. The selection of vegetables was fresh and fairly typical, with some exotic fruits thrown in. The meat selection is in chill boxes rather than a deli counter. There was also a limited selection here, too. The price on eggs, however, was phenomenal! You should bring your own grocery bags, because there are no free bagging options. However, there are bags to purchase at every check out lane. On the day I went, there was one lane open and check out took more than 15 minutes. We bought a package of frozen shrimp fajitas to heat up for dinner, some German chocolate, and a Lidl frozen pizza that looked like a big name brand. I can't say I liked any of it aside from the chocolate. The pizza remained doughy and almost raw, the shrimp fajitas were soggy and had a strange chemical smell to the seasoning packet. Overall, I would return for some items - the chocolate or wine for hostess gifts - and to perhaps try the bakery items. However, Lidl won't be replacing my typical grocery store anytime soon. read more

Although the prices seem lower than other local grocery chains you need to be careful of past expiration dates. Today we bought ham. It turned out to be two full weeks past the expiration date. On previous trips the produce was 2 or 3 days close to expiration. It's very very difficult to find fresh produce or meat at Lidl. read more

Having spent time in Germany, this is what I expected. Straight to the point shopping, low prices, and good quality. Understand the concept of efficiency and whats logical and you'll appreciate this place. Unlike Aldi (another European style grocery store), this place has a bakery and the bakery is awesome. Their croissants and baguettes are probably one of the better ones in town even compared to places that label themselves "French Bakery". The area is clean, free from carts, shelves are organized, and the the staff are friendly. Once you understand how this place functions, you'll love it. read more

I've been to this location about 5-7 times. Store is clean, organized and well stocked...I'm always able to find new things...I keep wondering to myself why am I not making this one of my main stores instead of the one I only go to when I see a sale item I want. Today I was reminded of it. Register #1 around 10:30 am. Only 1 register is open and the lane is long. I don't have alot of items but the lady that just finished checking out has a full cart. Now the cashier is suppose to have my groceries pushed to the other side so when she is finished ringing me up I can bag my groceries also. But she doesnt. My groceries is getting all mixed up with the previous customers. I start to pick up my cheese and bread and the cashier tells me not to bag my groceries until shes done ringing me up. WHAT!?!? PLEASE TRAIN YOUR CASHIERS ON YOUR PROCESS. of course my receipt does not match my groceries. I'm missing 2 items. read more

If you are going for major grocery shopping, featured fruit or vegetable will be super cheap. Very little major brands, many foreign or off brands. Walked the entire store. Clean. Wide aisles. Reminded me of a more expensive version of a $$ store. One visit was enough to satisfy my curiosity read more

I went into Lidl for a hot second and was actually kind of impressed. It's really bright and airy with a large selection of food and... baby clothes? Haha. That was a little odd, I'll admit. I'm not a huge fan of these European stores because they don't carry many of the items that I like or have the "perks" that you typically find in grocery stores nowadays. But, I think it's a neat concept and a nice break from the typical shopping experience. Bonus points for them being available for delivery via Shipt. read more

I just left this grocery store and was extremely disappointed by the staff and management. There was a male patron inside the store shopping and playing music on a STEREO BOX SYSTEM. People were annoyed and leaving. When I asked if staff could ask him to cut it down, the store manager (Ben) reported by way of the staff I spoke with that "there is nothing we can do, he is a regular." You have tons of people being inconvenienced and you can't do anything to convenience one person. No one wants to shop and hear song after song with cursing and inappropriate language. Poor customer service. We received coupons in the mail and have never shopped here so decided to give it a chance. The cashier was delighted that the date on the coupon was for the following week and said he couldn't use it. They also charge for bags when nobody else in the area does. They didn't have a lot of selection--I wasn't able to find pita bread on my trip which can easily be found anywhere else. Also, there were cans of tuna that were EXPIRED and left on the shelf so be careful and check dates when purchasing here. read more

Aldi and Lidl make grocery shopping fun and very affordable. Yes there aren't major brand names, but frankly that doesn't matter. I can get major groceries done for about 2 week of eating for under $80. You can't beat that! Go ahead and buy the brand names at Kroger or Wegman's and pay an easy $100+. read more

I love it here because the prices are cheap and the items in store are really good quality. It's always clean and even when crowded the atmosphere isn't as obnoxious as a typical grocery store. I also love that you can find random handy items like a sewing kit or label maker for dirt cheap. I will say however I wish the check out situation was different. I don't mind bringing my own bags or bagging my own groceries but I feel like the employees are just slinging your groceries across the conveyor belt with reckless abandon in order to be quick. And if you have a lot of stuff it's stressful to pay and also pack up your things. That being said, I know that they are just doing what they are told and following orders! Everyone working is always polite and courteous, never rude. Also the veggie lasagna here is amazing. read more

Don't be afraid to try whatever brand that may be new to you. Prices are lower than everywhere else, particularly the sale items. The store is brightly lit with wide aisles. .But it is not without problems. 1. They are frequently out of advertised sale items. 2. Check your eggs. 3. Biggest challenge..,the staff..not enough and not helpful. 4. Bought 8 apples for $11 (they were BIG)..3 were mealy and brown. I brought them back and they only gave me $2.00. Those bad apples cost $4.00. Why did they not refund what I paid. Overall...be careful. Bring your own bags. read more

That moment when you realize you are a regular and they really don't care. 3 minutes before closing walking in to grab cookies (that's all I wanted) and they literally are RUNNING to luck the door. Really? Then spend time telling me they are closing. The difference between places like Trader Joe's, Ellwood Thompson and Good Foods is we like that we our business is appreciated and that we are recognized as a regular . Sad Lidl! read more
