Lousy Store. They never have their sales items but always claim "you wouldn't believe how may we have sold". That's a lie. I was there early this A.M. for their Jennie-O Turkey Breast and they were sold out. Today was first day of the sale and the store had only been open a few mins. Also, they had a sign posted that you could only buy 1. Nowhere in their ad does it state you can only purchase 1. I traveled some distance to buy this turkey breast but no more. This same thing continues to happen over and over with their advertised specials. I'll not be going there again. read more

I'd been to the Lidl in Wake Forest and maybe it was just too busy that day to get a good feel for the store, because overall I wasn't very impressed. While in Wilson for the Whirligig Festival I decided to check out this location and it was a totally different experience - and in a good way! First of all, the store wasn't very crowded. Maybe everyone was at the festival where Lidl had quite a presence with a little village type setup. Smart cookies (employees) who were giving out free samples and even free juice and grilled cheese off their food truck! The store itself is very clean, well stock and organized, and the employees are very nice and helpful when needed. I was able to get a real good look at everything and must say, the prices are terrific! I'm an avid Aldi shopper in Durham and now look forward to Lidl building their store not far from me. I bought a number of items that are on my shopping list that we use regularly and so far everything I've tried I like! The wrapped cheese slices are very good as is the no antibiotic ham lunch meat. I love the decaf kcup Donut style coffee. Just wish it came in boxes bigger than twelve portions. The lite mayo tastes as good as Hellman's and the low low price is amazing. Suffice to say if you want to save money and not sacrifice quality this is a great place to shop. Aldi, you've got some competition on your hands for sure! read more

I decided to check out the closest to me since my local town will also be getting one and I was definitely impressed. I went about 6pm on a Friday. The store was very clean and organized! Prices were exactly what was advertised and produce was fresh. The bakery items were also fresh because I bought something and ate right as I left. There were a few items I would skip on but I can see why these stores are becoming popular! Definitely worth more return trips. I will be glad when ours is built. read more

Lidl - Grocery Near Me - Wilson, North Carolina

Every time I go to lidl's there's a long line up front with one cashier. The open line goes back even into the Isles. Also they don't always have the same products so if you fall in love with the product and you go back and it's not there there's nothing you can really do. Also some of their store products like the pasta is funky, the pasta there is almost more like a noodle it's a little bit slimy not like your regular pasta a very strange product really. Generally the people that work there are nice but you can see the management is kind of hard on them a couple times I've seen them be rude to their employees and their employees don't seem to really be enjoying their job. read more

Whatever you do, DO NOT buy milk here. We had some that started to sour 4 days before the expiration date and they refused to replace it. The person basically accused us of making it go bad so we could get another gallon. REALLY! Like I want to rip your store off of $1.25. Insulting us was very bad customer service. Yay!! Lidl in Wilson, I wish we have one in Goldsboro, NC. I've lived in Germany before so it's quite nice to have one close by. Just FYI, Lidl is a German based co. When we first walked in the sliding door you are greeted by the fresh smell of pastries and other breads. This is like shopping at Sam's and or Costco (warehouse type, everything is out) so don't be alarmed of their product set-up. To my surprise this place is impeccably clean, being that this place is newish. Typically I try to only shop organic food and I'm pleasantly surprised of their abundant amount of organic products. They have an amazing selections of food, plants, produce, meats, deserts, some household stuff and even a wide variety of WINE AND BEER! Lidl please come to goldsboro too! My wife and I love Lidl. We always get great deals here. Although they don't always have everything on our grocery list, we definitely save tons of money by going here first. Always clean and the wide aisles make it easy to get around even when they are busy. The fresh baked bread is so welcoming when you walk in the door. Visted Lidl today for the first time. My experience was MARVELOUSO. This was the Best experience at a grocery since relocating from NYC to Wilson NC. I lost my mind and spent All my money. The first time I shopped at Lidl was during their grand opening. The checkout lines were backed up, so put my items back on the shelf and walked out, thinking to my self, I will never return. However, a couple weeks later I gave it another chance. Glad I did. Now, I am a regular customer. Lidl offers unique items that I cannot find at other grocery stores, for instance Icelandic yogurt. They also offer a variety of organic and gluten free products. Lidl also stocks a variety of non-Grocery items. Word of advice, if you see something you like, buy it, because when it's gone, it's gone. Prices are fair. I do not do my complete grocery shopping at Lidl, but I do shop there weekly for certain items. At times, staff can be slow opening up another register when the checkout line backs up. I've learned to just deal with it and browse around a bit until they do or the line is shorter. Oh yeah, bring your own bags or you can purchase them at checkout if needed. read more
