Our wedding was on June 26, 2021 and it was the best day of our life and we had a blast! Lido Banquets & Events was clean, organized, food was great and everything well served. Andre was professional and I was 100% comfortable with our communication after my husband and I postponed our original wedding date due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I have had dozens of family members call and compliment on how beautiful the hall was and how great the food and service was. We had my daughter's Quinceanera on October 21,2023. I still can't get over on how beautiful and elegant everything was. This venue is sparkling clean. The staff and management at lido banquet were very kind and professional. Thank you Andre for that. The food was amazingly delicious. I cannot begin to express how baffled I am with the horrible experience my family and I had to go through during my daughter's wedding. First and foremost, multiple requests were broken in the contract. My daughter, the bride, ended up extremely upset with the multiple occurences that happened that night. The level of unprofessionalism that both the Andre and his wife displayed that night, is completely unspoken of. I would not recommend to anyone to put theirselves in the same situation we were in. They threatened us multiple times for such minuscule occurences, and the way that they reacted was so aggressive towards us. They threatened to sue us for passing a minute past the contract end time and told us to "get the f*** out of the banquet, youre in my house". My family and I went through such horrible experiences all night that we are all writing reviews to share awareness of their violent characters and their lack of patience. They both should not be in this business, if this is how they are treating individuals. DO NOT recommend to bring this family any more business. read more

We looked at almost 20 vendors for our April 2016 wedding, and we got lucky with Lido Banquets. They're actually partnered with Manzo's Banquets in Des Plaines, and we went with Lido, since it was more affordable for us. Lido had the best price for the best type of meal, and they accommodated so many things for us. First of all, they are located in Jefferson Park, right on Milwaukee, and we couldn't have picked a better location for us and our guests. The great thing about it was that there is only one banquet room. I was worried about sharing banquets with other wedding parties, and this is pretty much what sold me. The second HUGE thing about this banquet was the price. We looked at the menu options, and the Manager, Joanna, said we could either do Individual Plates, or Family Style, which is the same price......WAIT WHAAAAT? that was definitely the best menu pricing in the whole Chicago-Northwest Suburban area. Other great things about Lido, were that they had a bridal suite/coat check (whichever one you wanted to use it as), a nice looking bar, a huge dance floor, and updated/easy-to-access bathrooms for our older guests. The tasting process was a bit unique, since they are only able to give you tastings when they have parties, but it makes sense, since they don't have a restaurant part, and they are mainly a banquet for special occasions. We booked this banquet about a year before our wedding, and I am so glad we did, because it was definitely worth it! I remember that my husband and I stopped looking after we found Lido Banquets. They give you options of chair covers, colored napkins, uplighting, and they even have centerpieces that you can use! They made everything easy, and we are so happy we found Lido!!! Our wedding was amazing, thanks to Joanna and the staff, and our guests kept telling us that they loved the food! Andre and his wife were really nice and worked with us during our decision of booking this banquet. Prior to the wedding, things were going smoothly. We had discussed sparklers we wanted to include during our first dance, to which they said yes as long as the flame was low. We were happy and they seemed to be understanding and working with us to make our night just the way we had pictured. The day of the wedding, I got a call from the DJ informing me the owner was refusing for the sparklers to go in. Once I arrived to the banquet, i spoke to Andre who told me we had not discussed this during our contract. I reminded him of what we talked about. He then proceeded to say, "ok you can do the sparklers but if the ceiling or floor get messed up you are responsible. I am tired or people wanting sparklers and me having to clean the mess. Going forward to whenever someone wants to book we will say no to sparklers!" This caused us so much discomfort, stress and disappointment. He seemed very annoyed from the first interaction. He later informed us we could use them but we would have to clean it up right away and we needed to bring in our own cleaning supplies and broom to clean. We decided to not include them due to the threat of our deposit not being given back and to avoid further issues. The servers and food were great. The wife was very compassionate and willing to help and work with us. However, Andre left an unpleasant memory. At the end, as the DJ was packed and ready to head out Andre started to speak loudly saying he needed to leave. "You are past the time and every minute you stay here i have to pay for electricity." My dad went in to try and figure out what was going on. Andre continued to scream at my dad and tell him "this is my home!" He continued to walk off and mouthing words that were not pleasant. Overall, the space and food is good. The wife is really nice and wiling to work with you. However, it was a surprise to have Andre react and act the way he did on our wedding. He seemed so nice and understanding prior to the wedding date. The unnecessary stress, discomfort and issues brought upon us left a bad taste. read more

We had been to a friend's wedding at Lido Banquets last year and we liked the venue and had a good time, so we decided to consider it for our own wedding this year on May 3.We ended up booking the venue because it fit the size of our event and we were happy with the price and other amenities. We also particularly liked the food, which was way better quality than any banquet hall dinner we've had before. When we booked the venue, the new owner said they were doing some renovations ahead of our event and so we expected it to have some updates, but when we saw the makeover we were completely blown away. The entry way was completely renovated from carpet and basically a 90s kind of decor to totally modern marble and stone and had this really cool color changing lighting. It was like walking into the lobby of a boutique hotel downtown. They also added a gorgeous bridal room, which was one thing our friend who got married there last year said would have been really nice to have. I don't know how my wife, then fiance, would have lived without the bridal room to put all of her things in and get ready. The ballroom and bar also had all kinds of new touch ups and refreshes that make the whole vibe of the place fresh and modern. The new owners are super friendly and beyond professional. They understood everything we wanted and knew all the right questions to ask to make sure everything was accounted for and they made us feel confident the event would go off smoothly. On the night of the event, they were able to anticipate everything we needed and took care of every detail. Even when we made some last minute changes to the room arrangement and decorations, Andre was able to accommodate everything with no issues. We had 225 guests, which is not an easy fit without going to a big hotel ballroom, but Lido was a perfect fit! One of the reasons we looked into this venue in the first place was because we liked the food at our friend's wedding so much, so when we found out there were new owners, we wanted to make sure they offered the same menu choices and had the same quality. They said the chef had been there for something like 30 years and nothing had changed in the kitchen. We had a fabulous homestyle meal with mushroom soup, salad with homemade Italian dressing that was ridiculously good, roasted chicken on the bone, and beef that was slowcooked and melted in your mouth. Can't say enough good things about the dinner. We're still hearing about how much fun everybody had and how much they liked the dinner and the venue a month later and we couldn't be more pleased. I can't be any more happy that we went with Lido. Lido is a Polish banquet hall known for great service and amazing food and boy oh boy did they deliver! From the time we met Peter, the owner, we knew we were in good hands. He was knowledgable, accomodating, helpful and always available to answer any questions we had. We made our own package that included, champage greeting, hor doeurves, linens, chair sashes, silverware, sweet table, cake, 7 course dinner, late night snack, wine on all tables and open bar. Peter called me the week of the wedding to confirm the cake, menu and guest count. We went and dropped some boxes off for set up. Peter said they can set up whatever we want. I had some linens I bought, and of course all the decor. By the time DOC got to reception Lido did all the set ups including centerpieces in an effort to help my aunt the florist make the ceremony on time. Everything looked beautiful and just the way I wanted it to look. With DOC's supervision my dream set ups came true. Food was amazing. We had lemon butter chicken that everyone LOVED, beef au jus, vesuvio potatos that were to die for and I ate a lot of, russian pierogi, salad, soup, cucumbers with sour cream and dill and green beans almondine. Our guests raved about the hor deourves that consisted of rolled sandwiches, chichen fingers (YUMO) and super fresh bruschetta. There were drinks and champage on all tables. After dinner they set up the "sweedish table" consisting of the sweet table and late night snack which included various salads, meats, breads, fruit, veggies and dip. They packed leftover fruit and sweet table for us to take home, which was a great snack Sunday morning before we left for our mini moon. The staff was amazing and the head waitress went above and beyond to make us happy, fetching whatever we requested. I felt taken care of and my guests raved about food, decor and service. The bar tender was super sweet and made drinks FAST! One of the things I was most excited about and people are still raving about was the cake and cake set up. Lido works with the amazing Oakmill bakery where we got to pick the cake we wanted. Lido set the cake in front of the head table and it looked amazing. This banquet hall is worth every penny. My wedding was on 5/19/2012 and i still have some guest talking about how good the food and service was! And how beautiful the hall was decorated. I worked with Peter and he just went above and beyond. He makes you feel like you are the only wedding or event that he has. The day of the wedding, the bar tenders were so much fun and extreamly sweet! I was told by some guests that the servers were like nothing they have ever experienced at a wedding before, because they were always available and very nice. The server I had for the head table was always around when i needed her and she was also so very sweet. I am so happy that i had my wedding reception at the Lido banquets. My wife and I recently had our reception here. It was pretty solid reception. We were on a budget, and to be honest, this place gives you the best bang for your buck in the Chicago-land area. Furthermore, Peter (the owner) is really easy to work with and very accommodating. We really appreciated the flexibility of not locking in our count to him until a week before the wedding! We also had an OK food tasting, but the day of the wedding... the food was really great (not sure what changed, but it was 100 times better). We did have some issues with their bakery where they outsource the cake. Peter was very apologetic for the way Sugar Hill Bakery was mistreating us, but nothing came out of it (i.e. no acknowledgement/apology from the bakery). This is the only reason I am not giving Lido's 5-stars. Overall, a really solid establishment. It really hit our sweet spot on budget, food, service, and accommodation. How can I describe Lido's in one word? AMAZING! The manager, Joanna, and the staff in this banquet hall are above and beyond, and provided great service and hospitality for my mother's surprise 60th Birthday back in November 2018. From the planning to the surprise was ran smoothly and no problems at all. The money spent for this banquet is well worth it and the food was delicious, all of my guests enjoyed it especially the addition bar. And the scenery of the room is perfect for a party of 200-250 guests and within the city. I highly highly recommend this place to anyone and enjoy the services they have to offer! read more

He doesn't try to drain you out of your money either. I had my wedding reception here in April of this year and when I walked into the room I was speechless. We don't care to hear you after hours, lingering in the parking lot, screaming, laughing, or see you using our alley as a restroom. I am writing to express my extreme satisfaction with the an event we recently held at Lido Banquets. We had a retirement celebration for my mother. Thanks to Joanna for her attention to detail and professionalism throughout the entire planning process. We have been planning this for almost a year. Joanna was kind, pleasant, and patient throughout. She answered all of our questions and was incredibly courteous every single time we called / met with her (Note: we called several times, as we had three siblings planning the celebration, and we all had questions). She helped coordinate everything from the cake, to the gift table and even the beautiful sign outdoors, which read "Retiring in Style." As for the night of, we were blessed to have Peter seamlessly coordinate every single detail. He was professional, pleasant, and focused. You can tell he has a great passion for the work he does! Peter went above and beyond in every single way. When we first arrived, I brought fresh flowers to adorn the cake, but was not sure how to go about it (I didn't want to add them on there myself and risk ruining the cake). I saw Peter and handed him the flowers. He personally decorated the cake, and they looked beautiful! Within a matter of minutes, he had made an elaborate design with the roses, and made an artistic craft out of the cake - absolutely PERFECT! Peter was poised and present throughout the evening, easy to find (in case we had questions, etc.), and was careful not to hover. He communicated with me throughout the evening, and was kind enough to make suggestions, such as pushing dinner back 15 minutes in order to allow more guests to arrive. He personally found an extra microphone for our DJ. Peter also took the time to make sure we had taken pictures with the cake before cutting and serving it to our guests. His entire team of servers and the bartender were equally attentive and cheerful. The food was delicious - we had several guests mention how great it was! Thank you Lido Banquets, for providing an evening to remember. And for beautifully coordinating such an elaborate event! We greatly appreciate Peter, Joanna, and their entire team! I had my wedding reception at Lido. That was such a good decision! The food is sooooo good! I wish they had a restaurant, because I get cravings for their food. Everything went smooth and the owner was there the whole night, making sure everything was great. I love that they have only one room and we were the only party there, so there were no strangers, and no music coming from the room next door. They have a small parking lot, but you can park at the bank next door, and there is plenty of street parking too. I absolutely love everything about this place and I can't wait to have a baby and have the christening there :) read more

Walked into our wedding and the venue was perfectly decorated. The staff was on it, very friendly and the food was delicious. You get more than your money's worth! I also liked that some guests who came later than the scheduled dinner time were still offered the opportunity to eat! My siblings and I just celebrated our parent's 50th Wedding anniversary this past weekend and this place, along with their fabulous staff, was just simply AMAZING!!!! I had researched and looked at 6 different places, but Lido was the spot I truly loved. It only has one banquet space and you dont have to worry about sharing it with another party. Plenty of parking, etc. The food was delicious - the guests wouldnt stop raving about the place, the food, the staff, etc. I would definitely have another party here. Ive lived down the street from the lido for 14 years so when i got my invite to go here it was a no brainer i would just see it as passing by it but when i arrived i was blown away with size of the space and how nice it looks inside the staff WOW they where on point all night right up to midnight and we got there at 5pm some places the staff disappear after the food is handed out they brought the food asked if we needed more or anything the bartender was great at times he was swamped but he handled it all with a smile every single employee from management to waitresses where very very attentive and outgoing and respectful and professional the food was good hot and large portions glad i got a chance to come here great memories and i was only a guest not the bride and groom read more

We recently (September) celebrated our daughters Quinceanera at the Lido and we could not have been more happy and pleased with service, attention to detail and overall treatment by Peter and his staff at the Lido. From the day we went to look at the hall, we were treated so well and Peter answered every single question we could think of. The Lido was so accommodating that they even let us use the hall for an hour the day before the event so that our daughter could practice her dances. The Lido itself is a very elegant place to hold you event. The food is phenomenal. I read a previous post of someone saying the food was bad, which completely not true. We have three chefs in our family from around the country who attended the event and all said the food was great. The overall cost of the event for about 150 people was very reasonable for a five hour (4 hour open bar) reception, and trust me, we researched pretty much everything on the North side of Chicago and the Lido beat them all. In closing, I highly recommend the Lido. You can trust that you will be in good hands with Peter and his staff. Everyone of his staff, from the bartender to the hostess giving your guests a glass of champagne as they come in (classy touch by the way) was all smiles the day of the event, which made everyone feel welcome. We had a great experience with the bakery that they worked with (and some delicious cake). The room is a typical banquet hall style...it is very beautiful and was the perfect size/set up for us. Our guests stayed at the O'Hare Courtyard by Marriott, which we were also really pleased with, which included free shuttle to/from. We recently held our wedding reception for 180 guests at The Lido and were happy with our choice. Before booking we visited about a dozen banquet halls and restaurants in our moderate price range, and The Lido was the nicest looking one in terms of layout, drapes, carpeting, etc. The tables, chairs, and centerpieces all were beautiful on our big day. Joanna, the manager, did an excellent job of presenting to us all the options and choices and then actually staging the event. She was also firm but fair in terms of negotiating with us on prices. About half our guests were of Polish heritage so we selected one of the Polish menu packages. From the feedback I received, everybody enjoyed the food and drink and was satisfied with the wait staff and bartenders. Parking was plentiful, and The Lido provided a coat check service. read more

I had gone to soo many banquet halls and no one treated me as if I was paying them for my event. They treated me like I was waisting their time. When I chose the Lido he helped me every step of the way. Never tried to get me to add on things, just to make the money. He always thought of me. Was very patient with Bridezilla. The day of my wedding everything was in order, nothing went wrong. Everyone is still talking about the great food, great and pleasant waitresses. Beautiful decorations, and they never did anything without asking. It wasn't like other halls that the owners are standing there to watch the party. They give you space.
