As far as grocery stores are concerned I don't think there was anything special about it. But I really enjoyed walking around and picking up snacks. I like the way they had plastic covers over all the refrigerated section's. It feels really energy-efficient. And there was some pretty good pastry bread. I loaded up. I feel like the prices are reasonable, but the selection seemed a little off kilter. I'm not really sure what they were going for but I couldn't find the brands that I was looking for. I ended up getting substitute products that were pretty good, so I don't understand too much how that works.

I'm including inclusive places in my Yelp reviews now when in US, Europe, or UK: I didn't experience any Asian hate or discrimination while I was there. They had a selection of chocolate, which I was happy with. Some people have compared Waitrose to Trader Joe's, but I hear that Co-Op may be closer to Trader Joe's. All in all, it was a pleasant experience.

Mostly from Spain , Kenya or South Africa and often looking tired. Might as well go to Lidl at least they are cheaper and fresher , fruit and vegetable come from the same greenhouses. Also the machines at the self check out often do not work properly and recently the one i used wasn't blipping if you didn't scan properly . I didn't scan properly my last item , and although it was in plain sight one of the shop assistant was very aggressive implying I did it on purpose. I have been spending about £300 in the shop every month but I think I ll take my custom mostly elsewhere now and just get a few things from Waitrose which are still worth getting , Not good overall . Waitrose is, in my opinion, the best supermarket in Putney…read more They have a bakery, fresh fish counter, fresh meat counter and delicatessens all on site which for a small supermarket is really good. The nearest Asda for example (which is about four times the size) does not have a fresh fish counter at all. The range of fruit and vegetables is excellent, and all from reasonably local sources. An extensive wine department can be found at the back of the store, which is better than some dedicated local shops like Threshers. The staff are all very helpful, and will even make wine recommendations. Some complain that Waitrose is expensive. However, if you compare like for like products Waitrose is actually very competitive. But they don't sell any lower quality or value products, so if you do go here for every shop then it will end up costing more. They also don't have as many special offers as some of the other supermarkets. Fresh flowers are located at the front of the store if you are looking for a gift, and they also have a reasonably large magazine section. I find the isles in the store are wider than other supermarkets, which results in a less cramped shopping experience. The tills are always well staffed, so you never seem to have to queue for very long if at all. They will validate your parking in the Putney exchange car park if you spend more than £10. An added bonus at the weekends is that a talented violinist often busks in Putney Exchange, who you should be able to hear while you're shopping or queuing.

Their range of prepared veggies and meats is respectable, though like other Tesco Expresses pushes primarily frozen foods. I use it regularly on my way to visit friends nearby. It stocks the usual range of basic groceries, ready meals, confectionery, newspapers, tobacco and a decent range of wines and spirits. There can be long queues at peak times (ie when people are on their way home from work) although in my experience they move along quite quickly. The choice is a bit limited for a major shop, though, and they don't provide trolleys, just baskets. Usefully, there are two 24 hour free cash-points outside.

Lots of checkouts so the queues tend to whittle away fairly quickly.
